    New LG Fridge OK But Quality Not As Good as Older

    This LG refrigerator replaces my previous LG fridge which lasted about 13 years before the compressor went caput. This model looks exactly the same and has most of the same features. However, the stainless steel finish on this new model is alot thinner in that it can scratch alot easier. Also the weight of the doors feel lighter and the shelves seem thinner. Overall the quality of materials feel cheaper. This model also has an air filter and previous one did not. Just hoping this new one will ger at least 10+ years. This size 33 width limited my options for immediate purchase.

    We have loved this refrigerator for all of the 1.5 years we've owned it. Love the versatility of the shelving, deep bins and the ease of changing out filters. Just last night, however, the compressor died. A repairperson arrived today and told us that a common issue with LG refrigerators is faulty compressors. We will never purchase another LG refrigerator again. This is too new and too expensive to have a 1.5 year life.

    I didn’t have much choice since I needed a 33” refrigerator and the supply was all on back order. This one had my minimum requirements: An ice maker and water in the outer door and a flex drawer. The flex drawer was not as big as I had hoped, and you had to access it from the inside of the refrigerator (unlike the Samsung I had which had a much larger outside-access drawer). The ice maker is in the upper door which adds room to the adjacent top shelf, but does make the door thicker, thus a bit heavy. The freezer is roomy but the lighting for the lower drawer is dim because it relies on the light from the upper shelf. Not a deal breaker. The model has one compressor, not two (like the Samsung) so I’m hoping it doesn’t break down. I understand refrigerators aren’t made to last very long. The Samsung I had a leaking faulty ice maker and other problems that couldn’t be repaired. I only had it for 7 years.

    Not a LG fan, but after 1 month, was happy with this refrigerator. For only 33" wide, it has a lot of space inside. Reached temp fairly quickly. Monitored temp for a few day, and it was pretty close. The WiFi works nice as it tells you how many times the doors were open, energy usage.... The app works very well. The ice machine does not hold much ice, but in ice plus mode, it will make it faster some how. What I do not like about it would be the delays on getting water and ice to drop, changing dispenser modes. Hope this model does not fall into the bad compressor issue. So far, so good.

    I was leery of buying an LG fridge after hearing about the compressor issues from a couple years ago. Overall, I am happy with the purchase. LG improved the compressor warranty to be 10 years to give confidence back to buying an LG fridge. Great features and quiet spacious for it's size.

    Purchased Feb, 2020. As of 9/5/22, Had compressor failure twice and now going out for third time. Although food allowance paid for most of food loss, did not pay for lost time and inconvenience. For a small fridge, it has plenty of room. well lit. and is well designed. terrible compressor issues. Will be inquiring on a new replacement fridge and will not be going back to this model.

    Beware compressor warranty

    Purchased 2020. On 1/12/2022 compressor started making a lot of noise but its still cooling. Call LG. Told compressor is still in warranty but noise is not covered. It must fail and stop cooling the device before it is covered. Magnificent! Will live with noise till it fails then hope it can be repaired before food spoils.

    May not be working a few months from purchase

    We took a great deal of care in selecting this refrigerator. It is not easy to find a narrow unit, that has french doors, a bottom freezer and a water/ice dispenser. To be completely fair- we loved this fridge for the 7 months that it worked. One day, the fridge simply died. Called Best Buy, who asked us to call LG. LG arranged for a service appointment. This appointment was delayed by 3 weeks. After the service call, a new Control Panel was installed. This control panel almost immediately fried as well. There is an issue with the compressor and its power draw. 4 weeks later, still no operating refrigerator. Who knows how long it will be until we can get a repair or a replacement. I would not buy, nor recommend this refrigerator based upon our experience.

    What a piece of Junk!

    This is a piece of JUNK. We have had the repair crew from LG out 2 times now and are waiting for them to schedule another visit. The ice machine does not put out well at all. We have have had the compressor replaced, then repaired and now the freeze will not hold temp. WOW ! Of course this all started just over the 2 week limit to return it to Best Buy! Too bad they can only stand behind their product for 2 weeks.

    Was pretty happy with it until Compressor went out at 17 months. Buy manufactuter's warranty not Geek Squad's. Virtually impossible to get a repair appointment schefuled with them.

    LOUD!!! And impossible customer service access

    Love the size and features, but the compressor is so loud and vibrates to the point that you cannot have anything inside touching or it will rattle. Even makes our glasses in the cabinet across the kitchen rattle. Have tried to get Best Buy to send out a repair, but apparently that appointment didn't get into the system. Today, after being on hold 4 times for at least 25 minutes each, I still have not reached anyone to help us. This is absolutely unforgivable. We purchased several appliances from them and this is only 5 days old and we can't get any help. I'm still on-hold. Will report back later if any success, but recommend shopping at a non big box where perhaps they might actually care about their customers.

    Worst Compressor Ever

    This is my second LG, and honestly I didn’t want this trash can either, but I bought this year when appliances were in short supply. This is my second fridge with LG, and I hate it too. Both of my refrigerators have had compressor issues, last one going out twice before I just tossed it for this model. Now, 6 months in, the day before Christmas, it went out on my new model. Avoid this model completely. I am so sick of this thing and the minute it goes out of warranty, I’m going over to Whirlpool and get the model I want.

    Died in less 2 years

    We have loved this refrigerator for all of the 2 years we've owned it. Last night, however, the compressor died. Best Buy said LG does not honor the warranty (even through we have a 3 year warranty). Now I have to get a entire new fridge because there are no pairs to repair the fridge even with the warranty no parts in stock.

    Do not buy LG!!!

    Our LG fridge died after 5 years and 2 months. After waiting 2weeks for the technician he replaced the compressor for $375 - this is the price when covered by warranty! Two weeks later and it’s dead again! The technician will be here again…in 2 weeks! Do not buy an LG!

    It will break down very fast. Linear compressor they use on any model is defective. 5 Years parts and labor on compressor is a joke. they fail to send anyone to diagnose and repair. Just ask BBB, they have over 5000 complaints bottom line when it breaks, nothing else matters
