Faulty compressor after 1.5 years

Love the versatility of the shelving, deep bins and the ease of changing out filters. Just last night, however, the compressor died. A repairperson arrived today and told us that a common issue with LG refrigerators is faulty compressors. We will never purchase another LG refrigerator again. This is too new and too expensive to have a 1.5 year life.

Noisy Frig

Service was done and told the noise is coming front the compressor, the cords are hitting against causing the noise, and cords too short to move. I was advised to contact store to replace. So, I have selected another model and awaiting delivery. Overall, the refrigerator cools well, keeps veggies crisp, I wouldn’t recommend LG model.

NEW LG refrigerator

Today July 4, 2022 icemaker does not work and the new carton of ice cream has melted to soup texture in one day. I called for service and the soonest I can have a technician come out is 10 days from today which puts me at July 14, 2022. This refrigerator is seven months old. Now the error code displays on the front screen of the refrigerator CL E. Now I can’t even get water to dispense.

Geek Squad Appliance Installation nightmare.

They damaged the unit during installation. I requested compensation and was refused. WARNING: Do not have an appliance installed by Best Buy. And they damaged my deck.

Extremely disappointed

When I confronted him on the phone he denied it and said he didn’t do it. It wasn’t there before because I just painted. Also he did not level my fridge and my door keeps on slamming shut!!

Compressor issues.

As of 9/5/22, Had compressor failure twice and now going out for third time. Although food allowance paid for most of food loss, did not pay for lost time and inconvenience. For a small fridge, it has plenty of room. well lit. and is well designed. terrible compressor issues. Will be inquiring on a new replacement fridge and will not be going back to this model.

May not be working a few months from purchase

It is not easy to find a narrow unit, that has french doors, a bottom freezer and a water/ice dispenser. To be completely fair- we loved this fridge for the 7 months that it worked. One day, the fridge simply died. Called Best Buy, who asked us to call LG. LG arranged for a service appointment. This appointment was delayed by 3 weeks. After the service call, a new Control Panel was installed. This control panel almost immediately fried as well. There is an issue with the compressor and its power draw. 4 weeks later, still no operating refrigerator. Who knows how long it will be until we can get a repair or a replacement. I would not buy, nor recommend this refrigerator based upon our experience.

Can't cool down properly

First one would not go below 40 degrees and checked with three different thermometers, digital, dial, and mercury. All confirmed high temps. Next one was just a bit better. Stays about 37 degrees most of the time but can't cope with any warm food put in it. Goes past 40 and does not have the power to bring back to 37 degrees for many hours. No matter what setting I have on the front 33, 34, 35, 36 it always stays at about 37 degrees. Would never buy this brand again. I have a cheap insignia fridge out in my garage that sometimes has 100 degree temp but the insignia fridge stays at 32-35 degrees, Why can't this very expensive fridge bring the temps to what I set them to ???????????????

Broken Ice maker after 2 months

I wish I had done a bit more research on this unit as it appears to be a common hardware issue. The only reason why I bought this refrigerator was because it had an external ice and water maker and fit our kitchen's dimensions. Now I have to deal with trying to get this fixed or just live with a broken ice maker...

What a piece of Junk!

We have had the repair crew from LG out 2 times now and are waiting for them to schedule another visit. The ice machine does not put out well at all. We have have had the compressor replaced, then repaired and now the freeze will not hold temp. WOW ! Of course this all started just over the 2 week limit to return it to Best Buy! Too bad they can only stand behind their product for 2 weeks.

Awaiting 3rd service in 18 months

Last night (9/17/2021) the fridge completely stopped working. This is the 3rd time I’m having LG come out to diagnosis/fix my fridge. The first two times were within the first year and covered by warranty. Because the fridge has no power to it all, and I’m outside of one year, they wanted to charge a service fee to come diagnose ($125). Apparently the fridge having no power whatsoever is outside of the 5 year warranty that covers its “cooling function”. If you have a problem with this fridge outside of one year, I’d recommend when you call for help you say it’s not “cooling”. First two services calls related to the ice maker malfunctioning and it had to be replaced both times. Awaiting results from third service call.

LG fridge -Don't believe the hype - Life Is Good

The last person I spoke to told me to wait until the manufactory warranty expired, then the store would take over. Its vibrates making noises that can be heard in another room with the tv going. The food frosts in the freezer, and the ice maker also freezes. A total waste of money.

Lost faith in LG

It supposedly has WiFi connectivity through an app. The instructions are worthless for connecting so I contacted support. I have been going back and forth with them for three weeks now without any kind of solution. I work in IT so have knowledge of connecting devices. I have purchased several other large LG appliances and was always impressed with their design. So far no issues with them but now realize if I do have a problem I will not get quality support. For lack of a support team I will not be buying any other LG products.

LG Refrigerator

There was damage on the refrigerator. Went to Best Buy to show them pictures of the refrigerator damage. They deducted money off the refrigerator if we wanted to keep it. We decided to keep it. Then was a issue with the water dispenser. The water smelled and it tasted bad. I changed the filter to see if that would help and it didn’t. I ran water through the dispenser about 5 or 6 gallons. And the smell seemed to go away, but the water still tasted bad. I put in calls to LG about the water bad taste issue. Now I’m waiting for a LG Tech. To check out the refrigerator. Poor warranty help I called three times, the third time I finally got a LG representative that helped set up a appointment.

Absolute TRASH! DO NOT BUY!

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. We bought on Feb 15, 2020. The freezer compressor went out on Sept 9, 2020. Spent 4 hours on the phone with Best Buy with no luck. Numerous hours on the phone and live chat to schedule warranty work w/ LG. HAHA 9/15/2020-The repair company just left. THEY CANNOT FIX THE FREEZER. A small percentage of repair companies are equipped to repair compressors using 600a refrigerant. This unit uses 600a. They will not even look at it.

faulty and noisy product

We have extended warranty and they cam out and bent a plate back and said it was contacting a motor or something like that. A few days later the noise comes back. Its so loud we can hear it upstairs in our bedroom and the tech said there was little that can be done about it. Stay away from LG as their quality has gone way down.

Installation is a disaster

Our fridge installers came to our house pull the old fridge to the middle of the kitchen and left. They did not even bring in the new fridge and left us with counters full of food and our old fridge just sitting in the middle of the kitchen. We called Best Buy and they said the best they could do is have someone come 3 days later. Installation is a complete disaster and I would not recommend.
