Professional installation will likely be required. Make sure to check with a qualified master plumber before purchasing any new dishwasher. Our house is fifty years old and required a small fortune to bring up to code. Improper installation will likely cause this unit to function improperly and/or become damaged. This particular model is very energy efficient to the point it does not have a heating element for the drying cycle and requires a drying agent. Failure to maintain the minimum levels of the drying agent will definitely cause dishes not to dry properly and may require some manual labor with a dry cloth. Make sure to clean the trap! This unit does not have a great waste disposal system and the filter should be cleaned before and after heavy uses. Do not be fooled by how quiet this unit is. It is definitely running! Do not confuse this mid-tier unit with that of a Bosch or your 25yr old KitchenAid -- but if used properly it works extremely well for those on a budget. The adjustable racks do take some time to get used to, but make it very easy to load her up once you get the hang of it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

The only annoying feature is the folding prongs. While loading the dishes, they can easily be bumped and knocked over. Not a big deal. Overall, very happy with the machine; looks great, works well, quiet!

We got this dishwasher for its decibel rating and we have been very happy so far. It is very quiet. Our bar may have been low since we had a very cheap dish washer in our old house, but this one is very quiet and does a good job with the dishes.

I don’t usually write reviews but having experienced two units failing within 12 months, and having seen the low quality of the various components I want to make sure that potential buyers will consider other manufacturers or at least buy an extended warranty. Could I have been unluckily? Maybe but too many red flags to ignore.
The first unit leaked all over my hardwood floor on Day 1 and the Bestbuy installation crew had to come back with a new unit. They said that LG makes good performance dishwashers but they have seen many out of the box failures. They suggested that I should have bought a Bosch dishwasher instead. Nice as this was my intend before a Bestbuy associate recommended the LG dishwasher!!!
The dishwasher worked flawlessly for about 2 months and then It stopped draining and aborted the cycle.. The problem self recovered by starting a new cycle. (or multiple re-tries). This repeated itself at least twice a month until my dishwasher stopped draining for good 8 months later.
The LG service person replaced the pump and the bottom section and my dishwasher worked well for 3 months and then failed again this month.
LG no longer have their own repair crews so I was told to schedule my service appointment directly with their authorized repair centers and that the unit was no longer under warranty.
Since I have no confidence in the quality of this product, I didn’t to waste $400 on a service call to keep it working. My two options were to replace with Bosch or fix it myself. I decided to put it apart, removed all the hoses and connectors and once re-assembled, it worked again.
There are also other minor defects such as the plastic rack holders that won’t stay put. I had to use tie wrap to keep them in place and the repair person acknowledge that he did the same on his own dishwasher.
Lastly, the LED indicator will be off after about 3 minutes, which makes it easier for my daughters to claim that they didn't know that the dishes were clean. There is an option to keep the LED on but it doesn't work and the service person couldn't make it work either.
OK now on a positive note, this unit delivers spotless dishes. This is the fifth dishwasher that I bought and it delivers the best performance by far.
I also like that the washing arms can easily be removed for cleanup. The small holes can get blocked over time and this design makes it easy to remove the components and clean them.

Bought this unit to replace a 20 year old model. It matches the styling of our LG french door refrigerator perfectly. The hidden controls are easy to use once we read the instructions. We cannot believe how much room there is in this model. The flexible rack features allow us to wash any types of items in the upper or lower baskets.
The silverware basket was a bit odd at first. There are assigned spots for different items. On the plus side, the basket allows us to wash large items like tongs or big spoons in it so they don't take up roon in the upper rack.

For anyone with kids having the buttons on top of the door is a great feature. No more phantom wash cycles.
I got this on sale form Best Buy when they also had LG free installation so that saved a bundle. We purchased this because we wanted a reliable model after our last one died after barely 2 years. I will not be purchasing Amana every again. This LG looks great and has many great features. I will update again if it dies after 2 years but I am hoping this on stands up to the test of time.
Only down side is for those who like the heat dry feature then this is not for you as it has no heating element.

This dishwasher is replacing one I had for 26 yrs. What a huge difference. So quiet. It's very nice to be able to adjust the prongs to make an area bigger for bowls, pans etc. On top shelf you have an area to lay down your larger knives, utencils etc. Overall I love the machine

I like this dishwasher, however we have had a few problems with it. We had trouble with it stopping in the middle of a cycle and called Geek Squad (who were fantastic) and found out it had a couple of parts recalled. They ordered us the parts and fixed it at no charge.

Too bad that so much went into the design and quality of the appliance but left the lower dish rack design to an imbecile. It was a great concept to have some of the support spines fold or unfold to an upright or flat position so you could accommodate many varieties of dishes. But the amount of force to push them over is so small, it can't hold very many or heavy plates before it collapses. I've broken several nice pieces of my serving set in just the few months I've owned it, and now am forced to wash many plates and pieces by hand. What good is a $800 dishwasher if it can't wash dishes??? And now i'm stuck with it for ?? years until it breaks.
Don't get burned. Try another brand and look for this flaw too.

Does a great job cleaning glasses & dishes. Holds a large quantity. Love that plastic can be placed anywhere safely. The only thing I would improve would be the prongs on bottom rack fold too easily & often, by accident.
Good sale price, special on free install & used my Best Buy Credit card for even more discount, so a very good price. Drying is lacking on "quick & dry", but good on "extra dry".

We have a LG TV, A DVD player, a Washer and Dryer, and they are all amazing. So when the old dishwasher was starting to go bad on us, we though LG is a name we can trust. We went online and read all the reviews, and it got a pretty good score. So we went and bought it.
Big mistake.
Shape: It didn't fit out counter like the old one did, now we have a dishwasher that sticks out a little further and a cabinet next to it is a little harder to open.
Design: It is a little lower to the ground, but that seems like a new trend with dishwashers now a days. Inside it has this fold down racks, they wobble and feel cheap, I don't think I am ever going to use them, and I am afraid the clip is going to break easily and be a pain to replace (finding the part mostly). Also, I am not a fan of where the controls are; You can kind of see them if you bend down, and maybe even access them when the door is closed if you have tiny fingers. But what is the point of that fancy looking display, when it is so hard to reach.
Use: Wash Cycles are a lot longer than are old machine. Very Quiet! This is nice. But, bottom line, it doesn't clean dishes. It left a lot of dirty dishes, and even ones that were pre-washed. To tell you the truth, it washes worse than our old dish washer the day we got rid of it. What hurt the most was that our old dish washer at it worst, 12 years of service, still washed dishes better than this brand new state of the art dish washer.

We are remodeling our kitchen and we purchased an LG refrigerator so we decided to purchase an LG dishwasher to match it in design. It is very quiet with hidden electronic controls. It has a stemware holder, 3 in one detashable baskets, stainless steel tub, 7 wash cycles and big enough for 14 place settings. My husband and I can't wait to have it delivered.

I saw this in the showroom and thought it looked beautiful. The main problem is that the tines that fold for easy loading on the lower level, collapse easily. It is very frustrating because as I am trying to load it, the dishes fall in on themselves because the tines do not have enough strength. The dishwasher that this replaced had folding tines (not as many) but they were much stronger. The tines on top are not spaced properly for my bowls, and it limits how much I can load also, but that is probably my dishes. My suggestion - take 2 plates with you and see how the tines hold up - what should be a nice feature is a major disadvantage!!

I agree with a lot of the other reviewers on here. I've had cheap builder grade GE's that did a better job than this. You have to prerinse everything thoroughly and even then the dishes aren't super clean. No heat dry, so the only way to get everything fully dry is to open is up and leave it open for a few hours. Mine also gets a funky smell and we use the dishwasher "cleaner" pretty regularly. The Finish soap packs fit perfect in the washer, and that is what we use.
The functionality of this dishwasher sucks. On the plus side, it looks beautiful and I love that you cannot see the buttons.

I HATE HATE HATE this dishwasher. Did I say HATE? It doesn't clean dishes and my glasses all look TERRIBLE. I've tried different cycles, the extra dry option etc. It sucks. Truly. The hybrid drying system is a joke. And YES, I do have Jet Dry in the machine. I want to throw it out the window.
The other thing that is a bit ridiculous...a normal drying cycle is 3 hours. Yes 3 hours. This machine is so terrible.

I purchased this product because I was hopefull paying more for a high rated product would be successful. We have had nothing but trouble and after 1yr and 2months need to replace it. We keep getting a "eo"drain error which cant be fixed. We never did like the rack system as the racks tines fall flat with EVERY load we run and need to be reset. My dishes are all chipped because the racks dont hold up.
We like the big size but usually end up hand washing the dishes bc the cycles will never finish with the drain error that cannot be fixed. We are told that is pretty much the life on most lg appliances 1-2years-very dissapointing. STAY VERY CLEAR of this model. Lg has not been able to help with either problem.

Purchased a home with a 2 yr old LG dishwasher and the inside is terrible (looks dirty) runs for 2 hours, doesn't clean well at all and has few options for washing, no drying cannot be selected and even the light and delicate cycles take 2 hours?! Really?
The previous owner must not have used recently they left coffee inside to not smell bad! I will not replace with an LG nor will I pay to fix this one.
