This LG replaced a Whirlpool that died outside the warranty but would have required repairs close to the cost of a new one. So we took a flyer on this l. It could go for a long time but I doubt it. Durable goods aren't very durable these days..

Here are some observations: 1) The LED light is now more difficult to read, making it hard to tell what the timer says. 2) The lower rack derails all the time when you push it in. 3) The middle rack is hard to push in all the way so that it properly butts against the water inlet. If you fail to get it all the way in, it leaks from the lower left hand side of the door, then spouts steam up towards the counter (it ruined my cheap MDF counter by dousing it in steam). When it drips, it also rusts the front door arm that secures it to the main unit. 4) Something about the motor must be going bad - it's ridiculously loud now and makes a buzzing noise when washing. You can barely hear yourself think or watch a movie. As an aside, the Geek Squad warranty is absolutely worthless. The technician pretty much said that they'll only fix it if it stops working. So the noise, rack, rust - not covered. The only think I like about it is that it cleans well and I like the air drying feature. Do yourself a favor, and don't buy an LG, and for Pete's sake skip the Geek Squad warranty (which is administered by some other company).

If I had it to do over, I'd buy a different brand.

After having customer service difficulties with other big box appliance dealers, dealing with Best Buy was like a breath of fresh air. The communication was excellent, the product is very good, and the installers were professional and friendly. Front panel lights all flash and beep. As I research, this is a common problem with this LG dishwasher. Probably the Control Panel module, which is very difficult to find, probably due to the many failures on this unit. We bought this unit along with an LG Oven, and LG refrigerator, which are performing very well. Dishwasher was great until fatal failure. We will replace the dishwasher now, but not with the LG branding.

When the cycle is over the top rack and the silverware caddy are wet. I have to open the unit, towel off the wet cups and glasses, then leave the door open a bit to complete drying. Cleans well in turbo mode. Very quiet.

Posted .Drying performance is directly affected by the amount of heat that remains in the tub after the heated rinse is performed. If your dishwasher is far away from your home’s hot water heater, it may be necessary to run the hot water tap in the sink before starting a wash cycle, to ensure that cool water is purged from the hot water lines. This will ensure your dishwasher has a consistent supply of hot water from start to finish.
Using the High Temp setting also aids in keeping the inner drum temperature and dishes hotter before drying begins. LG dishwashers are designed to be used in conjunction with a rinse aid. Using a rinse aid will maximize the amount of water that has already been sheeted away from the dishes before the dry cycle begins. If a rinse aid is used and the performance still needs a boost, adjust the amount of rinse aid used. 2 is the default setting, but if necessary set the level to 3 so more rinse aid is used.
Water tends to bead rather than sheet of plastic and nonstick surfaces, making them more difficult to dry. If washing plastic items in a Normal cycle, select the Extra Dry or Night Dry option or both for better drying results. When the rinse aid is empty, the Extra Dry option is selected automatically.
Allow the dishwasher to completely finish the dry cycle before opening the door. If the door is opened in the middle of the dry cycle, the heat that is necessary for the hybrid dry system to work will escape. This will cause all of the dishes inside to remain wet once the cycle finishes. ^Jennifer
WHAT service?! STAY AWAY FROM LG

This dishwasher leaked from the right bottom corner. The water splashes over the bottom gasket and flows out of the front cover. We contacted LG numerous times, and at first were given simple fixes to try, which we knew would do nothing. Eventually, and reluctantly, they scheduled a repairman to come. LG called to confirm the appointment. No one showed! We called the company LG set up the appointment with and came to find out they do not service our area! So, after making sure we were home for a service visit, this had to be rescheduled with another company. Days later the repairman came. He removed the dishwasher, and then upon trying to reinstall, stated the inlet water line was leaking. He recommended a replacement. Also, noted the flooring damage we received from the leaking dishwasher, and the "possible leak" which he stated could be happening due to user error when loading the machine. Ok, so I paid the 30 dollars for a new 5 foot stainless steel braided water line, installed it, and noticed the repairman had tried to install the old one with teflon tape, which is certainly not recommended with a compression fitting with a rubber seal. So, here I am installing the dishwasher AGAIN, ran it without ANY dishes, and the leak is still there. After contacting customer service they tried to set up another service visit. I want a replacement and I want to be compensated for the damage to my flooring from the leak. I was told I would receive a call from a different department. 2 weeks later, no call. Tried live chat, and after explaining TWICE what happened, was disconnected from the chat by the representative while waiting for THEM! Called customer service again, they sent an "update email" to the department who was supposed to call me. So here I am, with a lemon machine, and absolutely HORRIBLE customer service. Now I am stuck talking to a stranger and trying to manage my frustration with someone who has no ability or desire to actually help. STAY AWAY!
