    A lot of room

We had been looking to buy a new dishwasher to replace our Bosch. This LG works great. It has a lot of room for all my dishes. I also love the upper tray for my flatware. The upper shelf also raises and lowers which is great when I have large items on the bottom. It is also very quiet.

This is the quietest dishwasher I have ever heard. I was excited to use the top rack for silverware. I also love the hidden controls. This washer does not have a heating element. It does NOT dry dishes completely. There is water on glasses and bowls every time I take them out of the washer. The top rack does not clean dirty flatware sufficiently. Very disappointed. Returned today and purchased the Bosch. Paid a bit more but it is worth it ( I hope - not delivered yet ). Best Buy was great when I returned.

Really like it, and really good for the money. 3rd rack is excellent, never had before and don't know how I lived without it. Pretty quiet, can still hear it but have to be within a few feet. Cleans and dries well. does take longer than my old machine but worth it if its saving water and energy. Looks great too!

    I just replaced a B***h which replaced a S*****g..

And I'm happy with this one (there was another before the B***h and the S*****g - each worked and lived at home for a while, the last only 3+ yrs.). I'm not saying I'm hard to satisfy but; I want what I want when and how I want it. Quiet, clean, stainless and matches all the other LG in the house. I like the controls on top of the door. I like the tub size (my favorite cut-board would fit inside the S*****g but not in the B***h - go figure. The third rack is handy-dandy. 10 yr warranty on the drive, front adjustable rear legs, like the lay-down tines in the dish racks and finally, I can get the mudbug pot in the dishwasher (again, it would the S*****g but not in the B***h). It is a large tub 24" unit that was way easier to instal than the S*****g tall tube. HINT - I adjusted the height up but just low enough that I could still see to press buttons (and read time remaining) with the door closed. It is new but so far, so good!

Great dishwasher for a few years

I purchased this in July 2012. The main problem with this dishwasher is that it was installed by Best Buy and they sent this clueless couple to install, it never was installed properly. Just didn't fit correctly, and I have now read that this is a problem in general with these washers. It's now January 2017 and the motor went out. 4 & 1/2 years on a very expensive dishwasher is disgraceful. On the plus side it really cleaned well and it's so heavy duty. The ones I am looking to replace it with seem so much less substantial . Another problem is that it does leak on the left hand side occasionally. I do think that there is a 10 year warranty on the motor, so that is good. I would give it a 5 stars on cleaning though!

    Quiet, Good Racks, Good-Looking

The best features are listed in the title above. It is quiet, but that's because it doesn't spray water very fast, so it takes 2 1/2 hours to do the dishes. Along with not spraying water quickly, it also doesn't clean very well--probably worse than my last dishwasher. You really have to pre-wash. If you put in enough soap to fill the soap cup, it will leave a residue on your dishes if you use Jet Dry. If you don't use Jet Dry, it will leave your dishes very wet, as there is no heating element. Without a heating element, you can put your plastic dishes on the bottom, so that's a plus. While the dishwasher is pretty, the front handle sticks out far enough to block my drawer that's next to it (at 90 degrees as the dishwasher is in a corner), which was not a problem with my old dishwasher. The third rack is nice. I just found out that the top rack (not 3rd tippy-top rack) is adjustable so that taller cups can fit while still leaving enough space for my cutting board on the bottom rack. The rack spacing is adjustable, with prongs that fold up and down, and spacing (with no adjustments) fits plates easily, unlike many Bosch dishwashers. I got this Open Box with a 25% discount for $250, so it's a great buy. If I paid full-price, I'd be pretty disappointed. Would I buy it again at that price knowing what I own now? Probably, but only because I've been so disappointed with most new dishwashers I've seen at family members' houses. All their racks are terrible!

We've been using this dishwasher for 3 weeks now. It looks great in our kitchen and is super super quiet, but the dishes come out dirty 40% of the time. No matter how you load it the adjustable racks fold over and dishes all fall down/tip over. (That's the most aggravating thing about it!) Really bums me out that it doesn't work like we'd like it to. Like I said it looks great and is really quiet! After talking with a couple different salesmen and a couple people who the Bosch brand we're going to ship this one out and buy a 800 series Bosch. It's $300 more and doesn't looks as nice to me, but has very good reviews. And most importantly most of the racks are solid not adjustable. So when you're in the store looking, grab the racks and see how easily they tip left and right with no dishes on them. If it wasn't for that we would keep this one, but I seriously restack the dishes about 4 times before I actually run it. I hope this helps some of you out.

    Deal breaker

I am not one to write reviews. I do read them and even read reviews on issues with this dishwasher's bottom rack getting off track. I thought it would be worth trying anyway, given that it was nearly $200 less than my other choice and had so many other features I liked. I was hoping that perhaps the other reviews were simply an issue of particularities. I wish. I have had the dishwasher for 4 days. It is awesome in every aspect EXCEPT that irritating bottom rack. It gets worse when there are dishes in the rack. So, unless you plan to wait until you have enough for a full-load, prepare to be annoyed every time you push that sucker back in. I intend to return mine and go for the upgraded brand. It's worth $200 to me to not be irritated every time I use this dishwasher for the next umpteen years.

Bought this in Jan of 2015. Was initially impressed by how quiet this dishwasher was. In the past month it has started to make a high pitched sound. I reached out to LG for support. They have lead me through a giant goose chase in what I believe is an effort to not provide warranty support. I've had to clean the mineral deposits (that didn't make any difference#, I've been told to call a plumber because my inlet pressure was too high #when the noise has nothing to do with a filling operation#. Now I'm in a rinse and repeat cycle of calling trying to get a technician out to look at the unit and there's always an excuse. If you look online this seems to be a common issue with LG dishwashers #and some chopper mechanism). Highly annoying. I'm not going to be purchasing any more LG appliances. What happened to customer service?

So I've read all the reviews and for those that did not rate this well, read and follow the instructions for the care of this dishwasher. This is a nice dishwasher. It cleans well and I love the features such as the adjustable top rack , the silverware holder is rather cool and that 3rd rack is awesome to have. The silverware come out cleaner than ever and if you actually follow the loading instructions, this thing holds a lot of dishes. On a funny side note, my cat likes to sit in front of it while it's running, go figure that on out! Maybe she likes her reflection in the stainless steel front. LOL

Got this about a week ago. Ordered it online after seeing it in the store and picked it up at the warehouse same day. It is not easier going to most retailers and finding a black appliance in stock. Another retailer said it would take 7 weeks since they had to order my color. Not Best Buy they had it in stock today. Score! Took it up north and was able to install it with out any issue. Make sure you level it to keep it balanced. The units is incredibly quite and you can be sitting next to it without even knowing it is running.

GREAT xxperience from purchase in store, to delivery, and self installation. converting all my 15 year old appliances to black stainless and slightly higher end quality. I actually thought there was something wrong the first time it was used because it is just sooooo quiet. If I had to find one thing wrong, my old dishwasher had a status light as to if the cycle was complete; was really nice when wondering if anyone ran the dishwasher. This one just turns all the lights off and you can't tell unless you open and inspect dishes. Other than that 5 thumbs up!!!! Stove is next.

THE WORST! Poor engineering = Repeat Failures

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

We've owned this unit for nearly 3 years and we just ordered a new dishwasher due to repeat failures. - First, the control panels shorted out just after 1-year P&L warranty, so the part was covered, but the $300 in labor/troubleshooting was not covered by warranty. - Next the drain pump failed after 2-year P&L warranty had expired. Apparently this happens often with this unit. I was given some lame excuse about which detergent to use, so we switched and the replacement part failed within 2 weeks. - Thankfully the replacement part was warrantied for 90 days and parts & labor were covered here. - Just last week, after nearly owning this unit for 3 years, the DRAIN PUMP FAILED AGAIN! I refused to pay another $150 in parts and labor to get this poorly engineered unit fixed. As others have said, your dishes have to be nearly spotless when you use this "washer" to essentially just rinse your dishes. Because of all the failures, I made sure my dishes were pretty clean going in, but the drain pump failed again and I'm done. We bought a cheap Kenmore to replace this machine. We have other LG appliances, which are great, but this unit is the worst. The Best Buy sales reps even told my neighbor to avoid LG Dishwasher because they can't make a decent dishwashing appliance. But Best Buy personnel did speak highly of their other appliance offerings.

I have been using this dishwasher for about 8 months. I am happy with it's ability to wash the dishes, and I am very, very happy with the relatively quiet operation. But even with the drying option turned on, I am not pleased with the damp, dripping dishes at the end of the washing cycle. I have to unload the dishes to a counter-top drying rack to air dry before putting the dishes away. And I really wish the "Active wash cycle" blue led light is incredibly bright. That's not a deal breaker, it's just unusual.

I truly believe the people that designed this dishwasher doesn't ever use one very often (meaning a man). 3rd rack has way too many prongs to use for larger utensils. Most people don't use formal utensils anymore & would be best used for larger utensils that you can't put in basket. Bottom rack prongs too straight up, plates fall over unless you prop the first one up against the utensil basket. Clear indicator window for jet dry stays same color always so you can't tell when the liquid gets low until the light comes up. Not sure what that glass window is suppose to do. My other dishwasher window would change color to the liquid you were adding so you knew when to stop adding. Utensil basket for the smaller items to remove the top to open the bin is too time consuming. Should have been a flip top like others. Stainless steal outside shows every fingerprint & drip of water that touches it. I have a stainless steal stove that never shows these things. For $1000.00 this dishwasher should of had all these average designs by now. Not very up to date. Only two things I like about this dishwasher and it's very quiet and does clean well.

I would like to add that I use the Quick & Dry cycle most of the time & everything comes out clean & dry, no need for a 2 hour plus cycle unless you wash maybe only once a week & have hard dried on food (which I don't). I like that the filter is easily removable & can be cleaned. Nice feature. The plates do fall over which is not a desirable feature but I can live with that. The bottom rack wheels could be engineered a little better to stay on the track more securely. I got a new rack & it seems to stay on better.

Terrible Design Flaws - Do not Buy!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

We have made 4 repair claims for this dishwasher and for 3 of those claims the same thing happens: there is always a small piece of food in this tiny spot where the dishwasher connects to the drain hose. Our repair person showed me the problem: there is a tiny hole (1/4") through which any food debris must pass. He said it's a terrible design. Also, there is nothing within the base of the dishwasher to catch any of the debris... there is a 4" circular tube with no mesh to catch anything... so you literally do have to rinse everything perfectly before it goes in, which for me negates the point of a dishwasher. We do rinse the large things, but a tiny piece of chopped onion left on the plate shouldn't cause a problem. We have owned 3 dishwashers and never had problems until we purchased this one. Very disappointed!!! Do NOT BUY! Luckily we have an extended warranty, but I am so tired of the dishwasher being broken that we're going to sell this and replace - and it's only 2 years old. I contacted LG and they gave me a lot of runaround and said my 1-year warranty is up so I'm out of luck. :(
