Appalling LG technical service

Owned for 9 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this in November 2018 so, at the time of writing, I have had it for about 9 months. After about 6 months the unit started to make this awful grinding noise. Additionally, a few minutes after the door was closed and the start button pressed, it would start to beep and do nothing else. Without doing anything else I would then press the start button again and it would begin working. However, it may or may not complete the cycle. If it chose not to them it would, once again, return to its state of simply beeping and blinking at me with no other diagnostics showing. I have tried to get in contact with the LG technical help line at both 800-315-9999 and 800-180-9999. The later number does not work at all and the former sends you to an endless string of advertisements that will try to sell you holidays in the Bahamas or FLORIDA or, perhaps cruises somewhere in the Caribbean. Once it has finished its 10-15 minutes of advertising, it then costs you off and you have to start the entire process again. Alternatively, it will run you through the advertising mill only to then tell you that you are calling out of hours and then it will cut you off. This BTW is even at 4:00pm Eastern on a Thursday afternoon. So much for the “10 year” warranty that it advertised on he front of the unit! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! That is unless you want to spend your day listening to a bunch of adverts.......

My old dishwasher never had an odor when you opened the door. This one is bad. Not sure what the problem is but I don't like it.
