    Dishwasher Magic

One of the best Dishwasher I have ever seen. I read all the reviews and wasn't too excited. Thank god I didn't listen to the reviews. This dishwasher might take 2 1/2 to 3/1/2 hours to cycle, but it is worth it. The dishes come out clean & completely dry. I mean dry right after the cycle is finished. You do need to use the extra dry cycle.

    Almost 5 Year Review

We got this September 2019 and now we are having to get it repaired already. We are the kind of people that even rinse off dishes really well before putting them to help avoid build up, and we clean it too. Just wish appliances would actually last longer than 5 years without having issues. It has been a great dishwasher up until now.

Just Wash Dishes prior to loading

This is a great dishwasher as long as you wash your dishes prior to loading them and run on heavy full cycle. Purchased in 2021 and had to replace a motor in 2023 for $634. I clean the filter and follow all directions to sanitize the tub. Not worth the money. Should have went with Bosch.

    Better think twice.....

We bought all LG appliances for our new home in 2019. I learned quickly the third rack was not functional since items placed in this rack rarely got clean. Then I noticed the control panel was cracking within the first year. The dishwasher still worked fine. The top rack started to rust and eventually two of the movable prongs sections broke. After the first year, the control panel started to blink and beep during a wash cycle and after the cycle was complete until we opened the door. After about two years, the panel would not power on. I fixed this by unplugging the unit and plugging it back in but the control panel blinking and dinging continued until it died about one month ago. I was told by a BB salesman that LG is aware of the control panel issue but are not making any changes to fix the problem at this time. It did clean well a majority of the time except the third rack as previously mentioned. The top and bottom racks both have rust. Needless to say, I'm moving away from LG products. My other LG appliances seem to be working well so far except the washer is making noises and the control panel buttons are caved in. This has been this way since the first month we had the machine but it still functions. I just purchased another brand of dishwasher with hopes it will outlast the LG.

I purchased this Nov 2020. It's been working great until the last 3 months or so. Motor is making lots of noise. Since the motor comes with a 10 year warranty I'm hoping to get some help from LG on on this before the motor goes out completely. $1200 is a lot to pay for a dishwasher so really hoping LG takes care of the issue.

    Best Dishwasher Ever Purchased

I have the past experience of having almost all of the major brands of dishwashers. I have had a "B" a "SAM" and a "W" dishwashers and by far this is the best one. Dishes are sparkling clean just like new out of the box not water marks or anything. Everything is washed super clean and I do like the drying options. It has so many different options for loading that we are still finding ways to load the dishwashers. We have had it two months now and are very happy with everything about it.

Spent the extra money to get the Wi-Fi enabled version of this product, but the appliance's wifi is not working. I have tried several Geek squad team members for support. They either 1) dont understand a dishwasher can have wifi or 2) try to pass me off to another department to help, but I finally got someone to schedule a visit, of course, I have to wait a WEEK to have a so-caled technician show up. LG direct support seems to be snail-mail or equivalent.

    Issues Every 6 months

We purchased this dishwasher when we moved into our new house in December of 2018. -Despite a lower decibel rating, it was not as quiet as another brand (starts with a B) that we had at our old house, but still not bad. Minus half a star. -It does not get dishes clean consistently unless we use the Heavy cycle every time. Minus 1 star. -After approximately 6 months, it started shutting off in the middle of cycles. They replaced the control panel/display and the door latch, which resolved the issue. Minus half a star. -After approximately 12 months, middle rack started rusting. Replaced under warranty. Minus half a star. -After approximately 16 months, the dishwasher started making a loud whistle noise intermittently when in use. A water valve was replaced under warranty. Minus half a star. We'll see if the pattern continues at 24 months. I'll still give it two stars, because despite the noises and issues, it does still function and mostly clean dishes. It is also pretty easy to use, with us only going to the manual for a couple of the more advanced options. However, I will probably not be buying another LG dishwasher after this one.

    DO NOT BUY LG APPLIANCES

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

We have owned this dish washer for three years now. We slowly upgraded our old appliances from the standard off white early 00 style to black stainless when our fridge went out. This does look beautiful, but unfortunately it has not lasted. It is three years old now and the motor is going out (making horrible squealing noises). The motor has a 10 year warranty, but you have to pay one of their certified technicians to diagnose the problem ($80-90). Then they have to install it. You cannot install it yourself. They will not ship me a new motor. That is an additional $300. You are going to end up paying ~$400 for an $80 part. Plus you have all the down time on your machine. I recommend not going through their warranty if you can swing a wrench and splice wires. I did give a 5 star review for the fridge at the 3 year mark. Bestbuy is not allowing me to change my review. That 5 star review was premature. At 5 years the compressor went out and we lost all or our food. That was about a year ago, and now the fridge is not holding temperature anymore. Today I am back on the phone with LG. After the compressor went out at five years, I was hoping to get at least five years more years out of a fridge. The stove and microwave are still working at least. Although the microwave never really keep time. I would never recommend an LG appliance again. You are better off paying for a premium brand or just go with something "cheaper". I cannot imagine anything worse than three years on a dishwasher and five years on a fridge.

We had this dishwasher for slightly more than two years and paid the price for the top line model. Today it is broken. When it starts washing cycle, it sounds like an airplane is taking off. The noise is so intolerable and high pitched (I would have uploaded a video if the site permits). I tried to get help from their twitter rep. Not helpful at all. All they could do is to give me a website and ask me to search for local repair shops. Turned out, diagnosis cost $100, likely the motor is faulty, parts ~$250 and labor ~250. It is a joke. A dishwasher that costs >$1000 and needs $600 for repair after 2 years? So learn from my mistake folks. I eventually decided to buy a new machine from a different brand as I could no longer trust LG, their machine and their services.

    Run...DO NOT buy this dishwasher

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Bought in October 2018....as of June 2019...this is the third time I have had a tech come out to "fix" the problem. Continual "AE" error code for water over flow. The problem is the water comes out from under the bottom door seal and drips into the pan causing the "AE" error. Techs have not replaced any parts to date. I even showed a video where the water is coming out from under the seal to the tech. I am the one who figured this out...maybe they should pay me to be a tech. They have tilted the unit backward as far as they can (which it should be installed level) to help the water run back into the dishwasher but it still comes back with the "AE." Also suggested a sudzing issue with the detergent we use. I tried two alternatives and still the same error. Called LG, they will not refund my money. They will keep sending a tech out until the 1 year warranty runs out and then I am on my own. Said to call Best Buy to see if they will refund/exchange. Called Best Buy...told me nothing they can do after 15 days of purchase, try LG. What a shock. Looks like I am stuck with this $1,000 piece of junk. Other issues: The drain pump on the unit is so forceful that we cannot run a cycle when watching TV due to the excess noise of the water being pumped out. We have to set the timer for midnight to run it. Dishes on the top rack do not get clean. Many times we have to wash by hand some of the top rack "clean" dishes. Silverware with any food on it does not get clean (especially avocado or egg). Top rack dishes are not dry a lot of the time. There is not a heating element in bottom of tub so I suspect it just does not get hot enough to evaporate all the water. The tub is the thinnest gauge of stainless steel I have seen in the three dishwashers I have owned to date. The amount of flex in the tub is awful. If you like to clean stainless, then this is not an issue. The stainless door shows every finger print. I clean the door every other day.

    Check over carefully before installing

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I want to love this dishwasher. It did an amazing job washing dishes when it worked. We had it for a little over a month, then it started leaking. Instead of having one solid tub, it is constructed in two pieces that are glued together, not welded! Make sure to check under the insulation before installing. The tub was slightly bent where the two joints met, but under the insulation, so we didn't see it before it was installed. When it started leaking, I spent HOURS......like more than 15......with customer service between best buy and LG trying to remedy this problem. Neither wanted to take responsibility, because LG said it must have been damaged during shipping, and it was clearly a defective unit, but finally Best Buy replaced it for me.

    Just does not clean dishes

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Let's start with the fact that THIS DISHWASHER DOES NOT CLEAN DISHES. We've had this since Jan-2021. 7 out of 8 days when we retrieve dishes from this machine in the morning that have been *washed* during the night, we have to re-wash some of the dishes. For a $1,200 dishwasher. That is insane. Clean the filter? Yes, we do that about 1 out of every 3 runs, and the filter is a pain to clean. Use rinse agent? Fill it every time it is low. Tub clean on occasion? Too often to count. Try different cycles? Yes, tried many different ones, even the Heavy cycle, which by the way caused the dreaded "AE" code error issue once (and were informed by LG customer support that the Heavy cycle can cause this) so we don't use that cycle anymore. About that "AE" code error also, when we've gotten it, the code DOES NOT GO AWAY. Water around the sensor issue, but after drying around the unit, getting the water issue resolved, you cannot undo the error manually. Seems to work on some 48 hour cycle, so even it you address the problem of the water under the sensor, the dishwasher seems to be programmed to wait an allotted time anyway. Good god - who engineers this stuff? Do they live in a house where you need to have a working dishwasher? Don't get me started on their "outsourced" version of customer service. It is poor every time I call it. I dread calling it. Great LG -- you save a ton of money off-shoring your customer support, regardless of how poorly the support is for your customers. Good luck with that getting you customer loyalty. Stay away from this model, and probably LG.
