Annoyingly LONG CYCLES, like 2-3 hours long?? very strange, but I like everything else about it. So far I like the 3rd rack and the adjustable top rack, very cool and useful feature. It's more quiet than my 22 yr old dishwasher. But not as quiet as the one I originally wanted that is out of stock. If I could do it again I'd opt for a kitchen aid

We purchased an LG LDP68 with most all the bells and whistles. I installed it myself, but ended up NOT using the recommened kit as my washer sits farther from my drain than standard. However, we love this thing! Its nearly silent and cleans very well. Also like the 3rd rack on top, and the middle rack with actual bearings. It even talks to my phone! Time will tell but right now we're extremely happy.

    10-year-warranty is a scam

    Posted .

The machine works well enough. After 3-years of use one of our dishwasher racks is starting to rust and the pump motor started to fail. Supposedly there's a 10-year-warranty on the "direct drive motor." However when you call customer support you'll receive conflicting information on which part is actually under warranty. The labor on diagnosis and replacement would have cost 3x the cost of the new part so I ordered and replaced it myself at my own cost. While trying to get LG to honor the warranty I called customer support 5-6 times. Each time I got directed to a different number or told I would receive a callback within 48 hours. It's been a week and I'm still waiting for a call back. They must have lost my number or something.

The major issue with this dishwasher is that the water is only lukewarm. I spoke to LG about this a couple of months ago and they said that the unit does not heat up any incoming water. It relies on the hot water from the source. This didn't make sense because they have a high temp button on the unit, so what does that do? Is it there just for looks? After that I tried something different and switched the water line from the dedicated dishwasher outlet to the hot water outlet. The results were exactly the same, lukewarm water. For reference, I measured the temperature from the faucet and compared it to the temperature in the dishwasher during a wash cycle. I called customer service and they said, “The dishwasher does not have a heating element”. I told him that I have called on this issue before and they had already told me that. He told me that a technician would come out but if there’s nothing wrong with the itself that I will be charged for it. He kept repeating it over and over. Sounding like he did not want to send someone out., LG’s customer support is outsourced to another country, and although they speak English there is still a communication gap. 4-Stars (Appearance) The look of the dishwasher is sleek and very impressive. 2.5. Stars (Buttons and features) The washer is full of control features and options to fit almost any need. I only have one issue with it, and that is the “High Temp” button. If the unit does not have a heating element and depends on the hot water temp at the water connection from your home, why does it have a High Temp feature. That makes zero sense. 3-Stars: (Adjustable Racks) The bottom and middle rack are very impressive. It’s very easy to adjust the height of these racks to fit your particular needs at the moment. The collapse tines are also a great feature to make adjustments to your load type. The only problem is that they tend to fall over quite easily and may start falling down on their own over time. 2-Stars: (Top Rack) This is probably the main reason I purchased the dishwasher. I use a lot of long utensils and this made a lot of sense. The main issue here is that it does not have a dedicated washer arm. It relies on the second-row washer arm instead, so if you have a lot of dishes on the second row it blocks the water reaching the utensils. You definitely need to pre-scrub any hard food particles off before washing. 4-Stars: (Wi-fi Feature) I do not need to know when my dishes are done or start them remotely, however it does come with the option to custom make your wash cycle. The app could be a little easier to navigate. I have not used it because I am still trying to get the hot water issue resolved first. 4-Stars (Drying) A lot of people have had issues with the unit not drying their dishes. Ironically this is the one area that I have not had an issue with. 1-Star Rinse aid dispenser This is the worst dispenser I have ever used. The hole is so small and it is very difficult to add rinse aid to. The rinse aid bubbles up and just runs down the dishwasher. You have to get just the right angle and go very slowly when adding it into the slot. Not sure what engineer thought this would work. 2-Stars: Overall cleaning: I think if the water was hotter this would increase significantly. I soak and pre wipe my dishes before I put them in the dishwasher so they at least come out looking clean, most of the time. 2-Stars: Overall rating: The dishwasher has a lot going for it, However the lukewarm water issue is its down fall. I hope this issue can get figured out and resolved. A dishwasher that cannot clean and sanitize dishes is basically no use to me. I will update my review if LG is able to come to some type of resolution.

If you have Granite countertops be warned.

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Product works well, no issues there, the brackets to secure the Washer to the countertop/cabinets are either on the sides or on the top corners. If you can't do a side mount and have granite counter tops be warned, every 3rd party mounting bracket I've found doesn't have holes wide enough to mount this too. If you can do a side mount it will work great. but our unit is on an outside wall and the wall is too thin. going to have to go old school and mount wood to the granite to get this to work. not ideal but it will work. just a heads up, otherwise works as designed. We paid for the install, but he could only install the water lines and connected it to the disposal, all of which I have to redue to get it to secure it to the counter top. Glad i'm handy.

Our LG dishwasher is super quiet, and up until, recently were impressed with its washing and drying capabilities. After 3 years and 2 months, we now have to replace the pump (which is not covered by the warranty). The service call, labor and part will cost a total of $350. About 1/3 of the cost of a new dishwasher. Also, note that the normal wash cycle on this dishwasher from beginning to end is over 2 hours.

    New owner - have concerns

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Purchased after our five year old LG broke four months after the extended warranty expired. Prior to that we had been very happy with that dishwasher and the flexibility it offered and generally no complaints on cleaning. I have had this new dishwasher less than 24 hours and came back to the website to look for negative reviews or complaints. The only 1 star review was pretty unhelpful, though I’m not sure he was wrong. We did our first full load last night after running a machine clean cycle first. It was a mishmash of dirty dishes, some were a few days old but nothing crazy. I rinsed first but didn’t wash with a sponge, and then ran on heavy duty setting with steam and extra dry. Several pieces of silver wear still had food on them and need a hand wash, a couple bowls came out not as clean as I’d like, but not terrible. A plastic mixing bowl came out dirty and needs a hand wash. A toddler-type medicine spoon from the top cutlery rack had food inside it from the wash. So I’m not impressed with the cleaning, but some of the dishes had been sitting longer than normal so the verdict it out, but I’ve got major concerns after spending almost $1000. Neither top or bottom rack offer the same flexibility as the last one, and I somewhat regret not keeping the old bottom rack. The silverware basket I don’t like at all. It’s rigid, the handle is in the way and doesn’t move at all and there is no open section for large utensils. You can flip up the silverware ‘guide’ on either side but the handle gets in the way of anything in the middle area. I was fortunately using the old basket to dry my utensils (since I was stuck washing by hand) and am going to use it instead of the new one. I do like how smooth the rack glides run and the dishwasher seems like it’s constructed well, but the adjustable 3rd rack - which has a slide-selector on one side that raises and lowers that half - would raise back up this morning. It was catching in the middle and I had to lift from underneath while pushing slider to get it up. After messing around with it two dozen times trying to see where it was getting hung up, a piece of the mechanism popped out completely and it stopped working. I was able to pop it back into place and it works flawlessly again, but that’s just ridiculous. I’m going to withhold judgement on its cleaning ability until I’ve run a few loads, but this is not confidence inspiring. And Im worried these issues are not isolated but apply to the whole upper-mid tier of LG washers. This has the same tech as the more expensive dishwashers, minus a couple of their features. Has me seriously considering switching brands. Planned obsolescence indeed. If the site allows me to modify a review I’ll update this once I get some use out of it. As of right now, I would not recommend this dishwasher and have serious concerns about the lg lineup. Why did my five year old lower tech dishwasher without ‘quad wash’ or steam do a better job of cleaning?

Loved this diswasher until 5 months ago when it began showing an AE error indicating it detected a leak. This error stops the dishwasher and it beeps and will not continue. After it sits turned off for a few days (dries out) it will work again. Eventually got a repairman out who could not find anything leaking even after he ran a cycle so he replaced the leak sensor for $250. A couple weeks later, the AE error comes on again. As we were about to leave for vacation we left it to be dealt with in a couple weeks. After a few loads being run, it shut down again with the AE error code displayed. Then discovered a securing screw cover on the side of the dishwasher was missing. Found it under the dishwasher and installed it. Dishwasher seemed to be working again. However in a few weeks, the AE code again displayed. Kept trying to fix by adjusting soap usage, making sure filters were kept immaculate. Problem persisted. Called the repairman but since they were out over 60 days prior, they would no longer service it without a new service fee. Really fed up with this issue and see that on you-tube it tends to be a common issue.

Hi, Laura. Thanks for sharing your experience on the LG Dishwasher (LDP6810SS) model. We understand your concern about the ongoing issues with the AE error, especially after replacing the leak sensor and taking other steps to resolve it. Since you’ve already done quite a bit of troubleshooting, it’s possible that there’s a more persistent issue with the leak detection system or internal components.

Given the recurring nature of the issue, we recommend trying the following: Inspect the drain hose to ensure there are no kinks or blockages that could cause water to back up and trigger the leak detection system.
Check the door gasket for any tears or gaps that might let water leak out, causing the system to activate. To obtain more information, you may visit https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/ae-e1-error-code-dish-washer--20150140935066. If these steps don’t resolve the issue, we’d like to help you find a permanent solution. Please send us a private message on social media @LGUSSupport, and we’ll assist in ensuring your dishwasher works like new. ^Juvy LG
