Great when it works
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This dishwasher works well when it runs. It's very quiet, which is nice because some of the cycles run for a long time. It cleans well as long as you select the proper cycle. The "auto" cycle doesn't work that well - dishes still would come out soiled. From the beginning the dishwasher had an issue with the control panel. It was difficult to get a cycle going... I would set the options and press start, but the cycle would not start. There's some glitch where the dishwasher thinks the door was left open, even though it's not. It finally got to the point where I couldn't get the dishwasher to run at all. We put in a service call through LG website, which was thankfully easy. The tech that came out advised me that our dishwasher is the 6th one he saw that same week with the same issue. The control board was replaced, and it works okay but the glitch still occurs from time to time. I hope it doesn't get worse, especially once the warranty runs out.

Better than my 2 BOSCH dishwashers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have had 2 expensive models of BOSH dishwashers so far to which they were good, but this one cleans WAY better. A LOT of people complain that it does not dry all that well, but after reading the directions and how it says in the directions to use rinse aid to help with the drying (since it does not have a heat element to dry the dishes) we used Lemi-Shine rinse aid and we have no issues with it drying. We have found that it washes WAY better than the 2 bosh models that we had before this one. The only thing that we do not like about this dishwasher is that it does not seem to know when the door is closed. After we select the wash cycle and the press the start button, you have 4 seconds to close the door to which then after the door is closed the wash cycle starts. If it does not get closed, then the front LED light blinks for a few minutes then turns off. One quite a few occasions we have closed the door to see the LED light blink, open the door to see the countdown still, press start, close door.. LED light blinks, open door, see countdown, press start, close door, LED light blinks.. It may go on for about 7-12 door shuts before it starts. This only happens about once a week or once every 2 weeks or so. Overall this dishwasher is great, like I said we had 2 more expensive BOSH dishwashers that sucked. This one washes much better, it dries great as long as you read the directions and it seems to perform much better also.

Great dishwasher until it wasn’t…
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a fantastic dishwasher, until it stopped mid – cycle repeatedly. Unfortunately, the cost to repair this dishwasher is close to the purchase price of a new one. Sad that servicing cost so much these days as I’m sure a lot of appliances, like this dishwasher, end up in the landfill unnecessarily. We will replace with another LG dishwasher.

Great so far - wish for a better middle shelf
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, the pros, cleans like a champ. We've taken to minimal pre-rinse, throw it in, and it comes out clean. We haven't had any problems and think we're at about 6mos of ownership. The only real problem we have is the annoyance that there is very little variation in the middle shelf - the glass wear shelf. Most dishwashers vary the height and width of those rows to accomidate the odd mixes of plastic / glass wear, bar glasses, juice glasses, etc... LG doesn't, it's extremely uniform. So, if your stuff doesn't fit, it's kinda annoying every time. And, yes, our stuff, doesn't nicely fit. That's it, thought you should pay attention before you purchase! :-)

Not A Bosch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is so loud. SO LOUD. Compared to the Bosch we had previously, its insane loud. It does clean really well and thr 3rd rack is great. Other than volume the orher big issue is that one of the racks is already rusting after only 2 years.

Work Good until it Didnt
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This machine works great, you just have to do the regular maintenance like cleaning the drain but other than that, it does a good job. Unfortunately you’ll need to get a home shield warranty because my just went out, 3.5 yrs after I bought it and 6 month from warranty ending. The control board just turned off and would turn back on. I was expecting 10 years not I need to rethink that. The low rating is because it just didn’t last and no warranty covers more than 3 yrs.

Cleans incredibly well, when it works!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this dishwasher in October 2017. It cleans dishes really well. Better than our Bosch did. But it has been a nightmare to keep it working. We have had the control board replaced, the soap dispenser cracked and replaced, the variable motor has gone out twice (waiting on the 3rd one), one rack rusted out and was replaced and we are on our second button panel which is once again starting to crack after only a few months. This is absolutely ridiculous! For a dishwasher not even 3 years old (control board and soap dispenser had to be replaced within first year). Variable motors are only lasting 6 months at a time now. We bought an LG package and have had issues with all 4 appliances but the dishwasher has been the worst which is sad because when it works it is really good.

Washes great, but defective (and LG doesn't care!)
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The dishwasher is extremely quiet, and washes much better than the builders model that was installed with our new house. We have always loved and trusted LG products (TVs, Washer/Dryer, Fridge, as you can see from my pic), but unfortunately this dishwasher has developed an issue within the 1 year 'warranty' that LG refuses to address! Cracks have appeared in the control panel, and instead of cheerfully replacing the panel, when contacted by the authorized service firm, they responded that this is a 'cosmetic' issue and is not covered. They even blamed us for 'closing it wrong' (not sure how we could do that, and there are no kids in the house that could have slammed it). LG, to you this may be a 'cosmetic' issue, but hello, cosmetics are a BIG reason why we purchase expensive LG products in the first place. If having cracks and defects in a $700+ dishwasher that is less than one year old is considered normal to you, then by all means buy it (it works great), but I take pride in form as well as function, which evidently LG does not. I guess my biggest disappointment with LG is that they basically don't stand behind the products they sell, and place saving a few bucks trying to 'run out the clock' on a customer's warranty over ruining the reputation of their products. For anyone that cares to see, the pic attached shows the cracks in the dishwasher control panel, as well as a montage of other LG products that we have (but sadly I think we are done with LG)

Passed Thanksgiving
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll start with the bad: the latch is weak. If your unit isn't level, then use something to gently hold the door shut. At first it cleaned pretty good. Then Thanksgiving Day came around. I put my beauty on turbo. I would fill it, turn it on and pull out clean dishes an hour later! Not just dishes. The pots and casseroles and silverware came out clean! By the end of that day and for the first time EVER on Thanksgiving, I went to bed knowing my kitchen was clean. I was not exhausted, but I did have a full belly. I actually had time to sit with my guests/family!

Very disappointed in quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this dishwasher because it was rated very high. And we loved it for a few years. But anfter about three years and control panel started cracking. Then the racks started rusting. Now the motor is going out. We can’t have anyone come out because the serial number came off and we didn’t realize that that was the ONLY place the serial number existed. I called LG and they couldn’t do anything without a serial number. Very very disappointed in their product and customer service. We’re waiting for it to die completely before we purchase a new one. In the mean time I’m looking at reviews and LG keeps coming up as one of the best. Maybe we got a lemon? Bummer because it wasn’t cheap.

Great when it works
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Thank goodness for the Extended Warranty. Just got done with my third service call in 2 years. Installed July 2017. As manufactured, top rack wasn't set right, preventing door from closing all the way. A Few months later the control panel started cracking everywhere, buttons stopped working. 6 months after they replaced the control panel (3 months of use) the new one started cracking in several places propagating from the edges in random spots with one being right across the power button. Which has now just been replaced again. Mind you, this dishwasher is used 6 months out of the year as I work out of town on multi month stints. One year of extended Warranty left. You bet I'll be looking very closely at the control panel. LG acts as though this is a unique issue when I talk to them. I read two other reviews on this site alone, plus the service techs recognize the problem. You better sort it out soon and stop merely replacing panels with the same defective design/materials. These are too expensive of dishwashers to have any problem whatsoever. For those of you with issues LG isn't covering. Report it to your state attorney general consumer affairs division. Most states have a simple online form to fill out and they will lean on LG if several reports are collected.

Poor Durability
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very attractive appliance - which is what sells it in the store. When you get it installed and begin using it, it becomes fussy. The door latch does not like to close, and tolerances between the lower rack and the door are too tight. We had three LG Service calls during the warranty period for the door latch. Just outside of the 1 year warranty period, the control panel cracked (as you also read here in another review). Then 3 weeks after the crack the dishwasher stopped working. So sorry, out of warranty says LG support. I have an independent appliance repairman (LG Recommended) charge me $ 125 to come out and tell me the control modules and non-replaceable fuses on the computer boards are fried, due to that crack in the control panel. "Too costly to fix" he says "Get a new dishwasher". So at 14 months of age, this LG went to the dump and was discarded and replaced with a Kitchenaid that has no door latching issues. If you decide to buy this unit, better buy the extended warranty because you will need it. LG is all done with backing the product on the 366th day of ownership.

Broke again
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you read the one star reviews, you will see a common thread. I bought mine 9/12/2018. Mine broke, just like the others, after about 2 month's use. Then the fight started. I had to enlist the help of a paralegal to get the thing repaired months later. It has worked well, except for a whine, for about a year. It died again this weekend. Same problem. The control panel is defective. This is a design flaw and LG obviously doesn't care. I will call the Geek Squad for help tomorrow. It does make a convenient drying rack and dries the dishes if you leave the doors open and the slides out. This was the last LG anything I will ever buy.

Super Quiet!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have had this dishwasher less than a week, but so far so good. I did not know a dishwasher could be so quiet.. . Dare I say silent! Installation was straight forward. I did it myself, and I am a 45 year old woman. We bought it in black stainless, and it is beautiful. I sure hope it holds up for 10 yrs like my last one did!

Wish I had gone back with a Bosch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a Bosch dishwasher for almost 6 years. The panel LED board finally went bad and left me in need of a new dishwasher. Part of the Bosch LED had gone bad pretty quickly, so I decided I would try a different brand. My two criteria were quietness and getting dishes clean. I opted with this dishwasher because it had a 44db rating - one of the quietest and also had good reviews on getting dishes clean. I've now used my dishwasher 3 times and it is definitely not 44 db. It is not quiet. It is much louder than my Bosch. My dishes are clean - but the cycle takes over 3 hours and each time the dishes are sopping wet after the cycle is complete - even with the 'extra drying' on. For the price of this dishwasher, I wish I had gone back to the wonderful tried and true Bosch. Don't waste your money on this one - get a Bosch.

RUN AWAY
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Words cannot describe how disappointed I am with this dishwasher, I've owned it for 4 years and have had nothing but problems with it. LG's very limited warranty is next to useless and I could have purchased 3 of these with the money I've spent on service calls. Not to mention the extended periods of not having a dishwasher. I own LG fridges and TVs and have been happy with their quality up until this dishwasher. When it works, it's great, but that is not very often. Highly recommend NOT buying a LG Dishwasher.

Great customer service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best buy sold a damage open box LG dishwasher floor model. The paper work read good condition. The installation guy took one look and said that the top of the washer should not be caved in. The third top rack inside the unit will not deploy out. Contacted Best Buy. They replaced the unit with a brand new one. Great customer service
