Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the overall performance, size, and design of the 25.5 Cu. Ft. Bottom-Freezer Refrigerator with Ice Maker. Many appreciate the ample internal space, quiet operation, and effective ice maker. The temperature control and lighting are also well-received. However, some customers have noted that the door seal can be quite tight, making the door difficult to open.

Delivery delayed 3 days, no real reason given. Item arrived with broken door storage bin, which Best Buy replaced. Found 4 minor dents on front of main door and bottom freezer door. Would buy other items from Best Buy but not if delivered by this last bunch.

Quiet. Solid appliance. Good Capacity. Looks nice. Ice Maker can be a little louder than one may expect but that only happens when replenishing. Has not happened while sleeping. Fridge door seals so tight it can be hard to open.

I bought this on sale to replace a 27 year old bottom freezer Amana refrigerator (which still worked but was pretty beat up). The pull-out bottom freezer allows for much more convenient access than the swing-open door of the older refrigerator. I considered French door models, which tend to be more expensive. They require more overall gasket length due to the center split (which IMO is a potential maintenance and energy efficiency issue). Plus, the double doors apparently can have alignment and leveling issues. I considered a Maytag bottom-freezer model but it was not available when I wanted it. All things being equal (or nearly so) I'd have preferred to buy an appliance made (mostly) in USA. I'm not sure where the LGs and their parts are sourced/assembled. Korea? Installation: Due to Covid-19 concerns, I instructed the delivery crew to let me remove the protective tape and plastic film. I did not realize what I was in for. It took about an hour to peel it all off. Plastic clips (or something like that) would have made things easier. I did not opt for automatic ice maker hook-up. I use ice cube trays (to save space, reduce noise, and eliminate the chance of a leaky water supply). The installers did not level it. Following instructions taped to the door, I tried turning the leveling legs with a flat blade screwdriver. However, the slotted leveling knobs are plastic, so a screwdriver easily bends the slots. More detailed instructions call for an open end wrench, but for that you may need an inexpensive custom LG wrench (or something equally slim). I've ordered one from Amazon. Really, it should have been included. Meanwhile, until properly leveled, the doors won't swing shut automatically. Interior Shelving: It seems sturdy enough and is supposed to be "spill proof". The adjustability is fairly limited. Most shelves are full width, so you cannot stagger them at different levels to accommodate items of different heights. Single, full width shelves may be a little easier to wipe down inside, but will be harder to remove and fit in a sink for thorough cleaning. For some families, a half width deli drawer may be more desirable than the full width deli drawer at the bottom. A smaller deli drawer, placed higher up, might have allowed for deeper fruit and vegetable bins (which are not all that big for a refrigerator of this size). Exterior: The stainless steel really does seem to resist finger prints. Fridge magnets do stick both to the sides and the front. Yay! The doors are easy enough to open and shut (they don't require a firm yank as some new refrigerators do). There is no removable dust cover/grill at the very bottom. Good, because it allows for easier access to vacuum. Bad, because it will let in more dust (along with cat toys, fridge magnets, etc.) Cooling: After about 18 hours, the refrigerator still has not reached a consistent 37 degree set point. A review of a similar model (on CNET I think) notes that cooling performance is not as good as similar models in prior years. Maybe it will hit the recommended 37 after adding more food and cranking it down to, say, 35. Noise: Consumer Reports gave a similar model an Excellent score for noise. So far, it does not seem to be quieter than the 27 year old unit it replaced. It is not really louder overall, but has a higher pitched hum that is a little more annoying up close. Bottom line: This seems to be one of the better options among bottom freezer models at this size and price point. Could be better though.

This refrigerator is a nice looking fridge. It has a lot of room and it keeps everything cold. The ice maker isn’t that loud it sounds like a glass clinking with a little moan. The reason I gave it a 4 is due to the fridge door locks when you have it open for a period of time or when it is humid. It will open after a minute. It’s an annoying feature. Overall, I look the appearance and how big the refrigerator is.

I purchased this refrigerator for my mom as a birthday present. She loves almost everything about it. The only thing that has taken some getting used to is the refrigerator door sealing (locking) after it's been opened (it seals closed like the doors in the frozen section of some supermarkets) and takes some time before it can be opened again with ease. Other than that very small complaint from her (not a deal breaker at all), it's worked out great for her. My personal complaint, however, was with the purchasing process. I ordered the refrigerator online and was given a delivery date 3 weeks out. A day or so before delivery, I received a call saying that the fridge was on backorder and it wouldn't be available for another 2 MONTHS...super frustrating. I almost canceled my order but decided against it and once it was finally delivered, mom was super happy. I'm glad we waited after all.

Super big, love, love this refrigerator, keeps everything super cold, only drawback is when you open the door and shut it, don’t forget anything because you can’t immediately get door open it seals that tightly, you just have to wait a minute to reopen.

This refrigerator has worked well for us. Just be sure that you close the doors well. A couple of times we have noticed the doors closing within only within a quarter inch. This is not common but it has happened.

Its been about a month and my wife is surprised by the amount of space that the unit has. It seems both the freezer and fridge sections have plenty of space. My wife commented that the unit after the first few days took more than a day to start producing ice but once it did, it is fairly plentiful now. Storage seems much better than our older French door unit's freezer and the fridge seems empty even with stuff in it. The ice maker does make odd noises when kicking on or off, like something broke but it seems fine. The fridge's lower drawer under the vegetables, we thought we wouldn't use but surprisingly have found it convenient. The one thing, we both noticed is that when it kept open too long it pings, which is no problem but the other thing is that when either the fridge or freezer closes on its own or shut with too quickly, its like the closure causes a vacuum effect inside preventing immediate opening of fridge or freezer drawer. We have to make sure we either get everything in or wait a few minutes longer before trying to reopen.

Love! This one is pictured with the handle on the left but it can be switched to the right, which we did. The instructions are not as clear but not impossible. We couldn’t figure out the bottom, until we did. The door space is different and less than our old one, but we just need to adjust. The shelves have lots of space, but drawers do not.

    Disappointing Quality

I'm really disappointed in the quality of my LG Fridge & Stove. The configuration of the fridge interior is NOT OPTIMAL at all ... SHELVES - First thing that shocked me is the shelves are not even glass, they are plastic! They don't even have a support or bracket down the center, so they bend under the weight of anything remotely heavy such as a casserole dish etc... I feel it's just a matter of time before they snap or crack. Also, the 2 main shelves cannot hold anything taller than 10 inches, so if you're a soda drinker, you won't be fitting any 2 litter bottles. DRAWERS - I can't even use the bottom draw it's so shallow. It barely has a 3 clearance. Maybe good for flat items only, but even then you can't stack them or the drawer won't open. The other 2 drawers are fine, albeit cramped, but 2 drawers are not enough.... DOOR - Shelves on the door are just as compact, not really allowing for anything too tall. They have dividers, which would be great except they have a lip on the bottom which sucks up about 1 inch of storage space on each side! Another oddity...at the bottom of door interior, there is this very odd long, but shallow pocket. I'm not quite sure what it's for or what might fit in it. It's about 26" in width, but only 1 3/4 inch in depth. FREEZER is okay....Ice tray takes up 50% of the top drawer which is excessive. A bin 1/2 the size would have been sufficient, allowing for added storage space for more important items, like meat! NOISE - when the motor kicks on, which is frequently, it sounds like there's a car running in my kitchen. When I called customer service about it, they wanted to send out a technician to repair it. I thought "Do I want a fridge that already needs a repair within less than 2 weeks of use??". It's a good looking fridge, can't complain about that. But it only offers right-to-left opening door.... if you need it to open right-to-left, Best Buy will charge you $50 to flip it. My biggest worry at this point is that the quality of the interior is not going to be able to withstand the test of time. By the feel of the plastic, I'll be lucky if it lasts a year without breakage somewhere :((

This is a good basic fridge. No frills, but lots of space up top and down below for it's size. Oddly enough too, as it is a stainless steel, the front and sides work with fridge magnets. The one slight annoyance is if you get into the top or bottom, close it and then try a second later, it appears to be stuck. You have to pull really hard. It is the fridge trying to seal itself.

The refrigerator and freezer keep temperature well. However, you can't open either door twice in a row (or one then the other). The doors seal up for about a minute after each use. I requested warranty repairs from LG; their service company said they don't service this model. Multiple follow-up calls yielded no result. I feel abandoned by them.

Nice looking refrigerator. Spacious and holds everything we needed. But, it makes very obnoxious loud noise. Top and bottom doors stick and the whole refrigerator comes forward when trying to open (very annoying). I am returning and upgrading to a better LG model. Not terrible but not great either.
