    Black Stainless Peels!

    BEWARE! The black stainless finish peels off! I paid almost $4000 for new black stainless LG appliances and within one year the black stainless coating started to peel on both my refrigerator and my microwave. I had a repair done on my microwave because the display went out and I asked them to replace the door since it was peeling and I was told that the paint is not covered under warranty. After researching on the LG forums, this is a HUGE problem and LG is doing anything about it. I would absolutely steer clear of LG products.... I will never again buy anything made by this company.

    Do yourself a favor and don’t buy this one!

    We’ve had to call LG service/warranty 3 times for the same issue (fridge is very quiet at first, then it starts to make a loud noise while fan is running, because it causes ice to build up on the back wall of the freezer).I’m now hoping that it happens 2 more times, so we can use the Lemon Law and get a new one or our money back. Also, the last time they fixed the issue it triggered the lower ice maker to quit working. So that’s a completely different problem that is still waiting to be fixed. And note, we bought this brand new on Nov 30 2019 but it didn’t get delivered until first part of December.

    Make sure drawers slide

    Our fridge has a defect. The drawer will not slide in because it bumps into the shelf. Now I have to wait two months for a replacement to be available.

    So, I have had this 2 years. The cooling fan has given me issues since day one. I had read it could be loud, as the fan touches the mount and looses balance over time. What isn’t said, is that eventually the fan will wear out due to the friction. This will result in an out of warranty service call. Also, the bottom ice machine motor wore out on month 11 after purchase. I do not recommend this product.

    I bought a "stainless" steel Refrigerator manufactured by LG six months ago (it's new!) and the door is RUSTING! I talked to six people in Customer Service who kept telling me to call Best Buy who kept telling me to call LG. This is a problem of faulty materials, NOT a cosmetic issue. This is plain bad manufacturing using extremely bad material. I never expected this terrible service and quality when I bought a higher end LG product in good faith. Is there a class action lawsuit? I'm seeing lots of customers have this problem, with people eventually resigning themselves to a new refrigerator that always looks dirty.

    I like it but it seems a bit short on storage. Also the water and ice maker leaves a mess!! I wish the opening was smaller to fit smaller openings on cups.

    Error Code In 9 Months, Repair Process Awful

    First we bought the fridge without seeing it in person. The color says it’s “black stainless steel” but it’s really just a dark grey. Not a big deal if you want a grey fridge. We had an error code pop up after only 9 months. I troubleshooted it on the LG website and it said it is likely just frost buildup and to defrost it overnight. Unplugged it, emptied it and left the doors open for more than 24 hours. Plugged it back in, heard the fan make an awful noise soon after and then the error code came back. Submitted a warrant repair request (thank god it happened before warranty expired, I guess) and LG said they would reach out to schedule a technician. More than 3 weeks later and no call, no follow up, no response to my “chats” or phone calls. Just a $2,600 fridge that won’t cool. Best of luck to anyone buying this fridge.

    Great refrigerator/freezer with perfect ice cubes but water barely dispenses from the fridge door. Takes 5 minutes to fill an 8 ounce cup. Contacted LG and the call center operator was no help at all. Says I need to hire a plumber. Gee, thanks !

    Off to a rocky start. The lettuce froze when we left it out of the crisper drawer. Now the ice maker in the door has frozen up. When we removed it to break up the ice chunks, the ice maker cycled and scattered more ice cubes all over the place. Quite a mess in its first month of use. With the big price increase to have an ice dispenser in the refrigerator door, I would have expected a lot better product.

    The refrigerator is so pretty. I love the stainless steel. The only thing is that it takes long to make ice and it’s a little loud in the process of making ice.

    Good design but key expectation from refrigerator is to stay silent. I got rid of my old one just because I couldn’t tolerate the sound and this one disappointed me as well. Humming sound stays for hours and is audible across rooms. Called geek squad technician and they claimed it as by design. Planning to call technician again. Might just need to dump this in worst case. Online search reveals similar complains on a number of LG refrigerators

    The refrigerator is really nice. My review is 2 stars because 1 year and 2 months later my ice fan broke. This repair is costing me $350. The warranty on the fridge is one year.
