We looked at Samsung too and there’s no competition - LGs engineering in this area is just too good. The ice maker is discreet, the filter hidden, and the end result is a TON of space in a compact frame. The fridge works perfectly - huge room, the dual ice makers are great. Only one issue - and something I did not realize when ordering online: the control panel is not touch screen or touch-sensitive. Instead it’s a thin layer of plastic over buttons. This is a small thing, but detracts from the overall feel of quality. I didn’t want to return over such a small issue, but I wish it had been clear online that this model had that. If I had known, I would have ponied up for the more expensive mode with the actual touch controls. I know it sounds minor (and it is) but it’s the only negative I have for this fridge. Outside of that - I can’t recommend it enough.

One Minor Problem

First, the right side door will not close on its own. You have to push it closed (definitely heard the door alarm quite a few time the first couple of weeks) After doing some research I discovered this is by design as per LG. Second, the left side door will slam if closed on its own with the right side door open. We learned that you either hold the door and slow its closing or close the right door first. Probably could have been designed better by LG but is definitely not a deal breaker. Confirmed same operation of fridge in two different stores. Every other aspect of this fridge performs as advertised.

It is quiet and spacious (probably because we're coming from a 19 cu. ft.) The water and ice maker are quiet. I love having the two ice makers. As long as it keeps performing well I will stick with this brand.

After having lived with a side-by-side GE and then Frigidaire for over 4 years, I was done with side-by-sides. I always had to angle my body into the fridge and it was annoying. If you have enough clearance to get a French door fridge (to open both doors ALL THE WAY), then I highly recommend getting a French door fridge. However, there is some adjustment needed when transitioning from a side-by-side, since you would be used to having lots of compartments/shelves with a side-by-side. The freezer in this one is basically one big bucket (yeah, there's a drawer, and there is a "divider," but whatever). This one is quiet and the print-resistant SS finish is amazing. It is also keeping our food colder than our 1-yr old Frigidaire. Do make sure your water pressure/flow is good. Our dispenser is not dispensing water (it takes over 8 seconds to fill 2 ounces of water), but we suspect it's not the fridge. We had the same problem with the Frigidaire.

I love the dual ice maker, the black stainless steel color, the option to dispense either crushed or cubed ice or water from the refrigerator door. The large separate freezer and all the other features this affordable fridge has makes this an excellent choice.

This refrigerator has been making noise since the first year purchased which was 2021. It’s just getting louder and louder. It’s starts when the ice maker starts working but it’s not the ice itself it’s a motor type of noise. We were told that it’s normal so we didn’t complain again. The water isn’t cold either. After the second cup it is pointless. Sad but true.
