    I'm super confused

    This was delivered literally 2 hours ago. We are still waiting for it to cool to return the items in it. So far, it's attractive. However, I read reviews online and specifically purchased this because it said it WAS magnetic. I chose this over the knock on door model, and a hub, so we would have more magnetic space. I am devastated to find it is indeed NOT magnetic. That's my first observation. I have now spent 2 hours online trying to find a large enough sheet of magnetic covering to hold our collection. Pretty sad.

    Buyer Beware: we have owned an lg french door refrigerator for less than 4 years. it’s a great refrigerator when it works but the compressor has broken twice. two yrs ago when the first compressor repair was done, even the technician said these were junk. a year and a half later it broke down. you think you are safe with your best buy warranty, but lg service call centers are all in the philippines. they have no way of communicating with technicians except through dispatch. no matter who you speak to they all sound like the read from a script. appointments are made but no one shows up. to make matters worse, you would think best buy would advocate for you, but when you tell them that you can’t get a reasonable service date, they tell you it is out of their hands. i will no longer buy from best buy or buy any lg product.

    Note: Best Buy won't let you include any colorful words in a review (no matter how much the product might deserve said words), so any word in quotes is a word that was changed to protect Best Buy's delicate sensibilities. You should be able to figure out what I actually wanted to say. We bought this refrigerator a few months ago, and while it is attractive, roomy, and fairly well-designed, it does have a couple of problems, one of which is annoying as "heck." First, the in-door ice maker jams constantly. We have to open it up and unjam it practically every other day. Second, the surface is so painfully delicate, it scratches if you look at it wrong. But neither of those is the worst thing. No, that would be the unbelievably annoying “ding-dong, ding-dong” sound that emits loudly every time the door is open for longer than 60 seconds (and yes, I timed it). It is the Alarm From "Heck," and while its purpose is to alert you if you leave the refrigerator open, the mentally-deficient engineer who designed it has apparently never had to put away groceries or clean out a refrigerator. I cannot stress strongly enough how infuriating it is to lug in a bunch of groceries, and then to be electronically "barked" at the whole time I'm putting them away. I have literally taken to putting two items in, quickly closing the door, opening it again to put away two more items, quickly closing it again, repeat, repeat, repeat ad nauseum. My husband did a search online to see if there is any way to adjust the amount of time you are given before it starts shrieking, but apparently there isn't (that would make far too much sense!). Evidently, 60 seconds is believed by LG to be the maximum length of time needed to put away a trunkload of groceries. If you buy this "dang" thing, I hope you are faster than I am!

    Dowsn't last and hard to get parts for

    The fridge operated exceptionally well for 3 years (1 year out of warranty and 7 years short of what we thought the unit would last). Geek Squad came out several times and replaced parts but fridge still wasn't working. The ordered the brain and the part that came in was not the right part. They are still waiting for the part. The service Rep, Brandon, is super and great to deal with. The fridge however is not living up to expectations. We have been without a fridge since mid November 2023 and it's almost mid January 2024 and still no working fridge. Had to buy another brand because we just don't think LG has it together on building refrigerators. I only hope our new LG washer and dryers work longer than the fridge.

    nothing special

    I am writing this review 3 1/2 years into owning it. Fridge space is nice and seems to work fine. The door shelves though are starting to crack, and one broke completely and is unusable now. They were not holding unusual weight... just some salad dressings etc. Also, we are not able to use the water dispenser... as the water tastes heavily of plastic. This is still the case all these years later. I find these sort of things unacceptable when paying more for a product than average... because of their supposed superior quality. All the LG products in my kitchen are cheaply made, and not better than a lot of cheaper stuff out there. They start to fall apart very quickly. They look pretty, that's about it.

    I was excited to get my first LG appliance and for a week we were happy until the icemaker broke. Best Buy had it replaced. The next 3 months went well until the compressor went dead. LG replaced that. 2 weeks later here we are needing a controller board which is back ordered. We are being told it could be another 2-4 weeks until it arrives. With kids, going a month without a fridge is simply put, ridiculous. Can't tell you how disappointed we are. What happened to the days when our appliances lasted 20 years, not 5 months?

    Great fridge, terrible ice maker.

    Great fridge - Freezer drawer ice maker has broken 2x. Really like this fridge, but the main ice maker in the freezer drawer has some sort of a design flaw. It makes ice, but will not dump the ice. We replaced the ice maker once already and within 6 months it is again broken. We have to manually force the ice to dump. Frustrating, but not worth paying to repair a second time.

    Cheap Materials used

    Good fridge, but it's true when they say they don't make things like they used to. The stainless steel material used is shockingly thin. Dents extremely easily. And when I mean easily, I mean my son uses a plastic Target step stool to get snacks and if it taps the stainless steel door, it'll dent. We've had it for a few months and we already have multiple dents in the fridge and my kids are not rough and we're careful! Be prepared to have to replace the doors in the future.

    LG WARRANTY SERVICE IS EXTREMELY POOR!

    We bought this refrigerator in November 2020. Overall, we are very pleased with the unit. However, over the past few months, the lower (craft) ice maker has become louder and is vibrating items inside of the refrigerator. I understand that sometimes things break and need to be fixed, even brand new items. And why should we be concerned? After all, it's under warranty. This is where LG has disappointed us. It took over one hour on the phone to set up a service call and nearly two weeks to get a service person out for repair. And the service company LG is using didn't call us. We had to call them. LG products seem to be fine. But, beware... LG WARRANTY SERVICE IS EXTREMELY POOR. And because of that I cannot recommend their products, nor would I ever buy one again.

    Breaks down alot

    I have had this refrigerator since 2020 and I have had to fix various things like the ice maker, water dispenser, door swing and light broke the first year. The inside material is not that great. I would think about buying this iteam as it is not the best.

    Major Repair bill after 2 1/2 years of use

    We purchased our LG French Door non WIFI frig 2.5 years ago. We were very pleased with the LG product until this week. The compressor has failed and needs to be replaced. I'm not opposed to a repair but only after 2.5 years and a major repair bill is not a good value.

    Do not waste your money on LG. They build unreliable refrigerators and do not stand behind their product. They have had multiple lawsuits issued because of their compressors failing yearly. Their repairmen are no longer working for this company because they are not getting paid. Stay away!
