    At a lost with this fridge. Defective product

    Purchased this fridge in late 2015. Within 2+ years I already experience issues such as Ice making stopped making ice, irregular cooling in the fridge side where vegetables were almost frozen which I never touched the temperature settings. Last year the entire unit stopped cooling. I called my local Best Buy to check if i had a protection which they said i did not (however i had a 5 year protection plan) . I contacted LG directly which they replaced the compressor (maybe something else). It has been working fine since last April until last week where the ice maker stopped working and the freezer stopped freezing. I called for service which the tech came 11/22 confirmed my ice maker was broken. he ordered a new ice maker came today 11/27. Once plugged in and the new ice make would not power up and he stated it may be the power from the door and a new door may need to be replaced along with a new compressor. This is unacceptable for a fridge having so many issues within 4 years. At this point I dont know if my fridge is defective lemon and if it needs to be replaced entirely by LG.

    I purchased this fridge on Black Friday and was so very excited to get a new fridge! This has turned into a long drawn out saga that Best Buy is handling the best they can. The first fridge was delivered in early December and the fridge door did not seal. Best Buy came back out and after trying to fix it for an hour, determined it was defective. The second fridge delivered last week. Best Buy came back out today because the second fridge does not seal shut and determined this fridge is also defective. Saturday will be the third fridge delivered. The fridge does not seal so there is condensation in the fridge and everything is wet. Best Buy gave me a spare insignia fridge to use while they continue to deliver me defective LG fridges. While this is a nice gesture, I just want the fridge I ordered to work. If the third fridge comes in defective, I will be exchanging it for a different brand all together. I expected better based on the reviews I received. I do not recommend this fridge and my experience with LG is not one I can recommend.

    First defective unit water leaking .. second defective unit didn’t make ice not did it dispense water. Terrible experience

    I purchased the fridge on 09/28/2018, was installed early October 2018. Now we are in 09/2020 and fridge no longer cools. Started with not making ice (i would reset the ice maker and it would work at times). Through the day i noticed that the inside was getting less cool. Well 3 days later, the fridge stopped cooling altogether. What kind of company sells defective products. I pay so much for this product thinking it should last much longer than my old one that last over 10 years. But no after 2 years, the fridge is garbage. I tried reaching out to LG, i have yet to hear back. I look up review and sites with information about this fridge and is a disaster. I keep reading that although parts are replaced (big parts like the compressor), the fridge will eventually stop working again. What a huge disappointment.

    Think Twice Before Buying!!! Buy Another Brand!!!

    I am completely disappointed with the quality of this LG fridge. From the very beginning this purchase was a disaster. The fridge broke down on us 3 separate times within a 2-3 month span. All 3 of those times the fridge was stocked full of groceries. LG's response was less than acceptable. They had technicians come to the house to repair but it was like an in-person call center operator or like a robot with a wrench. He had a checklist to go through which is understandable but he had to "stick to LG's policy" which was completely ridiculous because he and I both knew the fridge was defective. LG just didn't want to pay for it to be corrected. Luckily we called Pacific and they ended up replacing the fridge within 24 hours. Now only 4 years later the SECOND FRIDGE HAS STOPPED WORKING. This time with roughly $400-$500 worth of groceries in it. Rather than fighting LG's terrible warranty team again, my wife and I decided to just go ahead an buy a new fridge and IT WON'T BE AN LG!!! Do yourself a favor and save yourself a lot of headache and pass over this fridge and LG in general.

    Very Disappointed With LG

    This refrigerator was working so well, then it started shutting down on us. It went from replacing the filter to the freezer not getting cold, then to the refrigerator not staying cool. Food in the freezer had to be thrown out, as well as in the refrigerator. No one is trying to get sick off of bad food. This refrigerator is most definitely defective. We haven't had this refrigerator for 5 years. I most definitely agree with the other reviews that had the same issues. Trying to resolve these issues have become so much of a hassle, I had to purchase another refrigerator. I will be receiving another brand refrigerator much faster than I am supposed to have the refrigerator repair service. This is very much an inconvenience and disappointing.

    Product was Defective and Almost Killed Me

    I could have died this product was defective and plastic from the ice maker got in my water. I was choked and my throat cut by a piece of plastic that broke loose from the ice maker top cover. I do not recommend this product there was a design change (i.e. material change) that was done in 2018 to the top cover. The quality on this unit was very poor. LG offered me $500 for my pain, suffering, and inconvenience, which was a slap in my face. This whole ordeal has taken too much time. I was finally provided a refund for the defective unit, but they did not provide any interest for the 2 months that it took them to give me a check. When they sent a company to pick up the defective unit almost $5,000 worth of damage was done to my home (i.e. new refrigerator was scratched, molding/trim damage, custom pre-hung door damaged and threshold damaged and broken), which has not been paid. LG said it is not their responsibility, but yet they sent the company to my home. It is their responsibility from the beginning to the end. I wonder how many people have to actually die before they do something.

    I bought this refrigerator because my parents had last year's model and love it. You can only put water jugs in the door and it isn't user friendly. It was ended up broken since day one and I ended up having to pick out another refrigerator. Only reason I recommending you want the room and I liked the ice in the door

    Don't bother - Failed after a year

    The unit failed. The fridge hasn't worked properly in 2 months and we've had to use the freezer as a fridge. We purchased an extended warranty and after several appointments and missed days from work, we're still without a working fridge. You've been warned.
