We purchased this refrigerator in November for our new home. The delivery based on availability was not until January. Because of this I believe we may be outside of the return period. We are very disappointed with this side by side refrigerator/freezer. The ice lock doesn’t work properly and there is no way to lock the water. Both which we discovered while wiping down the refrigerator. The water is also quite messy as it splashes all over the floor. We have hardwood floors and over time this splashing won’t be good for our floors. I wish we could return or exchange this refrigerator. The functions don’t work, we thought we were getting a more than basic system for the price however we ended up with a pretty basic refrigerator. Ice says off in photo however ice still comes out. Future buyer be aware.

Paid extra for excellent condition received obviously used and coating worn off on areas with several severe dents. It was not in excellent condition. Like the product overall except the water from the door is so slow its not worth using it.

Freezer was damage the company pick aut My new frezer samsund is exelent.

I do like this refrigerator but the ice machine has gone out on me twice in two years.

The fridge showed up an hour after I got a call saying “be there in 10 mins”. The door is misaligned and dented. Very disappointed. The fridge is now sold out and Best Buy is doing nothing to fix this.

My old GE refrigerator finally died after 14 years and my oh my have refrigerators changed over the years. We had an internal ice maker and that is about all the trills we had. The old one was a side by side also. So.. about the LG... Very nice unit. Plenty of room for us. We are a family of 2 and the unit is way more than enough space. The little door has become very handy as we put stuff that we get often in those shelves. Needless the say the wife loves it. The filter is easy to get to and replace. My old one was in the back and needed extra work to replace the inline filter. I read reviews that this unit was loud. Mine is fine. Actually quieter than my old GE. Another complaint I read about was the ice maker. Not enough ice. I found that not to be an issue and my wife goes through what I feel is a significant amount of ice during the day. One issue I have is the little door. Although convenient, the latch mechanism is goofy. Unlike the big door that will close mostly on its own, the mini door has to be pushed closed. So if you simply grab some milk and swing it closed with your elbow, well it ain't gonna close. You NEED to go back and push it closed and has to click. My wife says we don't have kids living at home anymore so us responsible adults can handle a little responsibility and make sure the door is closed. ( I guess that was meant for me.). So.. we still have it. Second issue I have is the front door lets you set the temperature but does not display what it currently is at. It would be nice to know the inside temperature. - In a nutshell.. great unit so far. Seems very well made.and if it broke I would probably buy another one.

We had to find a refrigerator that would fit through our 1960 30 inch door without all the fan fare of dismantling all the doors. We took out some of the frame to the pocket door and she squeaked right through with no margin for error. Just shy of 29.75". We had to go side by side because the spot she was moving into was at max with the width and depth due to our original poorly laid out kitchen plan. The previous refrigerator was signicantly smaller and you still couldn't fully open the doors without hitting the peninsula/island in front of it. Got it in place, hooked up the water line and primed and purged the system as required. Now we wait for Ice and cold water. Took about a day to get really up and running with ice since we had to dump the first batch. We did see bits of white plastic come out, and after 3 weeks, the water is now starting. Not to taste like new plastic. But we're. Not complaining because we didn't have ice or water before and we're thrilled with that. The door in door is cool. Like other's said make sure you close it securely as it doesn't grip at closing like the main door. Watch it when getting water. Surprised at where it comes out from and it has a hair trigger! Lean in the wrong way and you're wet. Wild that you would have to, but train your unfamiliar guests unless you plan to "shower" them or have water on the floor. Tons of storage, with a catch. If you're a cook and need to store pans or trays of food, move on to the French doors, you might be just shy on a large pan going in deep if you have handles on it. Door will not shut. Don't even think about putting it in sideways, you'll need the French door version. At the top of my list, I also like that the icemaker is built into the door and doesn't take up my valuable shelf space. That was a must. I Wish other manufacturers would Knock it Off with that design element. I didn't mind that I had to switch Brands to get it. Overall, we're quite pleased!

We are absolutely in love with our new refrigerator! I love the door-in-door feature. It keeps the fridge from running too often but when it does, boy is it quiet! We love the draws in the fridge that’s great for veggies and fruit. The ice maker is still an ice maker, can’t get away from all the noise, but it is very efficient and refills very fast. The water filtration on the door is very nice and cool. It’s not fingerprint resistant so cleaning is necessary from time to time on the outside. The lighting on the inside of the fridge is very nice. We also love that you can access your items in the door-in-door from the inside. Overall an excellent purchase that we are very very happy about! Would also like to note that I LOVE the service and delivery we received from Best Buy. It was easy to manage and we received several notifications as well as a call. Easy to understand and they were very efficient and quick while installing and hauling away our old fridge! Will definitely purchase from Best Buy again!

The practical door design, I'm sure, contributed to the energy rating and the low yearly cost of operation. The ice maker and water dispenser work as expected, are placed well and are easy to use, although a bowl is to wide to fit in the opening and press the dispense plate. The unit is very quiet. Installation was a breeze as we already had a conveniently placed in-wall water line. Thanksgiving will tell, but I'm pretty sure there is plenty of room for all of the left overs :) Our BestBuy experience was exceptional. The BestBuy staff were quick to ask if we wanted assistance. We came in for a mouse... We got a GREAT open-box deal(some dings) and the BestBuy staff were polite and professional. The delivery service was pretty exceptional as well. They used straps to move the not so small unit and did not have to take off any doors ( fridge or house). They to were polite and professional, actually nice. Of note, they were efficient, actually more like fast.

We bought the LG Door in door refrigerator and went from a 29 cu ft. to a 26 cu ft and were surprised how we have just as much space as we did in our previous refrigerator. Pros: roomy Lighting is great and you can even see in the back Ice maker does a decent job Door in door in the thing you never knew you needed until you have it! Great for storing drinks, condiments, etc making them easily accessible without opening the main refrigerator. Shelves are adjustable and easy to wipe off Outside is attractive and the refrigerator is quiet when running Cons: the stickers LG puts on the front which take some effort to fully remove. Overall, very happy with our purchase of this refrigerator!

After 8 months of owning this refrigerator, I'm compelled to write a review. I wanted a boring old Whirlpool because of the amazing reviews and the reputation for quality, but my girlfriend wanted something more fancy, so we agreed on this refrigerator. I picked it because it has a large capacity, standard tall freezer because I hate the french door freezers, ice maker in the freezer and not in the fridge, and I like the door in door feature for condiments, juice boxes etc. So far everything works as it should, it cools and freezes great, no issues with ice maker, and lots of room. Now here is my complaint.....it is NOISY!!! It is astounding how many whooshing, groaning, clicking, popping, and other wierd noises this thing makes. When I first bought it I can't tell you how many times I had to mute the TV because I thought something was broken in the house and it turned out to be the refrigerator. And when you dispense the ice it makes this bizarre whistling noise. When you go on the LG website to troubleshoot, they have a WHOLE LIST of "acceptable" noises that this refrigerator makes. Come on, LG....it's the 21st century....can't you make a fridge that's less noisy than the old clunky refrigerators I grew up with? My other complaint is that the ice maker has a light, but the water dispenser is above that and has no light, so if you want water at night you need to turn a light on or run the risk of missing your glass and squirting water onto the floor. And the last complaint is that the shelf configuration is a bit weird...I like my drinks on the top shelf, but in order to make it tall enough to put gallons of milk, two liter sodas, etc you have to use up two of the shelf supports, which means you lose a shelf or else you have one very narrow shelf which is not that useful. Other than that, this is an attractive refrigerator that works well, it's just noisy.

We absolutely love our refrigerator. The drink door makes it easy to get drinks and save energy. The water and ice dispenser takes some getting used to and telling each guest how to use it as the water comes out on top not under near the ice area which must be on other refrigerators. The amount the frog can hold is astounding! The drawers for the fruit storage takes also some time to figure out what works… but overall it’s easy to access coins in the back for cleaning them. It’s very heavy so moving isn’t easy for those who are single might want to consider a smaller fridge. The tube for the water line was very long which was nice. My only other problem is cleaning the ice maker and the water spigot. There is just no good water to do these without disassembling the whole unit. We had to have a technician come out and all he could do was remove everything and ask me to clean the hard water deposit off the cold coils for ice maker which again using chemicals isn’t good but vinegar wasn’t working and even with lime, scale rust remover didn’t take it all off. Plus them having to waste a whole bucket to ensure the chemicals got off even after we rinsed it all. The water line the technician said there just isn’t a way to fix that and just keep scrubbing it. For those wondering yes we use the filters and replace them regularly by writing the date on them before install so NO it does nothing for hard water.

The extra door is my favorite part of this fridge! It's so handy especially to organize all of my drinks! I also like the water dispenser. It's not inside of the opening, it's near the outside of the opening so you can fill any size glass without struggling to fit it in. It's a big fridge so be prepared for it to take a lot of depth space! Also, the color is beautiful and you can't see figerprint smudges as much as a traditional stainless steel fridge. Overall love it! And would definitely recommend it!

We have this fridge for just around 2 months and it has been very good so far. Lots of space and well lit. Looks very good as well. The door in door feature is excellent - we use it all the time. The few things that are preventing me from giving it an excellent rating is that the mini door should close more easily and should have an alarm since easy to leave open. Also the ice maker is slow and ice shape is small. Pros: Door in door lighting Cold settings Water filter Space Cons Ice maker is very slow. Ice itself is on the small side Surface shows fingerprints very easily. Door in door feature could use a better door - something that closes without much effort. Also a big plus would have been if that mini door also had an alarm since easy to leave open.

I love this fridge. It is quiet, and has so much space. I was so glad I went back to a side-by-side. My only complaint would be no drawer for cheese, lunchmeats, etc. Small package items that don't stack well. I use top veggie drawer for those things. I love the door-in-door and the icemaker in the door. So happy.
