Had Samsung fridge before this that always had issues with the refrigeration lines freezing and needing to be replaced. Ended up going through 3 fridges with geek squads help and decided enough was a enough. No issues here.

We bought this in Nov 2019 and exactly the unit failed in terms of cooling main compartment in Nov 2020 (Few days short of warranty expiry). The LG support came and defrosted the fan where ice was formed. Two months later, the unit stopped cooling again, LG technician came and change the entire compressor. Stilll the unit was not up. Later my Geek Squad warranty came and changed one of the cooling fan. The unit was up for few more days. The unit failed again, this time Geek Squad vendor technician came and replace the whole back panel of the unit. Even after full 1 month they were not able to bring the unit back to life. Geek Squad has no clue what needs to be done and instead now they are asking for replacement. I am not happy essentially, because i got this unit in thanksgiving deal and now in replacement I have to add few hundred bucks to buy the new unit + additional taxes+ New Warranty. Effectively I am being asked to shell out atleast $1100 to get the new replacement. DO NOT go with LG units they are poor in performance and poor in after sale service. The unit dies just in one year of usage and technically even after the warranty you have to spend atleast $1000 to get that equivalent unit.

They have made many improvements over the years. We replaced the old one due to computer board failure, which would not have been worth fixing, given the cost of repair and age of the old one. Our installer told us that all brands are having similar failures. This is a good mid point price.

Best Buy is delivering 4th refrigerator today. Geek Squad tried to fix fridge. (Really did not do much). So far Best Buy has done nothing to rectify the issue.

This model is designed with a Slim SpacePlus Ice System, and in some cases, water dispensing issues can stem from things like air trapped in the water line or low water pressure. We suggest trying a water line purge by dispensing water continuously for 2-3 minutes (you can use a large container). This can help remove any air and stabilize the water flow.
