Best Designed Fridge

We weren't even shopping for fridges but had to buy this one when we saw it.

Not a bad fridge just crappy hardware
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The icemaker died twice, once under warranty the next out of warranty (No big deal simple to replace after getting a replacement on Amazon). Had lights fail, another simple and inexpensive fix. The next is a huge deal. After 6 years the compressor failed. Too expensive to fix. Need to replace ASAP. Too bad, the fridge looks new and I like the functionality of the unit. Be aware all fridges have compressors which last just over the warranty.

Look elsewhere, known design issue

The compressor failed after only 18 months, requiring a major warranty repair. Only two months later, it has failed again—letting our family down and spoiling food in the middle of the COVID-19 situation. The soonest LG can schedule a service visit is one week out, leaving us with an inoperable refrigerator. We will never buy LG again, refrigerator or otherwise. Even when the refrigerator was running, the ice machine was troublesome and often leaked onto the kitchen floor. The freezer drawers annoyingly draw themselves closed when you are trying to take items out or put them in, pinching fingers. The compressor was noisy even when it ran right, and its vibrations would set off rattles/buzzes in the refrigerator. The “door open” warning is aggressive and annoying. This refrigerator has substantive positive qualities that set it apart from other similarly expensive refrigerators; even if it actually ran more than a couple years we wouldn’t have been very happy with it.

Installer said- BB will call you and let you know when they can deliver another one. Playing phone tag with BB since last 3 hours......do your self favor--stay away from Best Buy. As soon as they answer my phone- returning this.

Enjoying my lg 27.8 Refrigerator

The double freezer is awesome easy to find items without digging in a one drawer freezer. Looks beautiful easy to clean. So much more room than a side by side

Unfortunately, it like we’re going to have to replace it again. If you want to avoid unnecessary stress, buy a different refrigerator.

First compressor failed in 18 months

It's now 25 months old and the replacement compressor is beginning to fail again (frozen desserts melting in upper freezer drawer). Otherwise, I have been happy with the design and layout.

Looks a good but too many issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After 1 1/2 years had to replace the compressor (Warranty) but now 4 years later same thing but now I have to pay labor $700 but tech will not just replace compressor also needs filters and evaporator. So like $1,200 to repair. Might as well buy a new one. Looks good and all but too many issues.

Good price and product

The freezer storage is a bit awkward but has purpose. Find this out prior to purchasing. Aside from that, i do love the fridge and design. I am still very early in the purchase, so will need to verify quality in time to come.

Don't buy this refrigerator or any other by LG

There is a piece on the door that has been a problem and fallen out of place multiple times and completely broken to the point that we have to manually move it to get the door to close properly and cost $150-$250 to fix myself according to the tech that I had come out today due to the fridge/freezer stopping making ice and not cooling properly for the second time in less than a year. The compressor had to be replaced 4.5 years into owning this fridge and then has broken again 6 months later. LG has told me they will cover the parts that need to be replaced but I have to pay for the service even though this is the second time in a year the same part has broken. Terrible customer service, every time you call LG you get the run around and they want you to try pointless trouble shooting with no resolution. Now I'm torn between paying for a new compressor to be put in that they warranty for 10 years but apparently only works for 6 months and buying an entire new fridge/freezer. I have a different LG fridge for the garage and had compressor issues with it as well. Also a headache to get fixed. I do NOT recommend buying any LG refrigerator for the simple fact that they have terrible customer service if there is an issue.
