    Bad LG Refrigerator Experience That Keeps on Going

    DO NOT PURCHASE an LG Appliance. I purchase this refrigerator back in October 2018 and we have had nothing but problems with the ice and water dispenser not working properly. We when almost 6-months with the ice maker not working. We have had a LG repair man at my house 7-times and they have replaced a lot parts. But while I am on hold again (many hours over the last months) with LG again needing repaired again that’s when I decided to let others know not to buy. After the first 4-5 repair visits I asked them for a replacement refrigerator. Now I have been requesting a refund. My wife and I have lost many hours from off work to meet the repair man and being on hold on the phone. When asking for a replacement or refund they make the customer email them copies of the service reports. Unacceptable since they are the ones picking and scheduling the service company. Most of the time the repair man won’t even supply you a copy of the paper work. LG claims they can’t see the service reports. Hard to believe since LG is the one paying them and providing all the parts. I have a LG OLED TV, washer & dryer and haven’t had any problems with them. But this ordeal has left me with no faith in LG for future products.

    We bought the refrigerator 9/18/2018. It completely died 5/17/2021. No cooling in the fridge and freezer, lost a lot of food because we did not notice it immediately, distracted by the fact that I just came home from open heart surgery. Smells like something has fried on the control board that probably comes from CHINA. Scheduled service through LG hoping that they cover something being that it is less than 3 years old. Using our 15 plus year old refrigerator in the basement while waiting for repair. Nothing lasts like in the old days, before all the power saving electronics crap.

    Don't buy!

    Bought an LG refrigerator Model/LMXS30776S/03 15 months ago. The fridge is clean - modern and looks sharp, however just came back from vacation and found out the compressor gave out. Still under warranty called and had to wait two days for a tech to show up. He is here two minutes and says it's the compressor. He said LG switched to a cheaper manufacture in Mexico from South Korea, and 6 out of 10 compressors coming out of Mexico fail. Now I'm on a waiting list to get a new compressor. He also stated this is the second LG this week with a bad compressor. Went to the LG Headquarters site and posted a comment - sure wish I had gone there before I purchased. Not a single happy customer.....

    DO NOT BUY - we have had compressor, mother board, etc replaced 3 times already and LG support is TERRIBLE. 2k refrigerator should not go out within 4 years.

    Compressor failed

    Compressor design flaw fails early. Difficult to get LG to repair. Not reliable refrigerator. Our son's LG fridge had also trouble.

    Parents got this plus all LG ThinQ appliances and the fridge went out in less than 2 years, best buy total tech says they can’t come fix it until February?! What kind of crap is that?! Ice maker stopped working first now the freezer isn’t freezing and fridge is slowly heating up… this is fantastic. Dont buy LG…

    BEWARE OF LG REFRIGERATORS!!!!!! The linear compressor is garbage and LG doesn’t care that customers are having MAJOR ISSUES!!!! I have a 2 year old $3,000 unit and it’s garbage. I went out today and spent another $3,000 and customer service says “sorry we are closed. We can’t help you till Monday”. The linear compressors that keep going out are back ordered 7 to 10 business days. Then they’re shipping and installation. You’ll be without a refrigerator for two weeks. This is the worst customer experience I ever had. It will be the biggest mistake you’ll ever make DO NOT BUY ANYTHING WITH THE LINEAR COMPRESSOR!!!!!

    Delivery cancelled

    Purchased this item on Jan 2nd with an appointment for delivery/install setup for Jan 11, the night before I get a text that my appointment is confirmed and have a delivery window of 9am-1pm so I empty my old refrigerator and move my furniture so they can get in. The morning of the 11th I get another text that my order is on the way and a countdown begins for when they will arrive, it gets to 5 mins left then goes dark, nothing. Then it shows cancelled online, I call Best Buy and they said they didn't recieve the item from thier warehouse, why give a text and a countdown to arrival if they don't even have the item??? I've been a Best Buy customer since they started in my area but, now I will never use them again due to incompetence. I threw a bunch of food out and took off time to be home for delivery after they said the day before they were coming, they knew then they didn't have the refrigerator yet let me think they did.

    compressor crash disaster

    I bought the predecessor of this fridge in April, 2018, and the compressor has been out now for over a week so that the unit does not cool at all. LG had to settle a class action suit over their compressors and is liable for the repair but has blocked my efforts to get it done while not getting me an appointment before January. I have gone to every level of their customer "care," but I still do not have a working refrigerator, nor do I have a workable plan from LG. Look at reviews and on their own Facebook page - this is a common problem, and reports are that they have not corrected it. This should have been a nice refrigerator, but instead it is a nightmare. I will never purchase an LG product again.

    Terrible Ice Maker

    We just purchased this fridge in January. We love the space & the set up in the fridge section but the ice maker is terrible. I would not recommend this product solely based on that aspect. It does not make ice fast at all. Through the course of a 12 hour period- it won't even fill up the ice hopper. It's very disappointing.

    Do not buy LG. The compressor is complete trash and broke in less than 6 years. Off course lasted just long enough to void the labor portion of the warranty. It costs $550 in labor to replace the compressor. WHAT A JOKE.

    Stay away from the linear compressor or LC

    I purchased it on April 2018 , it not cooling or freezing anymore on August 2023 LG has a big lawsuit because of this linear compressor, LG will cover everything before 5 years for its faulty refrigerator including food spoil, but after five to ten years they will only cover the compressor, you will have to pay 550 dollars for labor, I will use it as a storage cabinet in my garage,

    Rage builds up over time

    If you have a wall next to your fridge do not buy this. You’ll discover that you can’t open the door wide enough to open your drawers all of the way. You will go years not being able to easily clean messes. You will lose food at the back of said drawers and find science expereiments gone awry. You will be forced to move the behemoth just to get the drawers out to clean them. This is a giant fridge but there is no efficient use of space. Eventually you’ll find yourself raging inside and hating everytime you have to put groceries away or clean the thing. I promise there are better options. We are replacing with Fisher Paykel and can’t wait for delivery so this monstrosity can go plague some other family. Every frenchdoor fridge you find at big box stores will have this problem. Find a local specialty dealer and save yourself!!!!
