Lg refrigerator not reliable

We were without a fridge more than 3 weeks as only one company handles warranty issues for lg and they are pretty busy fixing lg refrigerators. Never been so disappointed in lg. Will not buy one in the future, also there is a class action suit on the compressor so be aware

Watch out for LG compessors

However after 3 years the compressor is bad a known LG problem as we're finding out. Not happy about this LG should have told owners about a known issue lost a full freezer and fridge

I love the design but after have one I am not sure
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the design but after have a similar one for 4 years, seems it is only headache, mine stopped freezing last year I lost everything in the freezer, with guarantee the technician advised if it broke again I had to buy new one, after exactly 1 year I lost all my frozen food again, because refrigerator seems working but freezer stopped. I missed the time that you used to spend a lot money in a product but depreciation of the money used to work in the same proportion, now you pay $2,000.00 average in one refrigerator, it takes 2 years to pay and you enjoy it for 1 to 2 more years. :( not sure if my luck is upside down or if the product was meant to have short durability.

Don't buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Initially, we loved this refrigerator. After 4 years the compressor went and had to be replaced. LG sent out a serviceman to fix it. 1.2 year later and no longer under warranty the compressor went again along with some other parts. Total bill with taxes was $1,163. LG covered $380 of the bill for the new compressor. I am so sorry that we bought this refrigerator. Looks great, roomy, but not reliable!

Stay away from LG

Had the fans and circuit board replaced. Worked for a day and then broke again. When people say that LG has become garbage in the recent years... BELIEVE THEM!!!

Only lasted 4 years!

Turns out that it was leaking within the walls of the fridge and it cannot be fixed! I expect major appliances to last 4x that long. The old overflow fridge we keep in the garage is 23 years old. I am pretty disgusted and wil never buy an LG fridge again.

LG Compressor Issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought not this model but model #5258309, about 3 years ago on 8/4/2018. 4 months after my extended warranty expired the compressor broke, got it exchanged on 12/10/21, and now 4/22/22, 4 months after the compressor broke again. The first one was covered by the compressor warranty, but I had to pay for the service and all the spoiled food. Now waiting on the second one to see how much it will cost, This refrigerator is practically new, and it has blown the compressor 2 times in 3 1/2 years. I'm afraid to fix it and in a couple of months the same thing happen again.

Looks great, don't be fooled!

It's only 5 years old and now the freezer has stopped working. Naturally it's out of manufacturer's warranty. LG won't even come and look at it until I pay over $600. I found a local person and am having him take a look. If the repair is too costly, I'll just buy a DIFFERENT brand!

LG's longevity is highly suspect

The compressor just failed this week, about a month after the warranty expired. We previously owned both Whirlpool and Samsung fridges for many years with zero problems. Although the cosmetics of this fridge are nice, having a $1300 part fail after only 3 years totally offsets other benefits and has made me completely regret going with LG. Buyer beware of LG's longevity!

Water dispenser will not stop; Frost issue

In door water dispenser would not stop, water leak all over the kitchen floor. This happened less than 6 months after purchase 2. LG sent local technician to replace the door with the water/ice dispenser, the repleaced door is now having the following issues: water dispenser leaking water again, door does not close tightly causing noticeable buzzing noise. 3. Ice and frost build up in the bottom freezer drawer

Worked fine for 6 years, then died

Not what you'd expect for an appliance of that cost, from a manufacturer with a good reputation! We purchased the fridge 6 years ago for $2099 and were very satisfied with it. However a few days ago it just stopped working. After a 2 hour examination, a repairman determined there was an internal leak of the coolant, freon, that was unrepairable. (The unite was unmoved from its original location and had not suffered any damage). Best Buy told me to contact the manufacturer; LG offered a 15% discount off a new LG fridge purchased on their website. A $2099 fridge should not stop working after 6 years!

LG French door refrigerator with window.

LG knows there is a problem with this part so they warranty it for ten years, but not the expensive labor. Two years later the same part went bad. We will be replacing this refrigerator after 5 years and 6 months. DO NOT BUY THIS REFRIGERATOR!

Doesn't last

Repairman said there is a parts shortage because of how many of these they are doing nation wide. 7 to 10 days to get parts. Just another poor quality foreign made product. I also have an LG washer and dryer, had to have transmission replaced on washer.

quit working in 2 year

I called LG and their authorized seller and they don't know when the new compressor will be available. Very disappointed with all my LG products

Regret Purchasing

Just over 3 years old and there is an issue w/ the sealed system, so unless we want to spend $100s of dollars to have the issue addressed and fixed we have to purchase a new refrigerator. The repair man advised against fixing as there are so many other items that go out on this refrigerator.

Delivery service
