    Ice maker refused to work, LG sent multiple agents to replace it, it never worked. Had to return the nice looking appliance

    Since we bought it only we had problems, the fun doesn't work always freezes, they replace the funs under warranty and still doesn't work good. Don't buy it !!!

    our fridge stoped working 12 days after we bought it and now we have to wait a whole month to get a new one.

    Water line was not cooling up nor, the inside temperature was cold enough as it's supposed to be. switch to GE refrigerator and it works great.

    I'd owned a GE for 14 years and it was trouble free until the compressor started to make a loud noise and a year later the ice maker stopped working. I finally broke down and visited 2 Best Buy stores, San Bernardino first. Although I found what I wanted the minute I saw it, I wasn't satisfied at all with the sales person (part of that decorating store service, he was polite, charming and serviceable but didn't know the product and wasn't able to answer my questions). On my way home I saw the Beaumont store and on impulse (& desperation) I stopped there. What a delight that store is! The sales person has thorough knowledge of the products she sells, she wasn't pushy but was available at all times. I knew what I wanted because as soon as I'd seen it in in SB it called to me. Still, for the $$$$ I needed to be sure so I looked at it again inside out and asked more and more questions. Needless to say, I bought it before I left and had it delivered a few days later. Oh JOY! It fits so much food, works like a charm, and the ice maker, my pet peeve as I'm a huge ice user, makes more ice than I'll ever need + there's a spare ice maker in the bottom freezer. It's quiet, clean, efficient, I love everything about it. The most amazing coincidence is that my daughter & SIL walked in and it's their same exact fridge they've had for 5 years. Oh well, I'd never even noticed it. So far it's been an excellent choice and I'm looking forward to another 14 years without needing a new one.

    Like most consumers, I read lots of reviews before purchasing things, especially appliances. These days, it is hard to narrow down a brand, as things just aren't made like they were in the past. I bought this fridge in February and thus far, I am very pleased it with it. It is spacious enough to hold lots of groceries, including extra half gallons of milk, half and half, fresh juices, etc. We have 2 teenagers so they seem to consume everything as fast as I buy it, so I wanted a large fridge. We have an extra inexpensive fridge in the garage and we most likely won't replace it when it dies as this LG has plenty of storage for everything we buy, from beverages to fresh produce (in the past, we had to store all extra items and cans of sparkling water in the garage fridge due to space constraints). The drawer space is working well and we've all adjusted to the freezer drawer (our previous fridge was a side by side model). Overall, we are very happy with it and I am praying we can avoid lots of future repairs, but only time will tell. One little thing....like most refrigerators, the ice production is pretty lame, but there is a bin in the freezer for extra ice. My hubby commented recently that he would expect plenty of ice for $2000, but I make sure to keep my 4 extra ice trays filled at all times so that we can avoid further aggravation when he's pushing the ice button in vain and swearing under his breath after a long day at work. Like I mentioned earlier, our teens consume everything, ice included!!

    I received my item the day after Thanksgiving. I did have issues with the water filter not producing clean tasting water after flushing 5 gallons. I removed the filter, reseated it and flushed another 3 gallons, fixed without issue the water and ice taste fantastic. Second, the thermostat is off a few degrees, so I set it to 36 degrees to get it to 39 degrees. It is quite, works well and I'm glad I got it because it was hard to find a refrigerator. I would get it again, not in black stainless steel but in the finger print proof stainless.

    i can't say enough good things about my new LG. it's perfect! i love the french doors...it really allows you to open up and see whats in the fridge, and organize it perfectly (i've become OCD about where everything goes). love love the dual ice makers too. The top one in the door is small, but enough for daily glass fills. The bottom one gives you enough to fill a small cooler. The cubes are small...about 1 in cube....which i like. The freezer portion is kinda small, but i don't keep a lot in the freezer anyway. love the top drawer in the freezer though. i keep glasses in it...perfectly chilled for a cold drink.

    Broke in under 2 years, warranty in name only

    We bought a very similar LG refrigerator, model LFX28968SW, from Best Buy just about two years ago. We noticed the food in the freezer was warm last week. I called LG, and the two service techs in our area they recommended couldn't come for 2 weeks, and we would be away the week they could come. We have two small kids, and wanted the problem fixed before then. So I called another company and had them come out. They diagnosed the issue, and said we'd need a new compressor, but I'd have to call LG for the warranty to be valid. Call number one - the person tried to convince me that I needed a LG technician. Fine - but one's not free for 1.5 months. She said she'd call back if one was free sooner. Called back, not available. So I called the next day. Same thing. I called again, said it's clear a technician's not available, just send me the part. They needed some information about the repair company so they could e-mail him a request form. Not the part - a request form. And it will take LG 3-5 business days for them to e-mail a form. I called today after 3 business days - they still hadn't e-mailed the form. When they do, and it's returned, it will be 2 weeks to ship the part, then I need to reschedule service. I estimate it will be a 1.5 months without a refrigerator. The refrigerator was fine when it worked. I guess it was a dud, and I can forgive that - every company makes duds now and then. But this customer service - having to wait 1.5 months to have a refrigerator repaired under warranty, is SO bad, it's unforgivable. I will never buy another large LG appliance.

    It is quite roomy, my wife is able to store all of her necessary items, it has a fresh air filter which helps with food odors, it alerts you if the doors are left open too long. We love it.

    Life's Good? You must not have the misfortune to actually own a LG product. I purchased a refrigerator 4 years ago and the compressor went out. It was out for weeks before I could actually get a repairman lined up to come out. One said they wouldn't work on a LG, one said he was sent out not knowing it was the compressor and didn't have the equipment of the skill to do it, another one said he was too far away to come, another one said they could do the work but wouldn't because they were in a dispute with LG. Finally one who could do the work only to find LG had sent the wrong compressor. More wait. They said they would compensate us for food lost after the work was finished and it would take 2-3 weeks. It was completed on Feb 28, three weeks ago, and now I find out they will not do the reimbursement because we don't have our receipt. They know who we purchased the refrigerator from, they know when, but they will not go forward because we aren't in possession of the receipt. Three repairmen told us they would not buy an LG because of all the problems they see with them. Another one said "You know what LG stands for? Lost Groceries". Customer service is obviously not important to them. They are willing to lose a customer (and many more who get word of this experience) over the reimbursement cost. I will never own another LG product again.

    Fridge is Nice but Install Service Not So Good.

    We have not owned this fridge long enough to comment on it other than to say we purchased it to replace a similar LG fridge that we loved but that it died after only 7 years (sealed system leak - not worth repairing). We did love the old LG fridge design, especially the quiet compressor, and expect the new will be as nice. However, I do want to related our less than stellar experience with Best Buy's delivery and install service. We were disappointed in the short life of the first fridge but after contacting LG to complain they offered a substantial rebate on a new LG fridge so we decided to give the brand another chance, even though I'm not fully convinced they have resolved the design problem that led to the old fridge's early failure. As for the BB delivery and install service, it was a disappointment. First, BB pushed back our originally scheduled delivery date by four days due to cold weather. Hmmm, OK I guess, but it is Minnesota and we do get cold here. When the delivery guys came (both were very friendly but I quickly learned clearly not pro's) we learned they were out of town contractors hired by BB. They first removed our old fridge, then brought in the new one. The doors and bottom drawer needed to be removed to get clearance past the island into our kitchen, which should be an easy task (the doors and drawer are designed for quick removal and I'd done it myself several times). However these guys struggled to get the doors and drawer off and back on again. When the new fridge was finally plugged in, the refrigerator door ajar alarm started beeping continuously - they did not seem to notice it or have a clue why. They said I'd need to read the manual or call LG support to get help with electronic controls and they needed to leave for their next appointment. At that point I just wanted them gone so I could try to set things right myself. After they left I noticed they had installed the door handles upside down and on the wrong sides - even though both were clearly labeled with stickers for side and orientation. I then saw they had also scratched the doors around where the handles mount, perhaps because they were installed wrong (Note: BB is compensating us for this). As for the door ajar alarm, I pulled out the fridge and removed the hinge covers and discovered they had not reconnected all of the wiring harnesses when installing the doors. Later I found several screws and fittings laying on the ground outside where they had been working to remove the doors. Ruh-roh, as Scooby would say. I've not (yet) noticed where these "extra" parts came from on the fridge. All-in-all I'd give our delivery and install service experience a C- grade. Your experience with a different crew, or maybe even these same guys on a different day, could vary greatly. When our old LG fridge was installed 7 years ago that crew did it in half the time and clearly knew the product better.

    I would not recommend this refrigerator, worst buy ever!!! We purchased this refrigerator and as soon as it was delivered I noticed it was very load! It actually sounded like an airplane taking off. The sound comes from the compressor which stays on most of the day and is very loud. The sound seems to subside for about 1 hour and then continues to run most of the time. It is annoying vibration loud motor sound that is continuous. I have never had a refrigerator that makes a noise like this. Everyone that enters my kitchen notices the noise and comments on it. Very disturbing!!! I immediately went back to the store and ask the salesperson about the noise problem. He reassured me that this was normal and that it would go away after the first month. Hahahaha, what a joke,it just got worse! After that we could do nothing about it because the month was up and too late to do an exchange. So sad I fell for that one. He was a wonderful salesperson and I totally trusted his word. Unfortunately it was not the truth, and the noise has continued to worsen. Highly recommend NOT buying this refrigerator!!!!

    We bought this fridge 3 years ago, and recently the compressor just stopped working all of sudden. We called the tech support team, the technician said LG compressor is not that good. It was working fine the last 3 years, we were so sad all the food in the fridge and freezer are spoiled, as they weren’t able to schedule any technician to check on the fridge until 5 days after. We bought the warranty, but they said only covers the part, not the labor fees.
