    Lasted only 6 months, little to no help from LG

    We purchased this in mid-July and were initially pleased with its space and lighting; however, I cannot emphasize the stress this purchase has caused us. The week leading up to Christmas, the freezer was not reaching low enough temperatures to freeze and this gradually became the case with the refrigerator as well. We called LG to address the issue through the warranty. As others have described, it has continued to be a long road. They could not find anyone in our area to service the unit, so we waited a week for anyone to even look at it. The repair person was kind, but has essentially continued to tell us he is waiting on "tools" or "parts" that he needs to fix it. His diagnosis was that the compressor was bad. We are on week 4 and have continued to communicate with LG with no additional support. It seems that the length of time to (potentially) repair a fully non-functional unit should warrant a replacement. Perhaps they could refurbish and re-sell the unit on their time rather than costing us (the consumer) weeks of groceries and the stress of sorting out what to do about my medication that requires refrigeration. I suppose it is also worth mentioning that the stress that has come from feeling taken advantage of while also trying to find temporary solutions to feed our family safely has been tremendous. We have other LG products, but have learned through this experience to avoid making this mistake in the future. Please research repair options for a particular brand in your area before purchasing.

    The french door refrigerator can not cool after 3 years. Call LG service and charge $125 to check the problem. Need to new cooling system and charge $250 for repair. The new cooling was shipped from LG one week later. The first technician changed the whole cooling system: compressor, condenser, evaporator, refrigerant and the refrigerator still not work. The refrigerator acts like "heater" with the inside temperature of 80 F. Call for another technician to take a look at the problem, and need another new cooling system. The new cooling system is ordered and shipped from LG after another week. The technician replaced the whole cooling. It is working for now. It took four weeks to fix it and the cost is $375 for labor.

    Buyer Beware -- Linear Compressor Issues

    Refrigerator died inside the warranty window and LG claims nobody in my area can do any service on the device. After weeks without a working fridge in our house and getting the run around from their support for two weeks, a supervisor is sending my case off to the refund/replacement department. I would tell anyone to steer clear of LG's linear compressor units. You can do your own research online if you want to know more.

    This thing is such a piece of crap. The ice maker is a complete joke. You can’t use it without jamming up every single time. The non print is also a complete joke. The freezer is so small with the double ice maker. The balls of ice also are a joke. It makes them when it wants which is not much.

    DO NOT BUY! Mine went out after 3 years due to a linear compression failure. The “warranty” resulted in countless hours on the phone and countless service calls in an endless loop to replace one part after the other. This purchase was the single largest waste of money I’ve experienced. Just google LG refrigerator lawsuit and see for yourself... As for the 5 star reviews, it’s just a matter of time before their compressors will fail also. Shame on LG.

    Worst. Refrigerator. Ever.

    Two years old. LG has been out to fix compressor twice - with significant wait for service tech appointment. Each time assuring us it is all good, but then 2 months later, after we have restocked fridge with food, everything in freezer and fridge is ruined again because compressor dies. Again. Complete waste of money, time and food. Now it broke a third time. Buying new refrigerator. My husband has made me promise...no LG this time.

    Ordered this fridge and they delivered it on Monday.....DEAD ! Lights are on but no cooling, no ice, freezer not working at ALL! I would give it 0 stars if I could. Salesmen at Best Buy recommended this over Samsung as they said that one has been problematic, our Frigidare Gallery lasted only a few years. What is wrong with all these new appliances? My oldest builder grade model is still working thankfully after23 years!

    Best Buy was very helpful with the purchase and installation. However, after 2 short years the compressor needs to be replaced. I would not recommend LG nor will I be purchasing LG appliances going forward based on reviews for poor quality.

    Unreliable

    So I got this fridge for my place about 2.5 years ago and things have worked. Suddenly just 3 days ago I start getting error codes and the fridge doesn’t work. Now I understand appliances break down over time but certainly not after only 2 years. Now I have to pay for maintainance because the warrently only lasts a year and I have to say that I’ve lost complete faith in this brand. I’ve had better service from my cheap fridge in my old dingy apartment than this fancy shiny one. I also have an LG tv and now have to consider returning it before th warranty expires on it. LG please just put out a reliable product that consumers can be confident about.

    Lg forces you to constantly buy internal filter

    Bad fridge. There is no "plug" to replace the internal water filter. We have a central water filter for drinking and feed water to the fridge. We are forced, by lg, to buy their filters since it is not safe to leave the internal filter in place for perpetuity.Shame on Lg. I would never buy any of their products again.

    First unit failed after 1 year. Second unit lasted longer, about 3 1/2 before it died. You spend this much money on a refrigerator you would expect it to last longer.

    Buyers Beware

    Quite possibly the worst refrigerator made. The lifespan of this frige Is now just under 4 years and ours has died. Further research reveals that there has already been one class action suit against LG for this lemon and (I’m hoping) one more on the way. Nothing is made to last these days, in fact, large appliances like these are built to have a very short life. We had one repair 3 months into this thing and then 3 years later, it dies. Our repairman finds that the Best Buy repairman added something to the frige in that first repair to contain a freon leak. And now…that leak cannot be contained. How will Best Buy step up here? This is at minimum a massive waste of time and money.

    Fridge is functional, but scratches easily

    Don’t put magnets on this fridge. I just purchased this fridge in April and put magnets with pictures on it. Upon taking them off to clean the doors, I realized that the magnets had scratched up both doors of the fridge. It wasn’t just one type of magnet, but every single magnet I own caused deep scratches on the doors. Nowhere in the manual did it say that you could not use magnets on it, and I wonder why LG made the fridge magnetic when magnets would scratch it. I spoke with both Best Buy and LG on the phone and they said that nothing could be done about it. I am extremely disappointed with the quality of customer service of both companies and the fact that they do not back up their products.

    I'll Never Buy and LG Appliance again

    I'll never buy another LG appliance again. (LG TVs have been fine.) In 2.5 years, my refrigerator has stopped working twice. (The first time a satisfactory warranty repair was made, but only after over a week.) Also, the freezer door seal does not hold in place, requiring manual defrosting. (Repair person could not fix it.). LG authorized service is a bad joke. (Four companies were recommended. One had a rating of "1" with 130 responses on a major review site. Two didn't seem to still be in business. The fourth took a voice message and did not return the call. Thus, I have no idea if/when it will be fixed). This is for a refrigerator!

    Junk Broke Down in 2 Years

    This fancy-looking clump of cheap plastic and polished metal is the most overpriced appliance I have ever owned. It's cooling functionality *completely* broke down within 2 years of purchase from my local Best Buy store. After more than a month of my claim with the manufacturer and two repair attempts, the machine still doesn't cool properly. The sleek looks and Wi-Fi functionality is just veneer. I have owned multiple refrigerators that kept on running without service for 20 years. This glamourized kitchen statue kicked the bucket in 2 years.

    Design Flaws Galore

    I've had this LG for several years now, and I hate it. The ice maker is my biggest complaint. I've had it worked on twice, but problems continue. The ice freezes into a clump. I've given up and just dump it when I can no longer get cubes out. It has also dropped water into the chute which has frozen solid several times, making it impossible to even remove the ice tray. I have to chip it out with an ice pick and start over. Drawers do not slide easily, one roller has broken off, If something spills, the glass has to be removed to clean under the edges, and now I have frost building up in the frost-free freezer. As I said, I hate this frig. Don''t waste your money on an LG.
