    I bought this on 5/10/2016 and the compressor died on 11/15/2018. I called LG customer service and they told me they would cover parts and labor. that was a lie! they then proceeded to send work orders to one appliance repair company after another who denied the work orders. When one accepted the work order of course it only covered parts. The repair company that took the work order told me it was a $1200+ repair and not worth doing and this is a common practice with LG to say they will cover but in the end they don't. this must be the reason the repair companies deny the work order. This will be the last LG product I buy ever. Based on my experience, this is a company that promotes deceit, manipulation and products that are designed to fail it is disgusting!

    I needed a fridge with an upper and lower ice maker. This was the only option when I purchased. The fan noise is driving me crazy. The noise does not stop. I didn't notice the noise until it was too late.

    Noisy ice maker fan

    This refrigerator works well. Good temperature control and convenient design. The compressor is very quiet; however, the quiet compressor is made pointless by the ice maker fan which drones on constantly. If you've heard of tinnitus and don't want it, then don't get this refrigerator. I hear it all the way upstairs in my 3200 sq ft house. To be fair, this sound doesn't bother my spouse; however, she isn't too happy that I've now turned the upper door ice maker off because of the noise. Fortunately, this unit has dual ice makers so we still have ice in the freezer. But it is less convenient.

    Good for a year, but...

    Purchased this refrigerator new in November 2016. In April of 2018 the freezer started frosting up like someone had left the door open. We made a conscious effort to ensure it was closing properly and it continued to frost up. In May of 2018 (18 months after purchase) it quit cooling and freezing all together. Fortunately we bought an extended warranty and since we couldn't get anyone to come out to look at the unit for over 5 days, we will now be getting a new fridge. However, I will NOT buy LG again after hearing from 3 different service techs about how difficult it is to get parts for LG refrigerators. Unfortunately none of the units in this price point seem to be very reliable, so I will be getting one that is easier to get parts for and is more service friendly (Whirlpool). It is a crying shame that you pay upwards of $2000 for something that doesn't last two years, but that seems to be the case in many of the refrigerators in this price point. A word to the wise, look at reviews for these appliances from people who have owned them for over a year. Everyone is always happy with them after only a few weeks or months, but the long term reliability tells the tale....

    Don't buy unless you like going months without

    I loved this refrigerator for the 10 months it worked. That was 2 weeks ago. We are living out of coolers. It's terrible!!! They just keep going in circles. The repairman says it can't be fixed but LG won't let him put that in the record. When we call LG and demand a new refrigerator, they say the tech hasn't deemed it unrepairable. The repairman isn't coming back because he said he's ordering parts. He already told us he can't fix it so I don't know what part he's ordering. Meanwhile, we are living out of coolers. Don't buy LG!!!! Google LG problems. It's not just us.

    My LG fridge is dead

    My LG fridge purchased 6/2016 is now the biggest paper weight in my kitchen. It was very disappointing it stopped cooling after only 2 years. Called LG they provided contacts of service techs. After confirming the issue to be sealed system, warranty only covered parts not labor. I could not get any repair techs that wanted to perform the fix to even get a labor estimate. Four weeks without fridge!! Maybe I just got a bad fridge but reading other reviews with similar cooling issues? Never buy LG again!

    Lousy customer Service and Insurance support

    We purchased this model in August of last year, finally receiving delivery on Oct 15. On Oct 28, 2016, we started getting a readout on the front panel that said F dH. I spoke with LG on the 31st and was told that meant the freezer failed a defrost cycle. An authorized service technician came out and determined the compressor went out, not that it had an incomplete defrost cycle Subsequent to that, the service company was told by LG and the parts group that the compressor was not available nor could they tell me when one would be available. It's now November 30 and nothing has progressed, we are still without a refrigerator. I have made dozens of calls to LG and the insurance company that provides our extended warranty. We have been given case numbers and research numbers to reference but each time we call either the insurance comp[any and especially when we call LG, no one seems know what the problem is, I get passed along to many LG departments with no resolve. I now await a call from an LG supervisor. Meantime, both the insurance company and the service technician says this is an issue LG knows about and that they can't fix and they have not recognized the refrigerator needs to be replaced. My guess is this is a huge issue for LG that they don't want to resolve.

    I read the reviews and thought it was a good buy, but boy was I ever wrong!!!!!!!! To start the noise level is that of a 747 jet landing in your house!!! Have had this model since April already have had the sensors replaced and the fan, that fix lasted about 3 weeks. Called best buy and they exchanged the frig for a new one that I have had 2 days and the indoor icemaker broke. Giving up on this thing and getting a Whirlpool

    We love our new LG fridge! The amount of fridge and freezer space is unbelievable. We're thrilled with the extra ice maker storage maker. And the refrigerator is so beautiful! It seems to be prone to smudges but it's nothing that a quick wipe down wouldn't resolve.

    Persistent Leak

    Very disappointed. We bought LG for quality since we moved it out of the states and wanted something reliable. Now a week after installation there is a periodic leak that seems to originate in the left side door. LG support was of no help since the unit is no longer in the states. Do not buy LG products if planning to use it other than in America,
