    Screen Cracked on Day 30

I am so disappointed in my LG TV purchase on 01/09/19. I did extensive research to find a good fit for my space and budget and decided on the LG 28". It worked well enough (the picture wasn't as clear as I had hoped) for the first 29 days. All of a sudden on day 30 I watched it in the am and it was fine. By the time I turned it on the same afternoon there was a black stripe towards the bottom and multiple rainbow stripes along the right side of the screen. I boxed up the TV and drove to my local Best Buy. I was told that this damage wasn't covered under the service agreement I purchased. No one could tell me what caused this to happen. The supervisor was kind enough to refund the agreement price. He suggested contacting LG to see what options were available. I submitted a repair request on the LG website and when they called to discuss details I was told it was consumer error and the repair wouldn't be covered under warranty. They wanted to charge $150.00 plus s/h and tax to fix whatever caused the damages! I didn't pay that much for the tv! I was shocked and declined the repair estimate. Now I have nothing to show for my time and hard earned money on what should have been a pleasant viewing experience.

    Great secondary TV

I almost didn't buy this TV based on some of the reviews. There are many that are just erroneous e.g. the feet fall off - duh, how about putting the screws (provided) in so they don't fall off. Others are on the picture or sound etc.- WHICH YOU CAN ADJUST etc. This is a 720p tv and is not a UHD 1080p or a 2160p so it is NOT going to be at those higher standards. It is a great picture for 720p with some ability to adjust the picture to make it closer to your personal preferences. Also, the sound is as good as it should be at this price point. We use it in our kitchen and it is better than the unit we replaced. Please note YOU CAN ADJUST the sound to what you want but it will never be at a level of a sound bar etc. Just a solid tv and exactly what I expected without the issues from many of the one and two star comments.

    A Perfect "Second Set"

Actually, having grown up during the time when color TV first came to the networks in the US it's amusing to think of a 28" high-def TV as a "second set," but today most people want something bigger for their primary entertainment center, thus my title for this review. In every way but size, the LG would be fine for use as the main TV; the resolution, while less than some, is greater than standard DVDs and many broadcast programs, and while the size may seem small compared to the wall-dominating behemoths in many homes, it's large enough for comfortable viewing in any room of a conventional home and impressively large for a dorm room or small apartment. This set offers every function needed for quickly selecting and viewing multiple sources; it's easy to go from TV to DVD to game and back with the simple remote. With LG's reputation for quality, you can't go wrong.

I needed a TV that would fit into a piece of furniture in a bedroom, that was built to hold an old CRT 27inch Sony Trinitron. That limited the width of the TV I could use. A 32 inch screen was too wide. Something in the 28 inch class size is ideal. There are not too many screens of that size available and finding one from a brand I have had great experiences with before, LG, made this TV an ideal choice. I had to adjust the picture settings to get the image to my liking, but after those new settings the picture is excellent. Bright, vivid and sharp. It's a 720p set , but nobody can see the difference between 720p and 1080p on a screen this size anyway. It fits my need for a bedroom TV well.

    A No-Frills TV

I got this TV as a replacement for an old dinosaur. The picture quality was very good as I would expect from Samsung and the one very surprising positive was that its over the air reception was outstanding. I live a long way from TV stations and have a backup roof antenna. I am picking up stations I never could before. The are two negatives. One is the sound quality. It is terrible and I had to get two computer speakers (connected to the cable box) to use instead. The other negative is why I had to use the cable box for the sound. This TV does not have an audio output jack. Not even for headphones, thus a real no-frills tv.

The picture is sharp and clear. The colors are vivid and life like. The set up is easy and simple. The drawback are no headphone plug and poor sound quality. Without the headphone plug, it is complicated to hook up a device to improve the sound quality. Need to get a HDMI splitter to separate sound and video of the HDMI. Use the USB of TV to power the splitter box. Then hook up powered computer speakers at the HDMI line from Comcast. Turn down the TV speakers to avoid echo. Unfortunately you need to turn on the powered speakers when the TV is on. Turn off the speakers when the TV is off or there will be a humming noise.

This is my very first HD TV.....SO MANY negative reviews I hesitated to buy it, but they were WRONG......the picture's great (of course!) & the many complaints about the remote being too small to me, are just silly...The sound is not 'tinny' as many have said, but then I have mine on a bookshelf with a few feet of space behind it...maybe that's why it sounds good.....anyway, I LOVE this LG and am so glad I didn't listen to the negative reviews. Maybe because the others had experience with HD sets, while I have not? who knows! anyway, it's a great set and I enjoy it very much....small remote and all!! LOL...

Needed a new kitchen tv to replace my 1080p Samsung 24” unit. Not too many small TVs available any more. This 28” lg fit the opening, but I found out you can’t connect any external soundbar speakers of any kind. No hdmi arc, or audio outputs! I adjusted the picture to my liking by turning off all the noise reduction and color enhancements that were automatically on from the factory. For a 720p screen, it’s not too bad once adjusted properly. The built in speakers are ok but not great, and no outboard speaker options as mentioned. The picture is better than any other no name brands!

I had an older Samsung that was good for a few years, then found a Vizio on the cheap that was horrible. So based on the Samsung quality I picked this tv up. Very upset that my wall mount would not work for this TV, the screws for it are special length and is a bad design. It's only fault for sure. The ease of set up and picture quality blow everything you think of a TV out of the water. Sound is amazing from this also for being just a TV, I have it on a stand and removed my surrounded sound to do that. I think I will just keep it as is since it sounds good as is.

Needed to replace a 28" Samsung whose screen had started to lose color in one corner. This TV goes inside a built in cabinet and 28" is the maximum size that will fit. We wanted another Samsung, but this LG was literally the only 28" that I could find anywhere. For the price, I was very impressed with how good the picture is on this set. The only negative, which has been mentioned by other reviewers, is the sound. It's not terrible, but it's not that good either. It's definitely not as good as the Samsung, and the LG's sound adjustments don't make much of a difference.

The LG 720 HD - 28 " is simply just a truly best buy in a jack of all trades television set . A clear picture and good sound and competitively priced . This LG - at it's size and style make it convenient to add as a extra set that is almost perfect for any viewing space . There is no dissatisfaction here . I donated my first set to a employment office .And my second awaits as a preferred . Sound bar may be also desired for a larger room . The best one size fits all !! - Look it over !!

Pros: Excellent value for the price. Very nice picture quality. Sound is good. Easy to use and understand remote. Easy to navigate through the menus. Cons: No audio outputs. Fixed power cable. Overall: A nice secondary or bedroom TV or starter TV for someone young. It has 2X HDMI, 1X USB, 1X RCA AV input and a Coaxial cable Input. I use mine mainly for gaming and absolutely love it. I would have given it 5/5 stars if an audio output was included.

A great little TV for an affordable price. The TV is nothing mind blowing, but it has a good picture and better sound than I expected. My main concern was finding a TV that would play all kinds of video files off of the USB port. This one supports many types of formats (MKV, MP4, etc) and plays them back perfectly. The stand looked a little flimsy in the photo but is actually much sturdier than I thought it would be. So far we are happy with our purchase.

We purchased this TV as a replacement for the large , dinosaur TV we had in our guest bedroom. (It still worked, it was just too big and heavy.) IThe new TV fits well on the dresser. The on-screen set-up was a little tricky but easy enough to figure out. I gave 4 stars because I was disappointed that the TV has legs at either end instead of a single round stand in the middle. Otherwise it's a good alternate TV if someone in the house wants to watch something different from what others are watching on the big, flat screen.

This is a pretty good TV. The picture is great sound is pretty good as well. As far as sound goes for flat TV's that is. The setup was easy and controls are well done. The only complaint I have with this TV is there is now Audio out. So there is no way to add a soundbar or speakers to this TV. I bought this TV because of the size it fits perfectly in the spot I have for a TV my camp trailer. I wanted to add speakers to have better sound but no way to do that with this TV. Great TV if you don't want to add speakers.

28” TVs are hard to find. We got this one to fit into an armoire in our bedroom. The picture is great, the sound is not! However, it is possible to get better sound with a sound bar. You need to buy a audio/video splitter. You just attach the HDMI cable from the cable box to the splitter. Attach a second HDMI cable from splitter to the TV and connect the optical cable (included with Sony sound bar) from the splitter to the sound bar and voila! You have way better sound!

This is my third LG TV and this is the best of the lot. Don't get me wrong the 32" and 55" were both great as well but this one is better due to the advances in technology. I wanted a TV that would work with Prime TV, HDMI and my tablet. Sound and picture quality are excellent, set up was quick! I would also like to say a special thank you the Customer Service person that helped me, she took the time to listen to my needs and wants, answered my questions then set me up with the best TV. Great shopping experience!

The picture quality on this set is about the worst I have seen on any HD set. Extremely fuzzy and muddy, lots of false contouring, Stock color adjustment presets are pretty awful. Even a 720p set should look a lot better than this on a TV this small. Clearly this is a bottom of the line model. There are only a few pluses. Sound quality is good for such a small set. And the price, which if on sale, is hard to argue with. The only reason it got two stars instead of one. If you sit far enough way and are not picky about picture quality it might be good enough. For everyone else, look elsewhere.

I bought this for the kitchen. The size is nice and the picture is good. It has 2 HDMI ports, so I ended up getting a splitter to add another HDMI cable. I can deal with that. What I can’t deal with is the terrible sound. It’s a horrible tinny, almost echo like sound. I figured that wouldn’t be such a problem, I could get a little soundbar and be fine. No such luck. There are no audio inputs on this tv. Now I’m stuck with a tv that I can’t stand listening to.

Good picture, no complaints there. Sound is not great, but about what you would expect from such a small TV with small speakers. I'm not that critical about sound, so, to me, it's OK. For the record, the "loud talking channel" voice can be turned off. In fact, "OFF" is an option during the setup script. And yes, it really should be "off" by default. Overall, if I could, I would give it 4 1/2 stars. Pete
