Big enough to consolidate from 2 fridges to 1

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We originally purchase this model in SS but the fridge would fluctuate in temperature, decided to return this model for another, BB didn't the SS available so we went with BS. Delivery and install were great just keep in mind if you want BB to move the old fridge to the garage this will cost you extra nowhere was this mention when we purchased the fridge online, they moved it to our garage without charging us :-) We really didn't care about the instaview window but didn't have a choice as selections were low.

Garbage!

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worst fridge i've ever owned, and the most expensive. 1) The ice makers stopped producing ice shortly after installation. Best Buy replaced the fridge 3 times to try and fix it. It worked for a week and then stopped again, 2) The temp shown on the outside of the fridge is the temp it's set to, not the actual temp! so imagine my shock to find out all my frozen goods were partially thawed out and the fridge had no way of telling me or alerting me that the internal temperature was wrong! 2) The service tech who came out to repair the unit replaced the compressor (after less than 2 months of ownership!) that still didn't fix the issue, and! he lost two of the screws that hold the top plate in place, so it's not been put back together correctly, and the top panel looks all wonky. I am in contact with LG about getting my money back. Steer clear of this expensive piece of junk. oh, lastly, I almost forgot, the craft ice maker does not make ice balls, it makes ice 3/4 balls. They are flat on one side. Save your money, this unit is not worth the 3000+ asking price.

For the price, this thing is a dud

But I've not had this thing for a week. Our old fridge had a setting above the water dispenser, and it told you the actual temparature. This fridge is at least twice as expensive as our last fridge - but the numbers above the fridge tell you the set temparature (NOT the actual temperature). This seems a bit odd to me. The wifi, for whatever reason, wasn't even available for me to connect to my phone for a couple of hours. I would have thought it was my phone, except that the fridge did have a wifi it was sending out (just not the one you need to pair it with the LG app). It seems to me that if you have a "smart" anything, plug and play should be the norm (not "give it a few hours to warm up and then try to use it"). Lastly, speaking of "smart" and "plug and play" - if you think you will need ice within 48 hours of owning this thing buy a bag at the store (or buy a different fridge). That's right, this thing can't be expected to produce ice for two days after being plugged in. I'm 48 hours into ownership, but the "you won't have ice for a while" was not part of the plan. AND, speaking of ice, LG wants you to set the freezer to -4 if you want optimal ice production. This wouldn't be an issue if the previous fridge we owned did just fine, with more reasonable production set at 0). The previous ice maker was a fantastic ice machine. This one seems dubious, especially since it tells you that if it's not making enough ice you may actually need a different fridge (seriously, it's on the in-door ice maker). I haven't used the ice balls yet, but I'm sure they will be nice. In the end, I'm sure this thing will be great. But for the price, it is not what I expected.

Risky Temperature Control

See-through door shelves are isolated and fan that is supposed to move chilled air into compartment is insufficient. Two digital thermometers verify temp in door compartment will not drop below 40 degrees. Do NOT store milk, cream, or other perishables in this compartment! We've had a BB service tech out, he spoke to LG, they do not have a fix or a plan. That's a LOT of storage space lost due to insufficient temperature.
