Excellent Fridge

Our old fridge was always full, same amount of food in this fridge and it still seems empty. A lot of space. * The lighting in the fridge is great, you can see everything in the fridge without any issues. * Two quick access compartments in the fridge are great for cheese slices and butter sticks. * The fridge appears to be well made overall. * There were a lot of complaints about the ice maker, but after reading LG's suggestion of turning the freezer down to -4 we have had no issues with the ice maker, makes plenty of ice for a family of 4 in standard mode. Give the ice maker a week and you will never run out of ice. * Water filter is hidden and easily accessible. Buy your filters online at 1/4 the cost. * We love the door in the door, quick access to ketchup, milk and any daily use items without leaving the fridge wide open. The tap on the door for light works great, but we rarely use that feature. * Absolutely love the flex zone drawer. We mainly keep flavored water and pop in there and it is ice cold, not frozen, just ice cold. * Love the freezer, it has three separate compartments which make for great organizing. * The black stainless looks amazing and truly is smudge free, the only exception is the glass door, but that is easy enough to clean. * Love the notifications and control via cell phone. I was at work and was able to change the ice maker to ICE PLUS through my cell phone. ******************************* CONS: * The lighting for the flex zone drawer is on the bottom of the right side of the fridge door, so the flex zone has poor lighting on the left side, you can still see okay, just not as bright. * The fridge is almost 40" deep, makes for great storage space but is much deeper than most X-Large fridges and sticks out a bit more than our old one. * The water tastes great, but the cold water reservoir only holds about 20 oz of cold water, in fact I think it's a lot less than that, so the drinking water is rarely cold. * If your kitchen is not well lit, good luck reading the options on the outside control panel, they used black lettering over a black stainless steel panel. The lettering is small and me being older, makes it hard to read. We never need to change settings, so it's not that big of a deal. If it was I would have rated it lower. * WIFI setup was horrible, it took me over an hour to try and figure it out and I have yet to figure out how to connect it to our google home like they show in their ad. ********************************* Summary: Overall we love this fridge, it works better than anticipated and there are too many pros to rate this lower than 5 stars. The bonus is that this fridge looks amazing, we get compliments all the time when company comes over. I would highly recommend this fridge.

Could not be happier about this refrigerator after

The other brand had metal slides for the drawers but we found them to be sloppy and they were difficult to remove for cleaning. This refrigerator has plastic to plastic slides but the plastic is thick and a good snug fit and the slide is very smooth. Drawers are also easy to remove for cleaning. The freezer with the extra drawer are excellent, although hard to find things to fit in the one drawer as it is very shallow. The door in the door has proven to be a great feature. We were not high on it when looking and comparing put we have found it to be very handy for those go to items. We also notice when looking at other models that people commented that the items in the front door compartment did stay as cold as item in the refrigerator. I have watched this closely and that is not the case. All items in the front door stay very cold. There are plenty of other things we love about this model, but one very important to us is noise, and this unit is extremely quiet! Bottom line, we love it and would buy it again.

Love it but!!!

I am so glade I got the extended warranty because my compressor went up. No ice, no cold water. Not cooled inside the top of the frig. I called Bestbuy and they had someone come out. The serviceman replaced the compressor in no time. No charge. Sometimes things like this can happen and when you pay a lot for the frig you don’t want to pay any more money on anything else. But be wise nothing is guaranteed.

Worst Customer Service Experience Ever
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I could write the longest review in history describing the details of my experience with this fridge and the debacle they call "customer service", but I'll try and make it relatively short because I want you to read this in its entirety. You need to be aware of what could happen to you when you have issues with LG products. Again, if this looks too long to read, make yourself do it, this is the short version. I bought this fridge in the black stainless steel version last June and have had a repairman to my home a total of 8 times in the past 11 months. Four total "repairs" that required 2 visits each time. The first 4 times was because of a leak in the door on the ice machine side during the first month we had it. Ultimately, that repair stuck and has been fine since the last repair, Fast forward to April of this year and the story goes south pretty quickly. The unit started making a VERY loud and annoying noise, intermittently. Think of a drum solo at a rock concert, and that drummer was the worst drummer in the world. I called customer service and ended up having the repairman come out. He came, and of course, being an intermittent issue the noise didn't happen while he was there, but he ordered some parts and came back the 5 days later to install them. Note, he never checked for any open service bulletins for the problem I described. The noise came back the next day after he replaced the parts (some fans). I was not happy, I called back customer service after going round and round, the rep asked me again how many times I had repairs and then tells me I qualify for a replacement or refund, but I needed the receipt scanned and sent into them. I had to go back to the store to get a reprint because I couldn't find it, and did the scan and send process. No one called me back for 5 days and I had to call them only to find out that now I didn't qualify for the replacement. That was one of at least 6 lies I was told over the 3 weeks by the customer service team. In short, I was forced to have another repair performed last week. This repairman called and checked for open bulletins, and yep, my complaint was on file and had a listed repair. Why wouldn't that be standard practice on every repair? He ordered the parts and installed them a week later. The noise was gone for literally 8 days! The little drummer boy is back in my kitchen. Went round and round with those people again...they still won't replace or refund! They are rude, talk down, talk over, are non-empathic and worst of all have no authority to satisfy a customer that has had multiple repairs, three of which will be for the same exact problem. It would be different if this was the first time I had an issue, but this will make it 5 repairs and 10 total visits. They make you feel like you are on trial and are complaining just to complain. I have spent over 5 hours total on the telephone, spoken to easily a dozen reps and have had to explain the story over and over. Today the lady told me that escalation team "refused" to speak to me because there was nothing they could do and I would have to have the repairman come out. I purchased an LG OLED TV last year that I gave a positive review about, but I would have stayed clear if I knew what I know now about the lack of customer service. Spend your money elsewhere.

Beware of LG Linear Compressor Problems
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After only 3 years, and the end of the warranty period, this beauty stopped working. The Linear Compressor is now a known issue with LG refrigerators. Luckily, after contacting an LG repair partner, they informed me that due to a class action against LG for their Linear Compressors, my repair would be covered in full. Now that's great, but we lost all the food in this unit and were without refrigeration, in August, for 10 days. LG needs to build their equipment correctly the first time and not rely on fixing the problem afterwards after their customers are inconvenienced and bear the burden of replacing what was lost. That all being said, this unit is large and just what we want when it's working properly. I'm glad I didn't have to replace the unit, hoping the repair goes smoothly today, but I won't be buying any LG appliances in the future.

One of the Best

So spacious and with bright led lighting along with the instaview gives this a modern and a contemporary look. It is quiet, spacious, and the ice makers are fantastic. The adjustable shelves give you so many options for rearranging various items. The door within door is very handy for getting beverages and items like milk, juice etc quickly.

LG Refrigerator

I must confess i'm very pleased with my purchase. I also purchased a Whirpool product on the same day had had to change that after a couple years. One thing i truly love is the 10 year warranty on the Compressor...Splendid!

Great but needs better components

The compressor went out in my first one within 3 years and the second one was the same. LG Customer service is difficult to have someone sent to diagnose or repair. And they only prorate you the cost of the fridge if they have to replace it.

Fails within 2 years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought the LMXS 30776 in 2016 and failed after 1.5 years. Had to fight with the extended warranty company to get a replacement. Replaced it with newer model LMXS 30796 and in less than 2 years this model failed. Extended warranty was with Best Buy this time and they promptly gave me my original cost in the form of Best Buy gift card to purchase a replacement, but of course the refrigerators are now more expensive. I appreciate their quick response and willingness to give me my full cost, but now I have to spend more and I have also spent close to $700 on extended warranties which aren't reimbursed. These LGs don't seem to be reliable and no one is able to repair. I am angry that I am now needing to purchase a new refrigerator for the 3rd time in 4 years. Loved the design and functionality of the LG but don't want to deal with another unreliable product. Best buy doesn't have much to offer other than LG and Samsung. Very frustrating experience!

LG just cant cool

We had bought the LMXS30776s 2.5 years ago and cooling failed (completely). We loved the size and function of the model so we bought the 30796s to replace the first LG - feeling certain that they would have fixed any flaws on the cooling. However, after two days, we are sorely disappointed - again. Cooling wont engage for 5-6 hours plus after you open any door. Freezer turns ice cream into shakes, refrigerator (and flex drawer) only to 50 degrees after 6 hours from loading three bags of groceries today. Back to GE, not as innovative, but definitely more reliable.

G 29.7 Cu. Ft. 4 Door French InstaViewDoor-in-Door

However, yesterday, to my surprise, it started leaking water. I thought it was the ice maker that was causing the problem (this is the second time in approximately 2 months this has occurred), but now the refrigerator does not work. The technician is coming on Thursday to check it out. Too soon for a refrigerator to stop working - 4 years!!!

In less than a year it started making a buzzing noise and was not cooling properly. Had to move everything to numerous coolers and wait for a repairman for almost a week. We live in a rural area, 35 miles from a major city. It had started cooling again before he showed up! He arrived and said to unplug it and then plug it back in and it would reset. He mentioned the problems With the linear compressors that so many have mentioned in the poor reviews. Now, 8 months later, it has failed us again.33 degrees in the freezer and 60 degrees in the refrigerator. Buzzing noise is back, unplugging, resetting circuit breakers, nothing clears it up. I now have two 120 qt. coolers and 4 smaller ones in my kitchen and living room with 120 lbs. of ice trying to save my food and no telling how long it will be before the repairman shows up once we call LG for service on a Saturday of course! We bought a kitchen pack from Best Buy with this fridge, a matching glass top stove, dishwasher and microwave fo over $6,000. When you pay that much you expect great service from the appliances, the merchandiser and the manufacturer, From what I am reading in the reviews I am not very optimistic!,

Make sure they can properly deliver it!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.UPDATE ON THIS REVIEW.. delivery guys come today at 5pm after fridge stays outside since 8am yesterday with no clue of what they are there for. Call dispatch, their boss had no idea either. They are not even installation guys, only drop off. We tell them to just take the fridge back. They say they are going to the truck to charge their phone AND THE DROVE OFF!! You can't make this up. Best Buy has no resolution but I am having them pick up all 6 items that were on the order! Wish I could review less than a 1 Star!!! Customer Service experience has been absolute worst and noone can help! Had a $3900 refrigerator delivered. We declined what they call "installation" charge. The description only talks about a water line install. I didn't need help with that so I said no. Turns out this means they won't even remove the fridge from the box or give you enough time to remove and look at it to make sure its what you even ordered, let alone in good condition. Now we're stuck having to take the doors off and take it apart to get it through the door on our own. This wasn't explained and the website says free delivery gets the fridge delivered to your room of choice. That doesn't mean my front porch!

Top of line product - A piece of JUNK

I had already replaced compressor twice. The issue of not cooling keeps happening. I have another technician visit scheduled in 4 days. It is so frustrating that spending so much on a top of the line product has end life in just under 5 years! If you are shopping to buy LG, skip and buy a Samsung or even a whirlpool. This piece of junk is not worth 3 grands!
