Trying to figure out the warranty work and get it repaired is a long process as it’s still not fixed.

NO ICE!

I’ve already had a repair man out 3x. When it was delivered I was told I need to wait at least 1 or 2 days to use the ice and I had to dump the first load of ice. So I waited and dumped it. Well since day one the fridge hasn’t dispensed one piece of ice. That’s not a joke I haven’t been able to get one ice cube. The LG repair man replaced the whole ice maker and a few circuit boards with no success. His advice to me was to return the fridge they have too many issues. I am very disappointed in LG as there products have been good to me. But this one is a major bummer not sure what fridge I’ll get now.

Bad news

The ice makers will not make ice have had them replaced by Lg service calls and the keep malfunctioning. Do not buy this model lrfds3016d/00

Poor engineering.

The unnecessary beeping that some engineers thought was a good idea is not. The noise cannot be turned off. If someone gets water and ice in the middle of the night everyone gets to hear it.

If you want ice, buy another refrigeration

Was replaced once under warranty and broke again a few months later. While working, the ice balls were poor quality. The indoor ice maker does not work well either - stacks all ice on the right side and then stops less than half full.

Overpriced piece of junk

Main ice maker has NOT WORKED. Service called July 1, 2020. We were told that the ice maker needs to be replaced. So much for a $2,700.00 piece of crap.

It has so much room and I love all of the drawers and compartments. The craft ice is neat and only makes a few a day but they are pretty big - will be great for parties.

Broke Down Twice

Bought in Sept 2020 took 5 Mo to arrive(back order Covid), so we’ve owned it for two years. It is now July 2023. The compressor stopped working in May 2023. It took 4 days for a technician to come out. Had to borrow a fridge from the neighbors. Luckily they had one in their garage. The technician said that many of those compressors were bad and needed to be replaced. It was covered under the 5 year warranty. Now, the freezer is not cooling and not making any ice. There was water all over the ground this morning and all of our food is thawing out. It is Saturday and LG cannot get a technician here until Wednesday. We have to go buy a $250 freezer! It’s a beautiful fridge. Love all the space, but LG doesn’t make a lasting product. I wish we would’ve kept our Samsung refrigerator. We had it over 10 years. It worked fine. We just wanted an upgraded appliance package we thought would last.

But there are huge problems with this fridge. 1) craft ice maker has stopped working entirely twice in the first year. Thr craft ice maker has been replaved and is a Lg warranty covered repair but apparently even a newly replaced unit will stop functioning in 2 months as ours did. The service rep said this is a common issue. Once warranty is over the craft ice maker which is one of the reasons i purchased this fridge will likely be useless. We have a whole house water softner so it's not the quality of water that is causing an issue. 2) the regular ice maker works but always has ice freezing together in a block on one side of the ice maker requiring me to open the ice maker and remove the fused chunks of ice which do not dispense snd make the icemaker think its full. Weve had this replaced under warranty as well but the problem persists. 3) we had a ge monogram before and it had held ip beautifully both in kooks and function. The steel on this lg seems thinner to me and has dented in a few small places. This is not a big deal at all but i can tell you our monogram which was over 10 years old didn't have as many dings as this 6 month old lg.

Customer service does nothing to remedy even with the 5 year parts and labor. Just ask BBB about the 5000 cases against LG

Buyer beware

If you consider $2,000 plus product should need to be unplugged and defrosted every 2 months normal then go ahead. There is a defect in the processors and a class action lawsuit which is still ongoing. Meanwhile we are stuck with a 9 month old fridge that stops working every every 2 months and needing to move all of our food to another cooler. Don’t do it
