I purchased this frig in November of 2013 and within a few months had to have it repaired. Lost a lot of food! Pros: nice exterior, well designed for lots of frig/door space. Cons: The freezer fan and a main computer component went out in less than a year. The repair person came out multiple times and I was without a frig for several days. It has been 2-3 months since the repair and today I woke up to the noisy sound of the freezer fan AGAIN and everything was thawing out, even though the temp said 3 degrees! The top freezer drawer had ice melting on the front side, same problem as before. Thawed fish is NOT good LG! I do live in a humid area and previous reviewers in humid areas have had similar problems. This problem stems from the top and corporate executives cannot continue to collect mega salaries off of products that DO NOT WORK! My suggestion is to bring the jobs back to America and design/build with quality control. Promote from within so that executives REALLY know their product! My parents refrigerator lasted over 30 years and I am sure it was built with pride. Pretty sad that you cannot make one that lasts even a year! LG, you need to replace my refrigerator, pay me for groceries and GIVE me an extended warranty!

I purchased this from Best Buy 2 months ago and am having so many problems with the refrigerator. It freezes up and shuts off. When we contacted LG the tech was very rude and unhelpful. We were told to unplug is for 3 to 4 hours and that should fix the problem. Are you serious!? They know that there is a problem with the refrigerator but instead of issuing a recall and fixing it before it breaks they wait until you call them and then they give you the runaround. We asked to speak with a superivsor and told that someone would get back to us within 24 to 48 hours. We called Best Buy and was told that since it has been more than 30 days they cannot help us and we need to contact LG. The soonest a tech can come out is in two days. In addition, calling LG is a nightmare. Then they tell us that unless we have our original receipt to prove when we purchased it the tech will not even look at it. It is amazing how they are so quick to collect our money but if you have a problem nobody seems to care. This is a refrigerator not something that you can just live without for a week until there is an opening in their schedule, You would think that Best Buy would step up and offer their customers good customer service and they wonder why they are on the verge of going out of business. As far as LG goes I would never buy another LG product again.

Don't buy this. The icemaker tray is too small (look at the size of the icemaker tray on any refrigerator you buy. They have a high speed setting on the refrigerator that promptly freezes up the unit and halts all ice production. Installer was surly and tried to pull a few fast ones on us. We think the installation is flawed, but like hell if I want Best Buy sending their subcontractors out. Free installation? You get what you pay for - I'll never buy another major appliance from Best Buy because of the subcontractors they use. Overall, I am very dissatisfied with Best Buy. I have bought well over $20k worth of electronics and appliances there, and I am sad to say I'll probably never shop there again. The only good thing I can say is that the sales person was very helpful on the floor, but unfortunately he must not know anything about icemakers.

First of all, DO NOT trust the LG side for your reviews, they manipulate the reviews and post what they want, I tried to post over there and they denied it because it did not meet their “guidelines”. In this page, this product has 2 stars and in there's it has almost five. I guess the guidelines are that if you say something negative they won't post it. I have had this fridge for 2.5 years now, so I have some experience with it. If you live in a humid environment, DO NOT BUY this product; actually, do not buy this product, period. Within the first six months the fridge started making a loud noise. We called LG and they told us to disconnect the unit for 8 hours. We did as we were told and the problem was solved for couple of months. After a couple of months, it did it again. We called once again and LG sent a technician that dissembled the freezer section and there it was, a big chunk of ice. He used a blower to melt the ice and told us that (in his opinion) the element defrost was poorly designed. The noise is caused by ice freezing on the fan and causing an unbalanced condition. Guess what? Couple of months later it did it again. At this point, knowing what the problem was, I just opened the freezer door and let the ice melt until the noise was gone. I have been doing that for 2.5 years now every couple of months. The latest news is that the unit stopped working all together, dead, not cooling at all. It turns out that a tubing from the compressor's discharge, that is used to evaporate the defrosted water, corroded and burst, causing the unit to lose all the refrigerant. This tubing is submerged in water almost all the time, who in their right mind uses any other tubing system that is not copper? The technician that serviced the unit simply cut that tubing completely and replaced it with a copper tubing system. We paid $3,100.00 for this unit, it's supposed to be a high end product and it is not. Stay away from LG. I gave it 1 start because I could not give a negative.

The whole family love the fridge and it is serving our purpose well. The stainless steel adds some elegance in its appearance.

I loved this refrigerator when I bought it and it has so much space but we have had it repaired 3-4 times already. Once again, the condenser fan is rattling and nothing is staying frozen in the freezer. The condenser fan gets frozen over and the whole unit stops working. Also, you CANNOT run the unit in energy saver mode. That is what causes the problems with the ice maker. In energy saver mode the ice starts melting and water will run down the front of the fridge. Fortunately, Best Buy has a great warranty program. Now I am hoping I can just get a replacement so I don't have to go through this hassle any more.

I am very happy with my refrigerator! It's great to be able to see everything in it.

BEAUTIFUL STYLE, FUNCTIONAL, GREAT DESIGN AND LAYOUT

First one we had with freezer on bottom and I love it. Alot of room for anything you need from tall items to large items.

Had this fridge now for little over 1 year. Despite costing close to $3000 extremely disappointed with the reliability. The fridge has already broken down twice in the time we have had it, right after the warranty expired. The first time there was an issue with the ice maker. Apparently, there was a recall on a icemaker fan which caused the icemaker to indicate some error. LG took care of the repair like it was in warranty. The latest issue involved the entire refrigerator - icemaker, freezer and fridge. It does not seem to cool! This time around I will be stuck with several hundred dollar bill for repair! You would expect better for a product that costs so much! While the repair is being arranged for ended up buying a spare fridge to get by in TX heat. Having purchased a cheap Frigidaire spare fridge realize that this LG fridge does a poor job cooling stuff inside or making ice fast enough it even in its best days. Would highly recommend you buy Bestbuy extended warranty coverage if you still want to buy this fridge! Extremely poor reliability!

All in all it's an excellent refrigerator, large, spacious doors and interior. The controls on the door are great!

So this is actually a review of our second unit, as our first unit delivered went completely dead within an hour after it was delivered. After working through with Best Buy, they agreed to bring a new unit within 24 hours, we got the one we have today. I'm very perplexed on the high reviews for this fridge. Generally speaking it keeps food cold, but we've found frozen lettuce and other items that are either too cold or not cold enough. We find ourselves constantly tweaking the temperature settings to avoid problems. This unit gets a lot of attention because of its size. And while as a direct measurement it appears the largest of the mainstream dryers, it always seems as there's space wasted. Because the ice maker is in the door, there's less door space for condiments, sauces, etc. As a result these get moved to the inside shelves. Ice, ice ... no baby. How can a $3,000 refrigerator not produce ice. We are forced to buy ice because this unit can't make more than 2-3 cups worth of ice in a day. Ludicrous. The "Ice Plus" button does a good job of making another half cup of now more watery ice. All-in-all wish I could return this fridge. Have always been happy with LG up until now. In fact this purchase has put on hold our replacement washer and dryer for awhile.

I was so excited to remodel my kitchen 3 years ago! We shopped and shopped and finally decided on the LG refrigerator. Within the first year of owning it, the freezer fans stopped working and the ice maker broke. We had the repair man out constantly. Shortly after this, the handle to the freezer started falling off and now the whole freezer door falls off. The shelf over the vegetable drawers has broken too. We also bought this product knowing it was an energy star model. About a year ago we were informed that this model was not up to energy star standards and LG would be issuing us a check monthly to cover any additional energy costs. The check is for about 5$ a month. Who wants to deal with this when spending this kind of money. We were not impressed. Keep looking.

Water line did not work when we hooked it up. Geek Squad replaced door. One year later....Piece that seals door (door stopper that flips open and closed as you open and close left door) stopped opening and closing on its own. Geek squad replaced the door, again. Damper stopped working in the back. Geek Squad replaced it. 6 months later...Freezer creates large chunks of ice that fall in the back and when you open the door, they fall in the floor. Freezer creates "snow" all over your food. Freezer creates icicles on drawers. Random "error message" on control panel. Praise GOD that we bought the Black Tie Protection. After many hours on the phone with the Geek Squad, they replaced the unit. Best Buy stood by their guarantee. It took a lot of patience on the phone and in the store but they stood by their guarantee.
