    Breaks easily!

Fridge stopped working out of nowhere in <4 years from purchase. Reached out to LG and they said I needed to work with an LG technician. Cool. Technician reaches out asking for a receipt — I tell them that I didn't keep a receipt (because I didn't anticipate my fridge breaking anytime soon) and they said reach out to LG. Reached out to LG and LG says the manufacturer sticker will suffice. I send that to technician. I get an appointment confirmation (days later, but at this point, sure!) and everything seems good. And thennnnnnn the next morning I get a call from the tech service company saying they still need a receipt? Huh? I tell them that I don't have one and LG told me the manufacturer sticker would suffice. They say that I will need an "APN".... I ask "what's that?" And they simple restate that "you'll need an APN." Okay! I reach back out to LG via chat requesting an APN and they say that they no longer use APNs. Hm. That's weird! I call the tech service company back and tell them LG no longer uses APNs and the guy seems a little amused and says "they definitely do, I just saw one" and tells me that the person at LG was likely just getting off their shift or didn't want to assign me one. Tea! I chat LG once again with the issue and they say that they will call the tech service company directly to resolve this. I wait a few hours. Call tech service company back. They haven't heard from LG. Imagine that! I chat LG AGAIN asking if they can reach out to the service tech company while the chat is still live. They say no. I ask to speak to a supervisor. The chat agent says "why would you need to speak to a supervisor?" Baby girl if you knew what I know. I say that I've spent enough time on this and need to escalate to get a resolution as soon as possible. They make me wait five minutes and then say that a supervisor isn't available via chat and that I'll need to call. This is so fun! I call LG and it seems like it's going well and then the guy asks me for a receipt. I inform him, again, I do not have one. He asks me to call the retailer to get one. I say "I will not be doing that, I have wasted enough time. Take me to your leader." Supervisor jumps on 10 minutes later and guess what they give me? An APN! The mythical APN! It does exist! I then have to call the service tech center back and give them the APN. TBD if they actually come and if the fridge can be fixed. I've read that the parts are unavailable. I've also read that the compressor that they "fix" the fridge with is the same one that stops working within five years. I've also read that LG was aware they were using faulty compressors. So yeah. LG lies. Like actually lied straight to me. I don't like LG anymore and you shouldn't either. Don't buy this fridge.

It keeps things cold, so it has that going for it.

Year and a half into it and several gripes. The door water has always been cool at best, never really cold and annoyingly always much warmer than water than has been chilling in the fridge. The bottom right door stopper has already broken off and required replacement. The lower pull-out shelf pop-up cover of the fridge section now has 2 out of 3 hinges broken; because it doesn't really do anything we won't be replacing that. 3 of the clear door shelves now have cracks in them; can't wait to replace those a $50+ a pop. Freezer section has been more robust, so far no broken parts. The way shelves are laid out there's not much flexibility and ultimately we end up having wine/beer bottles on their sides and pot lids turned upside down to accommodate them vastly more than we did with the previous fridge we had in this space. Overall extremely disappointed with this purchase, would not recommend.
