Needed a small but powerful unit to fit a very specific space and it did!

Very pleased with the performance and sound quality this little system can bounce out. This system reminded me of my time in college when this kind of a mini system was a must have for any and every dorm room. This LG system rocks and can push out some great bass and sound quality. As I'm now in my upper 30's I like this system and the fact it has a CD disc tray. From my generation of music and housing so much on CD's and burned discs this feature is a great bonus. I love having this setup in my basement area for some fun music listening. I'm crazy about the quality of the sound, but I'm still having an issue getting comfortable with the aesthetics and look of this system. For most in the target range of this system I would think this system would be no issue. To me it looks a bit like the face of some kind of robot when I look at the head unit. Overall the system is pretty nice being able to play music to it from my iPhone via bluetooth. The bass on this system does produce a deep booming bass and I like that when listening to my music and just about every genre. I think for the pricepoint this is an amazing buy for a young adult that wants to have great sound and bold look/size to their living space.

OK, got this for the kids game room. Until this little guy, they had a standard flat panel TV speaker or had to bring down one of their portable Blu-tooth speakers. It was admittedly a first-world problem, but lets be frank, the quality of sound from most flat panel TV's is utilitarian at best, and with the portable speaker (and used by kids) the battery may not always be charged or (imagine this), they may not remember where they left it, so this unit alleviated all of those issues. Also, with 5 or 6 teenagers in the game room playing pool and air-hockey, you can imagine the cacophony of sonic discordant throes simply overpowering the little TV or portable speaker. This is perfect fit for our needs, When we got it home, my 16 year old promptly hauled the unit downstairs, unpacked it and within 4 minutes had the system not just powered and plugged, but also had his and his sisters phone connected with Blu-tooth and was streaming, so set up is quick and easy.He did have o fiddle with the wire that serves as FM antenna to get his favorite station, but that is nothing a little longer piece of copper can simply correct, As for sound, the quality is pretty darn good, especially for our needs. Now they can stream music whilst pool balls bounce off each other and the air-hockey puck shuttle back and forth. It can even compensate for the occasional celebration of one player over the sonic anguish of another when the perfect shot sends one teen to victory and the other to defeat. We also connected to to the TV so again, the sound quality was a much appreciated improvement while Stranger Things streamed on the screen. The remote is easy to use and functional, the build quality is exactly as you would expect from a consumer grade LG product, the bass is a welcome upgrade, and the mids and highs are more crisp than the equipment being replaced. If there is one area for improvement (yes, I'm nitpicking) it would be the inclusion of Google Assistant for voice control. Otherwise, great system especially if you have a specific need like we did. I can't write this review based on my preference because I'm a fan of balanced sound. Don't get me wrong, I love my bass but you gotta bring the mids and highs along with it. I've always been a fan of full sound, even when I had 4 - 10's and 2 - 12's in my Rodeo. I had to boost up the in-door speakers and add horns to make it sound better. So I'm gonna have to play the part of a BassHead. This gets remarkably deep. Even without a dedicated sub, these little speakers have enough boom to feel it in the floor. I didn't go higher than 20 and that was enough to make the man-cave full of sound. I grabbed my old school Funk Master Flex Vol. 1 CD and it didn't disappoint. There are two equalizer settings but you have no fine tune. The big left wheel gives you few effects based on genre, then there's a little button near the big wheel that selects presets based on region and genre(?). I found using the region and setting it to Forro gave me the best balanced sound. There's also a bass boost but that just took it way to low for me where even vocals were getting muffled by going too low. Pairing with a Pixel XL was painless and I was streaming in no time. It doesn't support APTX, but unless you've got super hearing it won't affect the quality much. I didn't test the USB because the manual said it only accepts FAT32 - maybe later I'll check if there's a firmware update. All my drives are ExFAT or NTFS. I'd have to guess they picked FAT because of royalties - gotta pay MS for the two newer formats. If I had a spare drive it would nice to carry all my music around on a mini thumb drive and even use it to record to. I wish I had one of these 25yrs ago. I'm hoping I don't come home from work and find my daughter has blown the speakers, but I am curious how far I can push these little powerhouses.

Average stereo. Invest a little bit more for better quality. Average not bad.

Too Much Bass. Preset Sound Controls Only. Speakers are thin Pressboard. You will need to splice speaker wires if you need to extend speaker distance from Base Unit. Sounds like a loud speaker in a cardboard box.
