BUT I purchased product protection and now Best Buy says they don't carry the remote - that I should buy it and they will reimburse me. They do carry it - it's on their website and in-stock.

Defective Infrared + UNHELPFUL Customer Service!

Even though we have done countless years of business and personal shopping at Best Buy they are refusing to help us with the TV that is not communicating correctly with the remote. We returned to the store and BEST BUY made us buy a new remote. We brought it home and it just PROVED that it is the tv INFRARED that is DEFECTIVE. The BB staff won’t help us take any steps to rectify this defective TV—that is NEW and we’ve never been able to watch. We are BB members and within the 60 days. But no one cares. Next time we buy from Amazon with better customer service!

I made the purchase for my Granny because it was supposed to be older adult user friendly but she still has to use two remotes and the color is not very good. I normally am pleased with LG products but this time not so much.
