Paid a ton of monery for terrible tasting ice

Fridge operates fine and looks great but the ice TASTES LIKE PLASTIC. We have tried multiple new water filters, replaced the water line (even though best buy required a new one purchased with fridge), dumped TONS of buckets of ice, emptied the entire fridge to let it air out, scrubbed it with baking soda and nothing works.the water tastes great but the ice does not at all. Highly disappointing because we bought this fridge due to our last one not having ice at all so now we have spent thousands of dollars only to be without ice again. The irony is that this fridge makes 6 djfferent kinds of ice and they are all terrible tasting. READ THE ONLINE FORUMS, ITS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH NO SOLUTIONS FROM LG. Shame.

To help, please try this step: run a manual ice maker cleaning cycle by discarding all current ice, then pressing and holding the Ice Plus button to force a new batch. Afterward, discard the first 2–3 cycles of ice to allow the system to flush. It’s also helpful to wipe down the ice bin with a clean, dry cloth to remove any residual odors. The Best Buy installers used one and the water and ice tasted awful. We spoke with LG and they said NOT to use a metal flex hose, and recommend a PEX supply line. A PEX supply line ($10 on Amazon) looks like the water supply lines on the back of the fridge.

That’s about all I can say that’s positive. The freezer is so limited on space. The extra shelf in the middle just takes up room. The top shelf you can put very small things only. The fridge is small also. Anything taller than a jar of mayo will not fit so everything sits laying down. Disappointed.
