I didn't like the speakers and the picture was just ok. Actually upgraded to a 60" Samsung. I like the picture better on it. But the LG was not bad overall I think I just got a lemon.

I bought this TV for our kitchen and it was adequate for the kitchen, but would buy a higher quality one as my main TV.

Not smart for a SMART HDTV

The WiFi internet feature doesn't work properly and you need a professional IT whiz to figure out how it will work. The WiFi adapter is so weak and always thrown down by other wifi-enabled devices to get a signal. To make it work, a specific IP address was made just to make this device connect to the internet. This is not a good device if you opted to be wireless and there's no Bluetooth as well. The security also sucks since it can't accommodate a 64-bit password for wifi connectivity. Also, you need to type the wifi password all the time and no option to view password. I asked for the LG engineer thru their customer rep for all these issues but it's been a month now and I haven't heard from their engineer yet. We also bought a 50" Panasonic Plasma SMART HDTV but none of these problems we ever encountered.

Picture quality was substandard, with fuzzy outlines around everything. Spent hours fine tuning the picture menu items with no improvement. Returned it and bought a SAMSUNG which had a perfect picture even without any fine tuning.

Sound is the worst of any TV I have purchased. I would like for Best Buy to allow me to return it for another brand. The salesperson was very helpful, but this product isn't worth the money.

Great Picture, but Sound could be better

This was my first TV purchase in over 10 years. I did a lot of research before buying and the LG was a contender from the start (Vizio, and Panasonic were the others). The Price was a bit high, but getting a 1080p - 120hz smart TV in that size was still competitive with other brands. It was super easy to set up, maybe 10 minutes to get the channels programmed and connected to the internet. All the apps on the TV were easy to use and set up. The picture was great right from the start, and with some changes in the settings you can customize it almost any way you want. Biggest reason I got the TV was for gaming, and I am not disappointed in any way, They look amazing on this TV. I would recommend a external sounds system, but with some tweaking you can get the sound quality to be pretty good.

Purchased this about a week ago and really like it. Picture is great and the TV offers a couple of ways to calibrate it. You can go through and do it professionally or use the built in wizard setup and it does a pretty good job. No complaints so far. Looked at this and the Vizio M401i-A3 and the reviews for the LG were much better and recommended. I have to agree. Bigger TV and very nice features. The apps work great and its is easy to use.

    No surround sound input

The reason I chose to buy this television over any other was for the 3 HDMI inputs and optical audio output so that I could change inputs on the TV but still have surround sound. It's too bad I didn't get a chance to test the HDMI audio until after the new 15-day exchange period ended. The surround sound feature should be removed from the HDMI section of this product's feature page, as LG's troubleshooting pages even say that they chose not to include that functionality. Aside from that, it's a great TV. If you have a surround sound signal coming from a file on a USB thumbdrive, over your network, or on Netflix and going to your sound system via optical, it works great. The picture is clear, and even the built-in speakers sound good. 3 HDMI ports is a big plus, assuming you don't mind everything being stereo. The smart features are just okay. Netflix is there, you can push youtube videos from iOS and Android phones/tablets, and you can use it as a networked media player with DLNA. Amazon Instant Video was available on last-year's edition of this television, but it's not available on this one. LG says it's likely (but not certain) the app will become available eventually. The app marketplace doesn't have much of anything interesting to choose from, and I don't think it ever will. The LG smart TV API is basically a restricted version of a web interface with minimal access to audio, video, USB, and HDMI APIs. Many of the help pages point you to documentation the old LG API which is no longer supported on new models. The developer forums are full of people who were mis-led from tech support forums. Why did I give it a low rating but say I'd recommend it to a friend? I rated it based on the mediocre implementation of the TV's main selling points. However, I realize that most people don't care about surround sound from the DVD player or the app development API, so I'd recommend the TV to them.

I purchased this TV this weekend and had it set up and fully functional in about 30 minutes. Once I turned it on I was amazed at the difference of the quality versus the tube tv that I was replacing. Once I got the cable company to come out and swap me to an HD cable box, I have not left the HD channels. This was a great purchase for my tv and blu ray (which I purchased at the same time) viewing. Also downloaded the LG remote to my iPhone and that's is a cool feature to have.

Best TV I have ever owned, My 2nd LG model

I bought this HGTV back in early December and must say it is the best TV I have ever owned. I compared various makes and models for months before making my decision. I have not been disappointed. This is my 2nd LG model TV. Although it is not 3D the picture is so clear it almost looks like it is because the picture pops off the screen. The audio is OK for an HGTV although most folks including myself hook these TV's up to their home theater systems or sound bars. I connected the TV to the internet thru the built in wireless connection and the hookup was simple and painless. There are many "apps" at your fingertips like Netflix, Huluplus, youtube, news, weather, etc. You can also browse the web to find your favorite sites. All in all, a great TV

We bought a new Vizio 40" to upgrade from a five year old 32" Toshiba. Wasn't happy with the boot up time and fact that picture and voice were not simultaneous. We took the Vizio back to the store and bought this LG. Immediate difference with color, clarity, boot up time, etc. Remote is easy to use and set up was a breeze. Love it so far!

I purchased the LG 5700 two days ago the picture is so realistic & clear that it seems you're on the same court with Lebron. My advice to anyone who purchase this model to get a protection plan & a sound bar cause this tv is more picture than sound, also the apps is great with plenty to choose from very impressive.

Perfect tv for customer who wants to use basic features. Easy to stream netflix etc using smart features. Beautiful picture, and average sound quality. Eco efficient. Hard to set up because the screws provided didn't fit tv properly. Not easy to use for internet navigation. If you plan on using online, get a wireless keyboard. Tons of usb/hdmi ports.Overall, nice product for the price.

The set-up was really easy and I'm happy to say that Amazon Prime is available on this TV. The sound is better than I expected (Music setting), and better than my other LED TV. There is only one Composite input (RCA / Red, yellow, white) but maybe most people don't need more than that.

Bought this TV almost 2 weeks ago. I love it. I got this TV for $699.99(retails for &799.99). I wanted 3D also, but oh-well. I love all the features of this TV. 4.5 out of 5 stars all the way....will enjoy it for years to come. Six months free Netflix. Netflix froze up twice already, not sure if it was my router or the TV itself,no biggie.
