Easy setup;poor picture quality

As I was happy with my LG, I thought nothing of purchasing a smaller set. The set-up instructions were easy to follow and the whole process was a breeze. However, picture quality was poor; checked all connections but still picture not acceptable. Returned TV, and purchased another brand -picture quality is excellent.
