I only read a few of the reviews b4 purchasing. I will be returning this tv in a few days as soon as I can get someone to uninstall it for me. It keeps dropping the Wi-Fi and has a blurred picture from time to time. I agree with past reviews that it has a soap opera look to it. I kept trying to get passed it, but I can't.

    A GREAT UPGRADE TV!

I received this 43" TV on 11/14, did not unpack/set up until the next day and have been familiarizing with since. The screen is perfect for my viewing area, but others may want larger screens - no change in performance, but just with a bigger screen. The specific is 43UJ6200 (first two numbers to denote the screen size), though there is no difference with the 6300 series that is more broadly available. Review: It lives up to every definition of being a 4K UHD (ultra high definition) smart TV, that happens to capture over the air TV broadcasts. It is mostly menu driven via the remote, making it sort of critical to this TV's functionality (thinking about getting a backup remote, for 'just in case.) The menu items that come with it are non-intutive 'symbols' with definitions of what they do attached to them to explain what they do. Very much worth the time to explore them and 'tinker' with settings. If you overdo something, you can always reset the TV to the factory defaults (which are pretty good to begin with). I tweaked my TV 's colors a bit from 1st placing it in 'cinema mode) and then adjusting the colors from there, particularly green tones and red tones. These came out a little too vivid, particularly grass and Caucasian flesh. A bit too green (for plants) and a bit too pink flesh tones. Toned down, they view as realistic as I gets when seeing in real life! I also turned on the dynamic contrast control to account for room lighting and increased it for movie watching. As to the latter, one can discern detail from dark scenes that are slightly brighter than a normally dark area. As to darkness, where it is supposed to be black, it is VERY dark/black. No complaints here as to what the much more expensive OLED contrast is supposed to provide. This TV will also surf the web too, via a built in browser. Any necessary typing is via a 'point and click on screen keyboard.' It simply 'screams' for the ability to plug in a an external keyboard that you might buy at some computer store for fast typing. That might work too, but have not tried yet. All in all, a GREAT TV upgrade!

Seems to be a generic problem with LG after I searched on the internet. They dont have a software upgrade for my TV model which fixes it either. And now it is just over a year so out of warranty support too. Disappointed!

Best 4K TV at this price

Bought it yesterday on sale and was completely blown away by the picture quality and built in SMART apps. I tested with both wireless and cable. On wireless it uses 5Ghz band and could watch Netflix 4K without any issue. Excellent black levels and it comes preset with excellent picture setting so you don't have to play with it. My recommendation is just buy it.

These are the optimal picture settings for this TV: aspect ratio: 16:9 just scan: on energy saving: off eye comfort mode: off picture mode:standard backlight:100 contrast:95 brightness:60 sharpness:25 color:55 tint:0 color tempature:C20 Advanced controls: dynamic contrast:off dynamic color:meduim prefered color skin color:0 grass color:0 sky color:0 color gamut:auto super resolution:off gamma:meduim picture options noise reduction:off MPEG noise reduction:off black level: low real cinema:off motion eye care:off trumotion:off sound mode settings:cinema also make sure you update firmware under general about tv The picture out of the box is really poor because of the settings. This TV requires a lot of tweaking the settings. I would recommend using my optimal picture settings. Once I changed the settings the picture was excellent. A big plus to this TV is the dynamic color settings. Turning on the dynamic color really makes the picture look way better the colors are deeper and richer, I was watching over the air 720p NFL game and the dynamic color setting made the picture way better, the NFL field(grass) had a much more realistic deep and rich green color. I had a 1080p HIsense TV and when you have the dynamic color turned on this LG looks better than the hisense. The screen cast from phone to the TV works excellently. With my hisense tv the screen cast would skip and lag and I would have to reset my router each time I wanted to do screen cast. With this TV the screen cast works perfectly every time and never lags and I do not have to reset my router to get it to work properly. One thing to mention is when I use the screen cast the sound output is quieter than when using the antenna or cable, in screen cast the volume is still loud enough I just have to turn the volume all the way up. I don't have any 4k content so i can't speak to picture on 4k but, with SD,720p, and 1080p the picture is excellent. If you were to compare this TV vs a 1080p TV both displaying 1080p content this TV would have better picture quality because of the dynamic color setting. The biggest con of this TV is the sound, the sound is not very good on this TV, I actually think my 39in 1080p hisense had better sound than this TV. This tv's sound is very hollow sounding. I have a soundbar though so I was not concerned with sound quality. I tried playing a movie(MKV file) and music(mp3) from USB from my phone connected to TV's usb but it did not work, the TV did not recongize the file formats, when I went into the folders on the TV it just did not show the files. This is not an android TV. There are basically 2 types of smart tvs right now android tvs and "smart tvs." 99% of the tvs on the market right now are "smart tvs" not android tvs. This tv is a "smart tv" not an android tv which means you can screen cast from your phone to the tv, tv has wifi, tv has a web browser, tv has a few built in apps like netflix and amazon prime. This tv does not have the google play store and it does not run on android so you will not be able to download your own apps like showtime, hbo, etc, to get this option of downloading your own apps from playstore you need to get a TV which runs on an android operating system, right now android tvs are insanely expensive, cheapest android bestbuy sells is a sony 43 in for $600. Rather than buying an android tv your better off buying a "smart tv" like this tv and then buying an amazon firestick. With the firestick you can plug it into your hdmi port and it basically turns your tv into and android tv, you will be able to get all the streaming apps like sling, netflix, hbo go, etc. When you use this TV on over the air antenna(free tv) you actually get a TV guide which is really cool. You can view whats on tv several days in advance, the tv guide is pretty much identical to what you would see on a cable plan tv guide, you do need to have the tv connected to wifi to use this future. You can also get free content if the tv is connected to wifi from IPTV from channels like msnbc, fox sports, and some others but, it’s not live tv, it’s just replays of already aired shows like morning joe and skip and shannon undisputed. 0.5 off for poor sound quality from the tv's speakers and 0.25 off for not having optimal picture settings out of the box and needing so much tweaking of the settings. Total 4/5 stars

Update the firmware!! Before you get started...

My 2 Yr. old Samsung T.V was starting to go on the fritz, so I decided to look into my Geek Squad coverage and lo and behold!! I saw this T.V on sale for $279.00!! Coincidence? I think not?, more like a no brainer!. So I immediately ordered one for pick-up before they sold out. After setting it up for the first time and hooking my Xbox One S to it and fiddling around with the settings on my Sat receiver and my Xbox , I was starting to become a little bit disappointed with the results I was getting. Then it occurred to me? Maybe I should check to see if the T.V needed to be updated? Duh!! After a little googling, I found out on how to up date. Go into settings Menu - Go to "Genera"l - then "About T.V" and check the software Version. (Mine was 03.60.25). It updated to Version 04.70.03. After updating there was a huge difference with the picture!! Everything looked great!! So overall I'm very impressed with this T.V so far. For the price point you can't go wrong. Hope this saves everybody from some frustration.
