    Love Picture but...

setup was a nightmare. This is my first smart TV. The setup instructions were actually 8 pages of cartoons. When you cut the TV on, it goes through a series of questions that are supposed to set it up (with this annoying computer voice in the background speaking rapidly). There was NO explanation of what the different choices meant! The TV didn't seem to have a setup for my cable box and it couldn't find my wifi (even though it listed above 10 other networks). Luckily customers had been complaining about the same things on a different model so I followed their directions and got the thing setup. Now for the good part, the picture is great. I particularly like the upscaler since my cable does not come in 4K. I have found some 4K videos on youtube and they are stunning on the TV. For those interested, the TV comes with a standard remote. The setup was a nightmare but the results are great!

The up in quality compared to 1080p is outstanding and the upscaling works very well. Plus this has HDR and loads of easy to use features. The smart interface is very user intuitive.

I was looking to upgrade the TV in my bedroom. I wanted a 4K Smart TV and this LG was all I needed. Awesome picture, Easy installation, Easy to use apps and WiFi ready. Man, what more can I say? "Amazing picture for the price I Paid." Now, I have to upgrade my surround sound and add an Ultra 4K DVD player to complete the ensemble. Every TV that I have in my home has come from Best Buy. Bought this TV around Thanksgiving and on the weekends I find myself Binge-Watching something on Netflix. Gotta Love It. PS Best Buy, Please add a radial button that says, "I Would Strongly Recommend This To A Friend."....LOL!!

4k 40+inches for under 350? You wouldnt think it, but this the panel is fairly nice. I do a lot of pc gaming and a little on my ps4 and this thing looks fantastic. Hdr makes ps4 games much better to look at and over all seems like a quality tv. I only paid 307 after tax on black friday so id say for that much i really got my moneys worth. The only thing i dislike about this is that it doesnt work with usb dongles for headphones, so im stuck to using the optical. I think an aux would be a good addition as well as an easier to use remote. I find myself constantly having to search the remote for the right button to click.

    Fabulous picture and sound

As I now have it set up, this TV really deserves a 5-star rating. Why the 4 stars? Just because ...and as others have noted... this TV takes some tweaking to get the picture just right. A definite first step would be to disable the eco-setting which darkens the picture too much....for me, anyway. Sound can also be enhanced greatly compared to the default settings the unit comes with. The picture is simply fantastic, and looks like 4K even though the best resolution my ATT service provides is 1080i. It streams internet video content extremely well. Connectivity is great - 3 HDMI ports, and even an ethernet connection; wireless works great, by the way. A large number of LG IP stations are provided all in HD and organized conveniently into groups --- news, comedy, sports, etc. These appear seamlessly with on-air digital TV, for which reception is much better than on my older TV, using the same antenna. The provided remote works quite well in navigating through these stations... These plus an android or other such TV box, really make cutting the cord a decent option. In short, I would enthustiastically recommend this TV for anyone willing to put up with a minimal amount of adjusting and tweaking. This set provides all the adjustment possibilities one would hope for. The only thing I wish it had was bluetooth built in.

Good for Gaming, but horrible QC

I bought this TV specifically to play on my X-box One X. I wasn't planning on using this for TV watching so please keep that in mind. Out of the box, the colors were over saturated, and the picture was really dark. After using the calibration settings from rtings dot com, the picture really improved. Make sure to turn off the "Eco" mode, it makes a big difference in the color and contrast. I tried watching Hulu just to test the TV aspect and the picture was pixelated. Granted this was streaming over wifi. If I had a direct connection, or a cable box it might make more of a difference. Gaming however was awesome, it seemed like the TV was made for the X-box. The colors were great, and the lag was impressive. Where I had real issues was with the quality control. The TV felt very poorly put together. The plastic felt cheap and out of the box made a rattle sound inside. The panel was loose from the frame and there was a lot of flex in the back plastic. I hope this was just a fluke as I've always only used LG TV's and monitors, but it was too much for me. I ended up trading this in for the Samsung 6300, and so far the picture is better and the quality of the build is much tighter. I still like LG, but this one just wouldn't cut it!

    Good Picture After Adjustments

    Posted .

I was replacing a 2005 Panasonic Plasma and wanted something that would give decent wide angle viewing and thus picked LG since my understanding is they use IPS technology which helps in that regard. I knew though it would not compare to a plasma TV, but it turned out to be pretty good. (OLED would be the best but still way too expensive for me.) So, on that front I am satisfied. However, out of the box I did not like the brightness of the unit, and it did not seem to have that color pop which I like. The solution is to explore the different settings for the picture to achieve the look you like. You can customize your own picture or work with the presets they give you like VIVID, SPORTS etc. The other adjustment I made based on comments from others was to turn off "Energy Saving." I now have a picture I am very pleased with. I also love the "Smart" aspects of the TV. It connects well to my home wireless network, and it is great to have apps like Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Youtube and more available without having to attach an external device. There are plenty of inputs for my needs. My only complaint is that you can not label them onscreen to show the source (e.g. DVD versus HDMI 1). All in all though, for a 43" 2160p Smart TV under $400 this seems like a good buy.

    So Far So Good ~

Purchased an open box set at a good savings. Set up pretty straight forward. Took a bit to figure out how to switch the input to the tv to HDMI. Hint: Its that thing on the remote that looks like a mouse. There isn't that much being broadcast at 4K so if you buy it with the expectation that its going to look like it did in the store you may be disappointed. I'm usually a fan of Samsung but, this is every bit as good and less expensive than Samsung's comparative model less the blue tooth feature that it offers.

Pros, all the things mentioned by others. Only concern, and maybe this is the trend, they have eliminated the 1/8 " headphone jack. Overall enjoy the picture quality. Great sensitivity with over air tuning. And built in wifi so didn't need hardwire internet connection. Amazed at how many channels are tuneable including iptv from the internet.

The images and colors on this TV are nothing less than incredible. Also was very impressed with the sound on it. I have not turned the volume up passed 40 so I can only imagine how loud it can get. Most quality TV I've seen for the price and I'm completely satisfied with my purchase.
