Nice picture, not so nice construction

I'm overall satisfied with the TV in terms of picture and custom settings. I actually use it for a computer monitor and split the screen. The IPS screen is sharp and crisp to be used as a very large monitor. The viewing angles aren't important to me but if they are then an IPS is the way to go. The downside is the spread of the wall mount holes in the back are probably a VESA standard but they are very far apart so be sure if wall mounting the bracket fits. The remote is a little funky because their are too many buttons and the layout is mostly logically done but I always have trouble finding the menu button because guess what - there isn't one. Instead you have the gear icon which pops up a menu on the right side of the screen then you scroll through to find which menu item you need. The menu has often used and directly editable items and then you have the 'all settings' option so you can do more fine tuning. There are quick buttons for Netflix and Amazon if you have the TV hooked up to the internet which is nice. The sound is acceptable but who uses TV speakers these days so not that important. One weakness is construction. The cabinet is flimsy and would probably easily break if not handled with care. The back plastic easily caves in and the bezel creaks and cracks when moving the TV. The front panel seems a bit cheap also. But for $269 and cheaper it is a good buy especially if you want an IPS instead of TN screen.

We purchased this on sale about a month ago as a Christmas present. As there were few reviews and the price was so good I was very hesitant but have had really good luck with LG over the years. My last purchase was another brand, starts with an S and while that 43" is fantastic, the newer models reviews are lacking. I can't comment on the legs as I used a wall mount but the process was simple with a generic mounting kit. It's not as thin as my other 43" but the housing is sturdy and light. I did need to tweak the picture a little but it looks fantastic with a 4K stream (have DTV and don't have a 4K mini for it yet). Sleep timer is a nice feature as it's in a bedroom and the multiple HDMI ports are nice. My only complaint and I didn't take stars off for it is that I can't find a way to get DTV to show up as "live TV" and can only set it up as a "set top box." This isn't an issue necessarily as it defaults to that but more of an aesthetic. Just learning the WebOS so that may be the issue. The sound and selections are very good, more than loud enough for a bedroom. Nothing is ever perfect but I don't think I could ask for more at this price, it looks great and works. I think we may actually go buy another one while it's still on sale for another bedroom...

    Review For "Cord-Cutters"

    Posted .

Review for LG 43in. First of all this is very light weight, even boxed it's a little over 20 lbs. I'm 58, & 5'2, 110 Lbs and I handled this like the boss :) It's so slim with minimal packaging, fit perfect into my little Chevy Spark, with room to spare. Set up: these newer TV's have what is referred to as "Soap Opera Effect." It makes everything seem like you're the one holding the camera and following people around filming. It can be adjusted or better yet turned off. It's called TRUMOTION. There are A lot of adjustments and be prepared to spend time tweaking to your liking. I'm a cord cutter... No internet, No cable. I get 34 over the air channels (Elk Grove, Calif). I use a basic rabbit ears type of antenna. All shows come through as expected, even the older movies. I also use a Blu-Ray player, I had to adjust setting to find a happy medium with such a high Definition Tv. I dropped the player down to 720p. So far so good. I see people complaining about the flimsy legs, the TV is only 18 lbs, the legs, if properly installed are just fine. Lastly.... There are plenty of YouTube vids with great suggestions on set up and configurations.

For the price of the TV , phenomenal! Picture is so clear, we currently have this in our apartment in our living room. It's great, easy to use and there is even an app you can download so you can control everything like channels, volume, and TV app like Youtube, Netflix, Hulu off your smart phone! I love this TV! Best investment yet! I can be in the kitchen and i can control everything from the touch of my smart phone which is my favorite feature by far. Aside from that feature, the quality is great! I love this TV it's a huge step up from the 1080FHD TV we had previously. It's crazy how technology can advance so quickly and make everything look so good and clear now these days!

    Extraordinary deal

I purchased this TV as a special offer, as a treat, to experience 4k, HDR and experiment with the TV as a computer monitor. The quality and technology in this unit for the $ I paid is simply remarkable Feed it quality 4k content, and the images are wonderful. For some of my electronic music, the sound system built in is remarkable as well. Navigation of the internet and streaming sources is as described somewhat clunky. Yes, if often struggles with substandard video content. I am experimenting with the various settings, but NO, we are not yet at the technological level, that this TV can create an excellent image out of a bad image, some it does often surprise me and I am experimenting with the various settings. I am sure that there are better TVs. I am sure that the developers will continue to improve these technologies. But for now, this is a wonderful deal, for a wonderful product of Korean technology and knowhow.

LG UK6090 4K 43” TV. I love this TV. It has a great picture and great color. The best remote I’ve ever owned, with all buttons feeling good and well positioned on the remote. Easy to ARC with a receiver. The settings list is easy to navigate. The TV runs cool, which means it uses little electricity to run. The speakers are pretty good, and the TV has different sound fields you can select from. The stereo effect coming from the back of the TV is excellent. Of course you can pay more for a TV with a better picture, though I’m unsure that OLED and QLED are even available in a 43” size. Every LG product I’ve ever owned is still running to this day, from DVD burners to smartphones to TVs. I’m very happy with this purchase.
