Great Choice, As Expected
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV was purchased as a replacement for an LG 32” model that I bought so long ago that the receipt for it is now in an historical archive somewhere even though the TV itself still works. Well, that is, after it’s restarted a couple of times to warm up the capacitors or whatever powers the pixels. I love that TV, and I love this one even more. After a bit of tinkering with the picture options to suite the environment in which it is to reside – a rather small home office with a mix of overhead LED and indirect sunlight – and loading and upgrading (then upgrading again) the apps in the WebOS environment, I was ready to enjoy another satisfying LG entertainment relationship. I did not come away disappointed in any way. The WebOS is very easy to navigate and the number of apps available from the LG Content Store is adequate if not overwhelmingly large. I will, however, agree with a couple of the other reviewers who lamented the inadequate build quality of the stand legs provided with this model (“cheap plastic” comes to mind), and the tiny, crowded, although adequate remote control. To be honest, this review is really an assessment, if not a revelation, of how spectacularly accurate and pleasing the pictures generated by IPTV streaming services on a UHD LG TV can be. Simply put, the contrast, black level and overall picture detail on UHD streams on Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, Netflix and other services is as close to lifelike as I have seen on a TV of this or any other size. HD cable broadcasts in full HD (1080P) are also richly detailed and pleasing. I also currently own two other LG’s (55” and 65”) and a 43” Sony Bravia to compare this model to and have easily concluded that it more than holds its own against the larger LG’s and far surpasses the Sony in every aspect.

||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lg products are mostly great, EXCEPT TV! Horrible. Nothing but issues and stupidly bought another thinking it was that particular model. Nope. They all suck.

Great TV!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been looking at tv’s for quite a while. I knew I wanted a 4K which would be easy to set up. Well this tv has met all my expectations! I wish it had come with the voice remote but you can upgrade and buy the remote for about $45. The picture quality is also very good and apps can be used with little effort!

Highly Recommend
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the 2nd 43" LED we bought from Best Buy. Why? Because my husband knocked over the Vizio 6 series we bought in November and cracked the screen. I went back to Best Buy with a picture of the tv with the cracked screen and it was beyond repair. I spotted this LG and it was less money than the Vizio, but the sales person recommended it over the same Vizio I just had. Boy was she right! I am so pleased with this one. The picture is great, sound is great, and the platform for streaming is so much easier than the google platform the Vizio comes with. Very easy to set up. I do recommend getting a wall mount or a stand as the legs that come with these smaller tv's are not as sturdy as they use to be.

Great TV, but may need to change default settings
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This a great TV, but you will need to make some adjustments if you aren't happy with it. When I first turned on the TV, I was disappointed. Just wasn't as vibrant as I thought/hoped it would be. Couldn't put my finger on why I wasn't happy with it. The next day when it was brighter outside, the TV was almost too dark to even see. I was convinced I would have to return it to the store, but with all the positive reviews figured maybe I needed to adjust something. I then remembered several of the video reviews I saw online said you should to turn off or at least turn down the eco mode as it turns down the brightness. I turned off the eco mode (or whatever it's called) and it was much brighter. It's still a tad dark at times, but not near as dark as it was when the eco mode was on. It is now watchable. One thing that may impact some people is there is only an optical audio connection out. There isn't RCA or a headphone connection like a lot of TV's have. I had to buy a digital to audio converter (only $11 online) since my receiver didn't have a digital input. Not a big deal, but something people should keep in mind. When I connected the optical output to my receiver, it worked perfectly when I used my PS 4. When I switched over to my streaming media device, the receiver didn't work. The internal speaker worked fine, but could not get sound out of the optical connection with the streaming media device. Was once again about to return the TV, but then set the sound to the internal speaker and optical out (the last setting) and it worked perfectly. You can mute the TV or turn the TV volume down and doesn't impact the receiver. It's actually a great option, because I can use the TV speaker but leave the receiver turned off if someone is sleeping without having to switch the setting each time. I would give this TV 5 stars if it were a little brighter, but it's still a great TV for the price.

Great TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was confused between Samsung NU7100 vs this one. After great difficulty made my decision to buy this and i am very glad about my decision. I am writing this review after my 1 month of the purchase. Picture Quality 4/5 (Could have been more crispier), Sound quality 6/5 (Yes, the sound is crazy high) lot more than we ask for, which would freak out our neighbours. It has all the required ports and the smart features. Under 400 bucks this is an undoubtedly the best TV you will find. Samsung NU7100 picture wasn't bright and had very minimal sound. So, go for this.

Great TV for the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this to replace an older Panasonic Plasma TV. I'm a big fan of plasma because of the great picture and I have to say that LED and LCD TV's have come a long ways. The picture on this TV is fabulous. It takes a bit of messing with the settings to get this great picture though. Right out of the box the settings by default make the picture hard to see with any sort of sunlight hitting the screen. Angle view wise, the plasma is better, but straight on viewing on this TV is superb. The TV also has an OK sound, nothing great. To get the sound to match with the wonderful picture you really need a sound system, the onboard speakers just don't cut it. Would I buy it again? Yes I would!

If only the remote worked with Directv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picture and sound quality is very good. Setup was easy also. Only issue is the remote which is supposed to be compatible with my Directv box. Unfortunately it isn't. The setup process has a choice of two different boxes (1 and 2). Neither seemed to work. The directv remote does work with the tv so most of the time I can use that remote but still need the LG remote for Netflix and such. A minor inconvenience. Nothings perfect.

Great 4k tv for the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to replace an old 43" Samsung Plasma tv that stopped working. Same size but 1/3 the weight and much better picture. Blacks are not quite as good but darn close. I have a 55" older LG that I had to add a soundbar to but no complaints about the sound on this one. Much better than anticipated. Easy setup.

Great Smart AI TV for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just bought this television because of the price and it's smart capabilities. This TV works with Google and Alexa for voice activated commands of the TV. Works for turning off TV, changing channels, accessing apps like Netflix and up/down volume. There is some lag at times with alexa and LG but overall the TV is good and the quality for 4K with Netflix is good although there is no Dolby Vision.

Cheap Quality, Bad with Black Colors
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: 1) The TV was really responsive for video games and when I hooked up my laptop up to it. 2) The smart tv apps and overall function of the smart features are great and very intuitive. 3) The HDR 4K seemed very good with color reproduction, but the blacks seemed gray instead of black. Cons: 1) Very cheap legs, it uses a small screw to attach it to the television and feels like they'll break off. They seem like they won't hold up over time. 2) The blacks seemed gray no matter what I adjusted in the settings. 3) The tv reflects light too much. With the picture being very dark overall this makes it bad to view the picture in both bright and dark rooms. 4) The colors seemed very dark even with the backlight levels turned up. 5) The remote doesn't light up. When viewing it in the dark you have to sometimes turn a light on just to tell the buttons apart. 6) The sound is bad quality, but that's to be expected in nearly every television set nowadays. There are soundbars if you want to avoid this. I ended up returning this tv. The cheap quality of the plastic legs and gray looking blacks made this not a television I wanted to keep. I'd say its an ok television and the colors besides the blacks are very good. I ended up getting a Vizio E-Series which has local dimming and a better overall picture. The biggest differences between the two for me is the LG had better color reproduction, but the Vizio has better blacks that actually look black and not gray. I would of stuck with this LG if the legs weren't as cheap and the blacks were accurate. I can't screw anything into the walls where I live which makes getting a wall mount not possible. I wanted to like this television set but it wasn't worth it in the end.
