I think that this TV is really great for the price, especially if you catch one of the sales that Best Buy has been offering. While it lacks some of the features of the C1, none felt like deal breakers to me. In a room that gets medium to low light, I thought that the TV was plenty bright, clear, and contrast was great as expected. Very thin and looks great on wall mount. Setting up the tv had some minor software issues but otherwise have had no problems with WebOS. If you integrate an Apple TV and a soundbar, an Apple TV Remote can control all 3 devices (no need for 3 remotes). If you want a solid OLED that checks all of the basic boxes, this is a really good options. If you are looking for extra features like 120 Hz, HDMI 2.1, or even more brightness for sunny rooms, the C1 or a Sony panel may be more satisfactory but with added costs. Great balance of budget and delivering the OLED standard at a very good price.

I waited as much as I could before writing this review. So I could get some real world experience with this tv. This is my first OLED, I've had various other TV's. VA panels, LED, micro LED, plasma, nano cell etc. OLED is hands down the best technology. I love this TV. Watching a 4k UHD Blu-ray with Dolby Vision is absolutely fantastic! My Xbox series x looks amazing too. Even Netflix looks crazy good! I'm really happy with this tv, especially at this price point. The only negative I can think of is that its a 60Hz panel. But I knew that going in and it's a technical detail that only matters if you have one if the new gaming systems that lets you do 120Hz. For what it is, a bedroom tv. It's perfect.

Amazing picture quality and even the sound without a sound bar has been great so far! We love the rotating art when the tv is in standby mode!

We purchased this beautiful LG OLED 48 inch TV for our bedroom and it is perfect.

I love my new Lg OLED tv. I Purchased in over a year ago, no regrets. The picture and sound is AMAZING; especially watching movies. I'm not a gamer, so tv was perfect for me.

I've been enjoying the incredible resolution and clarity that 8 million pixels provide on the screen. I was pleased to find that this unit was compatible with my LG surround sound system with a digital optical audio cable connection.

Got this for my husband, spent $1000 and it doesn’t work. Can’t get ahold of the manufacturer for the warranty and unable to return after 1/16. Customer service will help us get ahold of the manufacturer for assistance to get a claim in. Frustrating. Wouldn’t recommend spending this much money on a lemon.

I'd been wanting to upgrade my office/movie room television to OLED for awhile and I finally took the plunge once I caught this on sale for $799. I love to watch movies and do some console gaming from time to time so I knew that this TV had the right balance of features to make those activities more enjoyable. OLED has beautiful contrast, colors and true blacks similar to plasma TVs. Some reviewers said the TV was too "dim" but I haven't noticed that at all--it really depends on the room you will be using it in (i.e. windows and curtains or none). Some cons? This TV "only" does 60hz refresh rate and only has HDMI 2.0 and the a7 instead of the a9 image processor but, respectfully, whatever. It depends on how you are going to use the TV. If PS5 or XBSX or PC gaming isn't your main thing, this TV will do everything you need it to do to enjoy a great evening of movie or TV viewing. You can still game on it, but if you're going to be obsessed about the bleeding edge features of a monitor or TV, get the C1 or a gaming monitor instead. The speakers sound good for casual viewing but do pair it with a sounder when you're watching your movies or shows to give yourself a fuller sound experience with bass. Ultimately, it's a wonderful TV and if you can catch it on sale around $800 that's a Best Buy!

I bought this TV back in February 2022, so I think that it is time that I give an honest review. This was my very first TV purchase. At the time, I was living in a shoebox in NYC, so buying a massive TV when I was only going to be 8 ft, tops, away from the screen made no sense. Now, I am a Sony girl when it comes to TVs... I mean, we refused to buy X-Box and were strictly Playstation family (and yes, as a family, we have owned at least one of every PlayStation system that has come out with the exception of the PSP), but I could not find a Sony TV in this size that was OLED and for a price that I thought was reasonable (actually, if I recall correctly, Samsung and Sony did not have an OLED that was smaller than 50" at the time--that may have changed... I don't know and I don't really care anymore), so I looked at the LG models (not that LG and Samsung are cheaper than Sony, necessarily, but just had better deals at the time). I was between this one and the higher grade one (I think this one was the 2021 model and there was a brand new one that came out that was close to this size) and went for the cheaper, older (but not even really old) model because... stewardship. So anyway, here are my thoughts: Pros: - Good looking machine--if you like sleek, thin TVs, then this one is it. I like my electronics to look attractive and also understated (um, that's why I give Apple ALL of my money, for real) and this one definitely fits the bill. But in all seriousness, this TV will be in your family/living space, most likely (maybe in your bedroom--in that case, I guess it doesn't matter that much, but, I mean, you make your bed everyday, so you do care about how your room looks, unless you're a slob) and so you want things to look clean and tidy and nice, right? RIGHT? - It's a very capable TV with many different modes to fit what you are doing at the time. There is a filmmaker mode for when I am watching movies, there is a game optimizer mode for when I am playing on my PS5 or my Switch, there is a sports mode if you're into that sort of thing. Lots of ways to view your media on this one. - I don't know if ALL TVs are energy efficient, but this one definitely is. I like the sleep timer. It's a good feature that helps you not spend a bunch on energy each month because you have a habit of falling asleep in front of the TV while it is on... - Excellent picture quality and really good sound quality, especially given that I don't have a sound bar (I should get one... oh, I'm a Bose girly for that). I am surprised that LG is able to deliver a product that is as good as my parents' Sony TVs. - It's LG ThinQ compatible, so you can control this device from your phone or tablet. So, say you accidentally left your TV on and you are in another room, you can turn it off from your phone. Pretty cool. I mean, I've only lived in shoeboxes, so not applicable to me, but if you're a rich homie, then this would be neat. - Quality to price ratio is really good. I mean, I know that TVs can get really expensive with the more features that you add on to it, but an OLED TV with this look at this price? That's pretty phenomenal. Cons: - Sometimes AirPlay does not connect. To fix, I usually have to turn off the TV, unplug it, and then plug it back in. Then it works fine, but it is an annoying step to have to go through when I am trying to watch CrunchyRoll. This could have something to do with the fact that I am on a wifi that is serviced through my apartment, and I do not have my personal internet like I did when I lived in NYC (when I first got the TV) - Parts ordering is not straightforward. Okay, I broke a part that goes on the stands, and I tried to order a replacement, but there is no information as to what is the correct part to buy, how to replace it, where to replace it, etc. I with that this was more seamless to fix. It's not a major deal to the TV itself--I've moved it twice now and it hasn't been an issue, but sometimes I wonder if one day it will be... - Maybe I have not figured it out, but I am not able to set a "default" app. I don't have cable (I have no need) but I have paid subscriptions to Paramount+, Hulu, Netflix, (occasionally) Disney+, and (of course) YouTube. I would love if it were set up where I can have the TV go to any app that I choose instead of being constrained to Netflix, LG Channels, and two others (I think Peacock and another one). I cannot speak for longevity or anything like that, since it has only been two years. Maybe I will be back in eight years to let you know how things are going. I see this one lasting for a long time!

This is my second LG 48” OLED and the 4th that I have in use at my home. The beauty of these OLED sets is that if you can fit them into your budget it becomes a no brainer. The OLED picture is what all other televisions are compared to. They are exceptional!!! Furthermore the LG operating system is really good and the “magic” remote is pretty cool as well. AND….at $799 for this particular set, the older 48A1 version, it becomes a pretty good deal. This especially if your not going to use the set for gaming and/or as a computer monitor. The faster 48C1 model is better suited for that. For the record I do have both. Also for the record…the sound that comes out of this sets internal speakers is very acceptable so there is no need in my opinion to have to worry about adding an expensive sound bar right out of the gate.

For normal use, I trust LG OLEDs. The benefits of an OLED are obvious compared to LED and worth the extra money in my opinion. I own three now and have no complaints. I'm a casual tv user and will watch a few hours a day or less. I can appreciate the contrast of colors on an OLED but I didn't calibrate the tv or measure the lumens. Picture quality is great with deep blacks. The only downside may be brightness but most TV rooms are relatively dark and it's not a big concern. No dead pixels. The sound is loud in the room I have it in. Usually I have the sound at about 10 out of 50. I was considering the C series but the higher refresh rate wasn't important to me as I don't game on the TV. To be honest, maybe I'm getting old, but I can't tell the difference between 60hz and higher on gaming laptops. LG used to have some app issues (HBO Max was unavailable on the LG store) but all the apps I need to stream shows and movies are available. Software is great and there are no crashes. The biggest downside was with setting up the laptop. Making a LG account was painful and didn't work with Google Sign In. I gave up and you don't actually need a LG account to use the TV. Wasn't a great first impression but smooth sailing after that. For 90% of TV watchers, this is a great, entry-model OLED. Has all the apps you need, great quality and loud volume. I'd consider the C-series if refresh rates are obvious to you and if you game.

The TV has a beautiful vivid picture. The blacks are really black. Looks great even in a room with a lot of window light. It's not dim at all. The sound is quite good. the volume does not need to be turned up very high for adequate sounds quality. I don't use the streaming features on the TV but our Roku looks great as well with the Nintendo Switch. I wish it had a pedestal rather than feet because it is a little difficult to move and clean behind in our stand but overall I have not regrets with this TV purchase.

The picture that OLED provides is by far the best experience. LG makes all OLED panels, so why not just go straight to the best. Now if you need 120hz, this is not for you. However, most people can't tell the difference so 60hz will be all that you need. It's also at an amazing price point. We're very happy with our purchase.

I currently have the 2018 Lg B8 OLED 55" as my main TV. I was looking for a smaller OLED for another room and the A1 seemed to be a great solution. To be clear, based on the A1's specs I would not have considered this TV at LG's original retail price point of $1299. Once the retail price was lowered significantly, it became a strong contender for me. From the many reviews I read, the cons of the A1 that came up constantly were: It's not bright enough, no VRR, no 2.1 HDMI and no 120hz refresh. For me, while it's not the brightest, it still has an outstanding picture. As for the lack of VRR, HDMI 2.1 and 120hz refresh, the only one that I would have welcomed was the HDMI 2.1 for a bit of future proofing. I do play games on a PS5 and they look and play great on the A1. I'm not a hardcore gamer and I don't play online, so the refresh rate and the lack of VRR is not a factor. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase.

This TV is good, that’s it just good. I bought this to use as monitor for editing photos and videos it didn’t work too well because the color were off especially blue and red tones. I ended just watching a bunch of content because of the infinite blacks and rich color with Dolby Atmos. This tv is very dark but your eyes will adjust. I enjoyed the remote ! Just spend the extra money and get the C1 to be future proof.
