Customers are saying

Customers are delighted by the superb picture quality, rich colors, and ease of use of the 48" Class A2 Series OLED 4K UHD Smart webOS TV. Many appreciate the OLED technology and the TV's lightweight design, making it easy to wall-mount. However, some users find the refresh rate and remote control less than ideal, and a few have expressed concerns about the user interface and operating system. The price point is frequently praised as a significant advantage.

The tv is really nice, it has really good color and the voice control choice on the remote makes it a lot easier to use. I also really like the premade buttons on the remote such as Netflix and Amazon.

Bought during Black Friday at a super low price. No need to jump to the C2 unless you play lots of games or need a bigger TV. Works well with Xbox X, and my PS5.

This was a rare electronics purchase that made me smile again and again. A terrific trifecta of price, picture, and sound — all better than expected. Even the remote impressed. Life is good!

    The Little Things

Sometimes, it's the little things that can define whether or not you and a piece of equipment can live together harmoniously. In the case of the LG A2 OLED TV, that little thing is the remote control. It is a mistake to underestimate the importance of the remote. It is your primary means of interacting with a TV, and its job is to make that interface as seamless as possible. Unfortunately, the LG "Magic Remote" defines "obtrusive", and it is the primary reason that I had to return this otherwise excellent value in a television. The 48" version of this TV was marked down from $1300 to $600. This is an amazing price, even for an entry level OLED, and I suspect that the price was dropped in order to clear out a model that has been discontinued. I'll come back to the television itself in a minute, but first allow me to finish my thoughts on the remote. The arrow buttons are located on a central disc, but that disc is concave up, making it difficult to operate. The center button (which is also a scroll wheel) is just too difficult to access and activate. Compared to my little Samsung remote, I find it to be oversized (do we REALLY still need number buttons?), heavy, and clunky. These are minor issues, but I thought they were worth mentioning. However, as you may have read in other reviews, the unforgivably annoying feature of the Magic Remote is the cursor. Touching the center ("Enter") button, bring out a cursor that you can try to use instead of the arrow buttons to make selections. Good luck with this. Waving the remote around moves the cursor, and in theory, once the cursor lands on your choice, you can accept it by pressing Enter. However, since the Enter button requires a certain amount of force to press, more often than not when you try to press Enter, the remote itself moves, causing the cursor to move away from your selection. You have now accepted either nothing (if you're lucky) or the wrong choice (if not), forcing you to now back out and try again. Live with this remote for a week, and I guarantee that you will consider trying to fine-tune it with a sledge hammer. The cursor on the Magic Remote has been reviled by LG owners since its inception. LG could easily fix this problem by just providing an option to disable the cursor. Instead, they have doubled down on it. Earlier software versions had a work-around that would disable the cursor, but that fix doesn't work on newer versions. This alone is enough to discourage me from ever buying an LG television, and LG's lack of response to customer dissatisfaction makes me leery of buying any of their other products either. As for the TV itself, let's start with the viewing angle, which is exceptional. If you have a conventional LED TV, you will be amazed at how good the picture looks even 45 degrees off axis. On-axis, with most source material, I don't think that it looks noticeably better than my Samsung QLED. In theory, OLED is a superior technology, but unless you are streaming in 4K or watching Blu-Ray Discs, I doubt that you will notice much if any difference between this and a conventional LED TV. OLED TV's look great in stores where they are displaying super-high definition content, but I think that most consumers will find them to be less dazzling at home. If you are considering the purchase of any LG TV with a Magic Remote, I strongly recommend that you first go to a store that has a demo on display and spend some time with the remote. If you're looking to upgrade to OLED, be patient and try to get (1) a discontinued model with a huge discount, and (2) any brand other than LG.

I have 55 and 65 inch 4K HD sets and the lighting on this OLED set is amazingly superior. The individually lit pixels on the OLED make the resolution unlike anything that I've ever seen, particularly when the scene has a dark background. Very impressed.

Honestly this tv is surprisingly good. The picture quality is pleasant to the eyes and for the price it really is a good tv. Wish the processor was a but faster as things can get slow from time to time. No other complaints.

Excellent value. I have a C3 as well, and unless comparing them sise by side you would be hard pressed to know the difference picture wise. If choosing between OLED and no OLED due to price differwncd, choose this to save money but still get great picture.
