What a TV!!! What a best buy!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Perfect picture, perfect size, connected to my room-sized speaker system. The B5 is the first OLED, and it is amazing -- for the definition, the color depth, the black rendering. I get a view of repeats of shows I saw before and they jumped off the screen now with their quality. Another plus was much less power consumption than the one I replaced. It is over my fireplace (with a big mantle to protect), so I could not do a gigundo size -- it fits subtly into the room without overpowering -- but entertaining! I used the Geeksquad installation (of course) with the Best Buy Full Motion TV Wall Mount for 47–84" TV. They were able to pull my existing cables through the wall with the new HDMI 2.1 cable to handle the increased resolution. Super tech squad, quick, effective work -- made it look as though the house had been built around it. But I buy everything I can from my local Best Buy -- I get to see and touch the product, get great advice from the floor sales/tech squad, and have often gotten the "equal the best price" guarantee. I have no clue where they find their team of such tech-savvy, honest, personable folks.

LG OLED TV
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great TV for the price. It is the base level OLED TV for LG. I love everything about this TV with one exception. The remote doesn't have a number keypad. You have pull up the keypad on the tv. If not for this, I would have given 5 stars. It isn't a deal breaker but a bit of an inconvenience.

LG B5 48 inch
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great TV especially for the price. I would consider this an entry level OLED tv but rest assured it’s still wonderful. It was upgrade for my mother’s bedroom. I wanted a 48inch OLED that wouldn’t cost $1000+ and this hit every check mark. She loved it, she mentioned the picture quality immediately. It looks good even next to her window, however know she mainly watches TV at night. Overall happy with it. I did buy a sound bar for it because I think most modern TVs speakers are not the best. Overall happy with the purchase.

Fine image quality, don't use LG OS
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.+ Value for image quality - Remote - no mute button (have to hear those ads), middle/scroll button rarely does what you want it to - Laggy OS, clicking into the app you actually want often doesn't work Don't use LG's OS, recommend getting a third party stick/device with a separate remote.

Picture great, remote is too frustrating.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picture is fine. I have 4 very annoying issues with this. 1. Every time it turns on and I go to an app. a pop comes up about asking me if I want to activate Alexa. I have to close it. If I haven’t opted to use Alexa in 50 times, why do you keep stopping my TV control until I close the pop-up? 2. The remote has a virtual cursor to control the screen. I have to keep the remote still until the cursor disappears before most of the remote works. I have to wait for it to vanish before I can select an app. Sometimes I click the button to select what the cursor is highlighting 30 or so times. Then I keep the remote still until the cursor disappears. 3. There is no mute. It says it will go to 0 volume if you hold the vol. down button for 2 seconds, it does. Great, but when turning the volume back you have to raise the volume and manually. It doesn’t jump back where you had it like a mute button would so you have to play with the volume every time you turn it back up after muting it. A mute button would have been much better. 4. The apps seem to load slowly. We use our DTV streaming box and the remote that came with the box. The LG TV remote is frustrating. If I didn’t have a DTV box attached I would have probably returned the TV.

Posted .Hi Vulk, thank you for laying out your experience with the LG TV. It’s clear you’ve been running into several interruptions and usability issues, and your breakdown really helps highlight what’s getting in the way of smooth day‑to‑day use.
The Alexa prompt, cursor behavior, and remote functions can all be adjusted through settings, and many customers find the TV much easier to navigate once those features are customized. This guide may help you explore options for pointer control and remote settings:

Great picture, great value, terrible remote
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The price/performance of this TV is great. The setup is a little kooky, and the LG login is a bit odd. The remote is a killer. Something about the pointer and thumbwheel on what could be a simple 'OK' button is a real frustrating, idiotic drag. In my case, I ended up buying a replacement remote that did work with the TV and did not have the thumbwheel or pointer. It would be better if the pointer and thumbwheel could be disabled allowing a simple 'OK' button.

love the tv hate the controller
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this TV — the picture is incredibly crisp and clear. My only real complaint is the controller, which is honestly pretty bad for a TV at this price point. I like the idea of the mouse function, but the controller itself could be way better. I previously had a Samsung, and its remote was miles ahead: compact, USB-C rechargeable, and well designed. This TV’s controller feels bulky, cheap, and outdated. The mouse feature constantly activates on its own, and the fact that it can’t be disabled is extremely frustrating. It drives me nuts and really takes away from an otherwise great TV.

My retinas have never been happier.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is so bright and clear I’m worried it’s going to start telling me the secrets of the universe during the local news. I watched a nature documentary and a lion looked at me with such clarity that I apologized for eating chips on the couch. Buy it if you want your eyeballs to feel like they’re at a spa.
