Good value. Not exactly cheap (even Open Box).
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this open box / excellent condition. FedEx delivered the TV on time. It came like new. As for the TV itself, I couldn't go larger than 48 inches for my studio apartment wall. For this size, I think LG C5 OLED is one of the best TVs out there. Major upgrade from my 2013 43" Insignia 1080p LED. The C5 is very bright, vivid, clear and detailed. The remote takes some getting used to. Sound is mid. I have thin walls where I live, so I often use headphones for full immersion.

No Customer Service
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Instructions were not easy and then I could not figure out what to do as I could do nothing it was frozen…..and since I bought the extra insurance I called Best Buy and I had the tv for only one day…. It would be a week seven days before they could come out, WHAT??? Apparently they received a contract with McDonald’s so it was taking longer than normal. I guess the little people do not count. Or I could bring it in myself and get a new tv? Again I had only had the tv ONE DAY. Not go customer service AT ALL! I unplugged it and it rebooted. Too bad customer service did not think of that. So the tv works but Best Buy does not.

LG OLED still the best
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is our second LG OLED. This one in a room that gets very bright with sunlight in the late afternoon. Picture is still very bright and vibrant from all viewing angles. Our old S____ng was hard to see in the bright light and you had to be directly in front at all time. Great purchase decision.

Best TV for the value
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I typically buy Sony TVs for their picture quality the only problem they want an additional $400 for a TV with just as good picture as a 48 inch C5. First LG product I ever bought more than happy with the high black levels, bright color and sharpness better than my Sony Oled.

Absolutely FANTASTIC
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The LG OLED C5 is amazing. Clarity of pic amazing. I am 77 years old, so getting a TV that is easy to use was a necessity. The LG fits that bill exactly with easy to use controls, easy to use channel guide and easy to connect to streaming apps. I highly recommend this tv for anyone.

Best TV Purchase I have ever made
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a big movie watcher and a gamer, but I tended to buy lower end TVs. I wanted to change that and decided to look at OLED options. I narrowed it down ultimately to the LG C series or the Sony Bravias. Ultimately everything I researched told me the C was the superior option. Picked one up on a great price and it blew me away so much I went back and bought another one three days later for the bedroom. Great TV all around. Sound is serviceable without a soundbar or home theater, its fine for now but I may get a soundbar in the future. The picture quality is amazing and there are a ton of options to calibrate to get it exactly where you want to be. Out of the box it looks good, but with different devices (and content) you will want to tweak your settings to get the most out of your TV. Highly recommend the C5 series.

48in LG Review
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV has turned out to be everything I wanted and more. The picture is vibrant, the border is very thin, and the stand is sturdy. There is plenty of customization for adjusting your picture, brightness, sound etc. Additionally, having the higher refresh rate for gaming has been fantastic too as long as you aren't into the more competitive FPS as you'd be aiming for a higher refresh rate than what this offers. The TV speakers do leave a bit to be desired, but it does come with an HDMI eARC port for your sound system, which I chose to do. I don't know if I'd recommend using the option to connect it to the internet either as I don't have any interest for LGs apps or their own channels. Beyond those two cons for me personally, I still am very happy with the purchase and quality of the TV overall.

Excellent TV once you disable all the ads
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup could have been simpler. I've owned many smart TVs from Sony and Samsung. This was the first time I switched one on and was completely bewildered. "Now what ? How do I watch something ?" Screen filled with - ADS ! I turned to trusty Google and learned how to disable all that annoying adware, and get down to using my TV as - A TV ! Once I got past all that, the picture quality is impressive. It almost rivals my Sony Bravia MiniLED although it does lack some of the fine detail on that more expensive set. I use mostly the "standard" or "Filmmaker" picture settings. Vivid is a tad too bright and tends to bloom out the detail. Filmmaker is good for some things although the colors are a tad too warm and lean towards "everything looks brown". Sharpness and color are great on Standard setting most of the time. I wish the HDMI ports automatically switched when you power up external devices, but you have to choose manually using the goofy point-and-shoot remote. In short, the user interface needs a LOT of work, but the picture quality is quite excellent overall.

LG C5 48” Oled
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Haven’t used this tv enough to form an opinion either way for now. One thing I will say is the remote leaves much to be desired with the stupid cursor that pops up when you don’t want it. Picture quality is good. Sound quality is ok . I expected a little more.

||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent color and viewing angle. My only issue at the moment is that it doesn’t seem to auto turn on like it is supposed to when the devices signal it or turns off. but otherwise very nice

Lousy Remote
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TV itself is fine. I'm not sure it's worth the $1000 we paid for it, but the picture quality is good, finetuning the color adjustment is cumbersome, the brightness is sufficient for bright rooms. I can't speak to the sound because we have an AV receiver and stand-alone speakers. The screen is very reflective which is annoying. The "Magic Remote" is absolutely awful. It's one of those with the cursor that displays on the TV. The cursor sometimes lags behind hand movements. There is no number keypad on the remote, so to change channels you either have to go through the guide (pain in the neck with a gazillion channels) or press a key on the remote to display a number pad on the TV screen and select the numbers with the cursor. If the cursor lags before you select all three or four numbers, the TV changes to a channel not intended. Start again...and again...and again...forget it, find the cable remote! We would have returned the TV if we were still within the return window because of the lousy remote. We thought we'd get used it. After 4 weeks, we *hate* the remote.

Excellent OLED TV
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture quality of this TV is phenomenal. The fact that it is WIFI capable is a huge plus. But a major complaint is that the TV did not provide a operating manual. Instead, it gave a link to be able to download the manual. The downloaded manual gave OK installation instructions but was a total zero on operating instructions.

Good tv
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice TV. 48” was just big enough for my space. Stacked a few discounts and got it for a great price. I was going back and forth between this and Samsung but QD oled would look less black with the lights on, im used to webOS already, and LG display is the only company making 48” panels anyway. My main use case is playing video games on it. Mostly old stuff through an upscaler and CRT emulator. It looks great for that stuff and unlike a real CRT I could carry it upstairs by myself and I can still watch modern content when I want. The only gripe I have is that the sleek new remote doesnt have an input button. You can add the inputs to the app row on the home screen but its a bit clunky.

48" OLED Evo c5
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.48" OLED Evo c5 - Replaced my 16 y. o. 47" LG LED TV. This new TV is really nice. Beautiful picture. Sound is much better than my previous TV. I needed something with a center mount (vs. legs), this one works perfectly. The remote takes some getting used to but works well. Hoping I get many good years out of this set like I got from my previous one.

Great TV, and worth every penny!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We got this, not realizing what a difference from older LED screens it would be! Crisp blacks, sharp whites, and basically glare-free, even though it is near a window. Also, really good sound - better bass than any tv i've had. I would recommend this to anyone.

Excellent TV bad remote.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced a C1 with this C5. While the differences are subtle. Picture is definitely brighter and clearer. The setup allows you to make picture adjustments that make it stunning. The remote is a BIG disappointment. I hate commercials and want to mute them. In order to mute the sound you have to hold the sound button down for 2 seconds. Which also reduces the sound level to zero. When the show comes back on, you have to push the sound button up to get the sound back and play with it to get to the level you want. BRING BACK THE MUTE BUTTON! Also I have not figure out the HDMI input, that used to be a button on the remote. There are some quirks that are annoying. Like when it sees a change to the Universal remote (Apple TV) it pops up a window to input a code to accept the changes. Sometimes code window does not come up. As a Technician, I look at this as to how much aggravation it might cause to someone not that technical. My advice if you are not on the technical side is to have a Best Buy tech set everything up so you are good to go. I highly recommend this TV!
