Great TV for a great price!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this TV for about a week so far, and I love it. The picture is crisp and bright, and has 3 HDMI inputs for my gaming devices as well as my Set Top Box. There is also an optical audio port that we use to feed our surround sound. With a lack of actual 4k content out, what little footage I have seen through YouTube and Netflix streaming (built-in apps) really feels like looking through a window. Where this TV really shines is the HDR, which makes colors extremely bright and dynamic. I have cable TV through DIRECTV, and the STB we have does not support 4k; however, there is still a noticeable difference in image quality. My non-4k supporting gaming devices also look fantastic on the display. A few negative notes, however, are somewhat strange. My Playstation 4 is supposed to support HDR, but when I got to turn the setting on, the console says my television does not support HDR. There is also an odd interaction when viewing animation on the TV, where there is this kind of blurring effect when swift motions are being made. I've noticed this both from my STB (Futurama and Archer, for example) as well as YouTube (Rick and Morty clips, etc). To me, the effect is extremely jarring and somewhat painful. My girlfriend has also stated while watching Netflix (Iron Fist, supports HDR but not 4k), when the camera shakes during action scenes, she becomes queasy. She says it may be because the display looks so life-like, her brain is trying to compensate for the motion. I do not personally have that same experience.

Quality Screen/Quality Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The term "budget" gets thrown alot with this screen, but I feel it insinuates that the screen has shortcomings to justify it's reduced price. Well, as far as I can see with my own eyes, this is not the case. Is it a $2000 curved OLED HDR ready 60 inch screen? No, it's not. It's a working persons TV, and it does a fine job at that! Rich colors, impecable quality, and I seriously adore the size and design. That being said, don't rely on the smart functions too much. They're buggy, and using your phone as a remote is kinda lame. Plan on purchasing a remote for it, but that's neither here nor there. If you want a QUALITY 4K television and don't fancy buying the ultra premium, multi thousand dollar screens, this is your TV!

Thrilled
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got the 49UH6030 because I was in market for an upgrade and didn't want to spend more than $500. I was browsing a bunch of older 1080p when I was told in stock (but not on display) was a 4K LG 49 incher for $399. Being told I could return for full price within 2 months, I said why not. Not only do I find the TV good - it's been absolutely awesome. Very sleek, 3 HDMI ports, loud clear speakers, an incredibly easy Smart TV system, and great picture quality. So long as this thing gives me a run of a few years with no issues, best TV for the money one could buy!

Great buy!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Since this tv model is new and there wasn't much information on it, it was hard to do my research before purchasing it. However, just by looking at the specs and the price, I was sold. What a great tv! Super sharp image, blacks look fine, sound is way better than I expected, and the smart interface works great. I definitely recommend this tv. For only $399, it's a steal!

4K a bit early?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't think the input technology for broadcast TV does this TV justice. I may have just gotten a lemon but the color on this TV was off. Anyone with blonde or grey hair had a yellow/green hue around their head. When watching golf the golf clubs and the flag staff had a haze around them. Also, when golfers took a swing the club often disappeared. I played with the settings after googling similar issues but nothing helped. The sound quality was great but I opted to return this unit and got a 1080P Smart TV instead, another brand.

Great purchase
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Viewing TV via regular HD signal and picture is just amazing. Stunning picture, would be hard to go back to just a 1080 picture. The upscaling feature enhances the color on old TV programs beyond belief. The description states silver but it is black.

Excellent picture, inferior over the air tuner
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV has an excellent picture but the internal tuner only picks up about half of the OTR channels the Samsung TV it replaced did. If you are not going to use this for OTR then I would recommend it. If you are using it for OTR then try something else.

Cloudy blacks
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First and foremost on black screen there is light bleed through and light glow. View angle is horrible. Trumotion looks nice but not in fast moving scenes. The picture in 4K on brightly lit scene look fantastic but in dark scenes this tv fails hard.

Not good for Sports uneven blacks
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First thing I noticed is that TV had major cloudiness on left side and light bleed noticedable in blacks. The other draw back was TruMotion for Sports is terrible. Football with sports setting on while watching PSVUE from a PS4 it actually looks worse. Big pixelization around fast moving body motion and legs. Its better with TruMotion off but not anywhere as good as my 1080 vizio

Shattered screen, poor customer service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this tv the day before Thanksgiving. It wasn't even on the floor so they had to check the computer to see if it was in stock. After I bought it, got it home and got it setup I turned it on and found that the screen was shattered. I called the store and they said that "they have a few left in stock". I took it back and when I asked to exchange it they told me that they were completely sold out, this was only 20 minutes later. Even though they never came right out and said it, the customer service desk acted like it may have been my fault that it was broken. I did get my money back but they had to call the store manager to get the money. That took another 20 minutes. This was the worst experience that I have EVER had buying a simple tv.

Cannot download user agreement
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV on black Friday and when I tried to set it up, I could not download the users agreement which will not let you use any app or web search which makes your smart TV not smart at all. I called LG and they said it was a software problem and that I should return it and get a new one.
