Customers are saying
Customers regard the picture quality and ease of use as top features of the 49" Class (48.7" Diag.) - LED - 2160p - Smart - 4K Ultra HD TV. Many appreciate the 4K resolution and find the price reasonable for the quality offered. However, some users have noted that the remote control could be improved, and a few have mentioned concerns about motion blur and refresh rate, particularly when watching fast-paced content.

Picture not 4K quality
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was greatly disappointed. I have a 2 year old Sony 1080 with a better picture than I got on this TV. I returned the tv after 4 days and also got charged a restocking fee.

A great first step into the 4K/HDR realm
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My previous TV just yesterday was an LG 42" plasma TV that I bought in 2006, so I decided to continue the LG trend by getting this model. This is my first step into the 1080p/4K/HDR world, and this TV greets me with a warm welcome into that realm. It really shows me within seconds as to what I have been missing. I was looking online and in stores for some good deals. Originally I was going to aim for the Toshiba 49" 49L621U but I wasn't really looking forward to a possible long line at Best Buy for it. Even if it was for $200 during their doorbuster for Black Friday. While at the store on Wednesday, I was looking at options and noticed that this model was on sale for $399. That's $100 less than the advertised price on BB's website. I really wanted a TV that I could have for at least the next decade and not every 2-3 years. It's hard to find TV's in this quality for the price range I also wanted to make sure that whatever TV I purchased has things like the 4K option/HDR support in order to future proof myself. I am also a gamer off and on, so these options were also dealbreakers for me. Some cons of mine but it depends on your preference and set up. The menus are a little tricky to maneuver through such as editing the TV's resolution, color, etc. Which is somewhat hidden in the picture mode menus. Once you get the hang of it's menu features though, it's great. My other gripe right now is the stand. If you have a home theater system and/or center speakers higher than 3-5" they may block the bottom of the screen which can cause issues reading subtitles and any other types of logos that may appear on the bottom right or left of the screen. It was also hard for the TV to respond to the remote because of those objects blocking the TV. So I ended up going to Home Depot and got some pieces of wood to help elevate the legs. Now those annoyances are no longer there. Right now, TV stations' resolutions for shows max out at 1080i or 720p, so this TV really shines through the best if you're playing games on the Playstation 4 and possibly the Xbox One. Little by little, games are getting patched for HDR support, so even on the standard PS4, some of the games really look fantastic like "Uncharted 4" and "Final Fantasy XV". Curious to see how games evolve over the next couple of months with those kinds of support options, including on the PS4 Pro. In my opinion, this is one of the best TV's right now with a complete package for a very reasonable budget if you manage to get this on sale during Black Friday weekend. Overall I am happy with this product.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received a damaged TV, have been trying to exchange but NO ONE (although we've talked to 8+ people) has been able to help me. Went to the store TWICE. Many hours invested at this point. Was supposed to receive a call from a manager today but, of course, no one called. Left on hold multiple times and got disconnected. Couldn't have dreamed up a worse experience with customer service. Oh, and when the TV came it didn't even have a power cord in the box.

Not a good purchase
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally went looking for a Samsung tv, but when I got there one of the best buy workers suggested I get this one. I was skeptical but bought anyway. After 4 days there was a white cast showing under the tv. Long story short I returned it and got the samsung.

Damaged
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this tv with high hopes only to be disappointed by the fact that it was damaged. It had three huge dots on one third of each screen. The guys at Best Buy were great and took it back. I ended up buying a 50 inch Samsung 4K and was much happier.

Amazing quality from LG! Definitely worth it!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I actually bought the Hisense 50-inch 4K TV first from Best Buy, and although it had good quality and sound it looked like it was crisp enough. Also, the viewing angles were HORRIBLE. If you're planning on buying the Hisense 4K from Best Buy, save a little more and buy this LG 4k TV instead! Definitely worth the extra money. The picture quality is outstanding. The bonus is it also has HDR (High Dynamic Range). Since this has an IPS panel, the viewing angles are great! The sound is one of the best I've heard from a 4K TV. Very loud and crisp. I have to say that LG is one of the best TV manufacturers in the game today. Plenty of HDMI ports (3) for your Blu-Ray player, Cable/Satellite box, or even gaming console. I highly recommend this 4K TV. I might be inclined to buy another one because it's so good.

Great new TV from LG
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a new model for 2016. The picture looks good and the sound is surprisingly decent for TV speakers. We have this in our master bedroom and it serves that purpose very well. It's not a high budget TV, but seems to be an exceptional bargain at the mid to entry level price point.

Great picture, great value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This big screen HD TV by LG has an excellent and precise picture quality and is easy to set up. It also is a great value because it cost less than comparable models by Sony and Samsung. We're very satisfied with this LG flat-screen TV.

No HBOGO
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought a 4K 49" LG tv should have an app for HBGO but it does not, I will have to buy chrome cast to access HBGO, this is too lame.

Great picture/lots of smart tv apps
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great tv for the dollar. Im just going to focus on the small things that I found disappointing since the picture itself is 4k ult hd. Not many hd mi ports but a simple hdmi switch can fix that. Last lg tv had a swivel center mounted stand instead of the 2 left and right mounted stand which makes so that you cant turn the tv if you want to but at the same time offers more stability it seems. There was a head phone jack in the back of my previous lg that combined with a 12' 3.5 mm extension cable and headset made watching movies late at night more enjoyable since i didnt have to keep adjusting the volume for quiet dialogue / loud music and action scenes (dont want to wake sleeping baby) Other than that great tv zero buyers remorse.

Perfect tv!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've always been skeptical about buying new tv's but researched online a bit and knew I wanted a 4K smart tv. I was deciding between Vizio, Samsung, or LG. Went to Best Buy, the associate led me right to this one. Told me if he were buying one he would buy this one. Did not steer me wrong! Does not freeze up, the built in apps work smoothly, the picture quality, color, and detail are SUPERB! With different viewing modes available in settings. The sound quality is okay, better with a sound bar but perfect for my small apartment living room. Super easy setup, VERY user friendly to learn! Absolutely love this tv!

This TV is great, but not quite a Sony
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this TV. The picture is great, the sound is solid for being a TV speaker, the interfaces are easy to navigate and setup was simple! The upscaling is solid, though I have yet to fully test it. I get my new Xbox One S tomorrow and I'm really excited to see these 2 cranking out content together! With the above being said, the only reason this TV gets a 4 is because it's not quite up to the Sony XBR49800D. That TV is breath taking for the same size. However, it's also $300 more! Another thing of note, this TV has HDR10 (aka HDR Pro) on it, but it's not mentioned here anywhere. Just a nice addition to an already great value!
