The tv is fair. the picture is just ok. I can't get the "smart" feature to wrk at all. My internet works just fine on my computer and kindle but it never seems to work at all on the tv. It appears that I wasted my money buying the tv.

I have always been a Samsung guy when it comes to TV"S. I followed the recommendation of a good friend that swears by LG so I tried it. I purchased the TV and got home and set it up. It looked great until I moved it slightly to center it on my entertainment center and a huge pixel band showed up across it. I tapped it on the side and it disappeared. I tapped it again and it appeared again. Needless to say I will return it this week and buy a Samsung. Experiment over.

Hi Jonny, that's unfortunate you had to experience a pixel being displayed across your screen before initially using it. Happy you were able to provide a review to alert us this issue. After 17 months this LG 49" LED, Smart 4K UHD TV with HDR developed a dark, shaded area across the top 25% of the screen display (5 months after warranty expired) and I had to purchase a new TV. I purchased four LED Smart 4K UHD TV's from Best Buy from Nov 2018 to Nov 2019 (for two houses) but will most likely select another supplier going forward given the poor quality of this purchase.

Make the worst purchase, buy this television in December 2018, the TV failed in November 2019 (does not play signal, only audio), it has been a month that I have an open ticket with LG, and it is time that I did not solve the problem . I never buy something again with LG, its customer service is pity.

We were told at the store that the 4K would not make much difference to us since we did not already have 4K HD on our old TV and it would show a good picture. WELL IT DID NOT SHOW A GOOD PICTURE!!!

    Great TV for the price

Great price for the TV. Overall picture quality is great, navigation of system is good. I noticed some reviews are saying the HDMI ports do not work or stop working. When you first plug in a device to a port it does not activate the port. We thought that plugging in our fire stick would activate the port. NO! You have to go to the remote, click on the plug in icon, highlight the port you plug in the device, and click on that port from the remote control. That activates the port. We were getting before activation a good picture but not great. Once we activated the port the brilliant colors came through! Do not make the same mistake thinking that the problem is a faulty HDMI port. Most of the time ii is probably not activating the port! Overall, a great TV for the money. No complaints.

I bought 4 of these for work. then after opening them I ended up buying 2 more for myself. I have seen other reviews on here talking about the image quality on these monitors however I have not seen an issue with them. I am absolutely sure that I could have spent 2x - 3x the money and gotten a better picture but for the money that I spent on these TVs I couldn't be happier

    Easy Setup, Poor Performance

Bought this TV over Black Friday, the initial setup of the TV was really easy and the walkthrough was helpful and straightforward. Navigation of the menus was simple and everything was able to be found without hassle. After that I had nothing but issues with the TV, Hulu would stream fine in perfect quality, but going straight then to Netflix, there would be a blurry picture. My internet was not the issue, seemed to be the apps or some firmware in the TV. The poor 60Hz refresh rate made it impossible to watch fast moving scenes and sports, everything in those scenes was blurry and difficult to sit through. Along with this, 2 weeks after purchasing there was a dead pixel in the top left corner. Promptly returned this for a Samsung and have had no problems so far.

    Disappointed in LG

I have had my eyes on an LG TV for some time, coming from a Hisense H8C. I was excited to see the price drop to about $300 on this TV and snatched it up. Boy did I hate it and returned it the next day. Its not a BAD television, but to me it was not even worth $300. I've seen better pictures on 1080p screens. First off, there is no way to adjust frame rate or colors. You are stuck with TruMotion 120 and LG's oversaturated tones. HDR effects turned skin colors RED - seemed more of a saturation change than true HDR effects. The forced refresh/frame rates caused the "soap opera effect" as well as jittery frames. Maybe a more pedestrian viewer would not notice this, but it was always extremely distracting. The only way I could seemingly remove this was to put it in a non HDR, energy saving or game mode which defeated the whole purpose of the purchase. I will gladly go back to my H8C - which LG makes the panels for. Its customization features are top notch. And whereas it might not be the most amazing software, it beat the heck out of this TV. Also, why on earth would the same model have a size one inch bigger?!

I wanted to replace my 12 year old reliable, Sony 32” with a larger 4K Smart LED TV. I have watched the prices drop over the years, but had not shopped seriously. I was drawn to this LG by its low sales price, wondering if you could really buy a decent 4K smart TV for such a low price. But I know LG does make some good products. The TV was not on display at Best Buy, so I could not see the picture in the store, but that isn’t the best way to evaluate a TV anyway. I took it home and set it up. After fiddling with the controls - picture, brightness, color, tint, brightnessr, contrast - for about three hours, I had to conclude there was no way to get a picture that I considered passable, a shame because everything else about the TV was fine. The colors were always a bit off, faces had a sort of washed out appearance, lacking in detail, and when a solid color was displayed on the screen, slightly dimmer bands about 3” wide were noticeable on the sides of the screen. This TV made me join Consumer Reports. After checking their reviews, I bit the bullet and spent almost twice as much ($600) for a 49” Samsung NU8000. I am completely happy with that TV. Get what you pay for? Ironically $600 is what I recall paying for my Sony 32” about 12 years ago.....
