However, I am unable to control the volume with my remote. There are times when I have to turn off the TV and turn it back on in order for it to work.

Excellent Open Box Condition YEAH RIGHT!

I planned on running a HDMI cable through the wall and purchased the appropriate length separately. I want to unpack the supposedly excellent condition set up and took an inventory. No remote two of the three required power cables. The sound bar grill has a huge dent in it and all of the speakers are scratched. It is unusable. I am returning it. Hey Best Buy!!! Do better!!! I would not even rate this as fair condition. Geek squad certified… yeah ok! It’s going back and I would like compensation for my trouble.

Too expensive for the sound quality

Very hard to set up. The surround is nice when you figure out how to adjust, but the system isn't powerful enough to give good bass and sound without sound distortion. It's like the speakers can't handle it being too loud. If your an audiophile, invest in a more powerful and feature rich system. I would not recommend this at all. Poor quality sound. Up firing speaker does not have a standard front speaker also. Sounds tinny. You get what you pay for. Stick with their premium brand or any other mid range brand to avoid distortion. This should be 199 considering the sound and lack of features.

Great for small room close to tv viewing only.

Fatiguing sound, annoying modes, fake center chnl.

If you do not constantly adjust it, you lose the commentary/center channel. Switching between sports and movies is awful, really highlights the flaw in this height/center channel. I could not stand the sound from this soundbar as it fatigued my ears.

If you're finding the bass a bit weak, a simple tip is to switch the Sound Effect mode to either Bass Blast or Cinema using the remote. Those modes really amp up the low-frequency output. The cons is you can’t adjust the sound levels to your preference. It only allows you to select form their options I.e. standard, cinema, music, game. For the cost of this system, I expext much more. My Vizio is a far superior sound system. I will be retuning this system because I cant justify the cost for the lack of features. If you want basic this will be great for you.

Very Very Weak Subwoofer!!!

Even at max settings, the subwoofer performance is lukewarm. I was not expecting it to compete with my Sonos Arc system. However, my Vizio M51ax-J6 has a far better subwoofer performance; This LG system should at least be on par with that and maybe slightly better. For $400, this is unacceptable. I will return this soundbar.

I have bought open box before in store, with no issue. This was like I got sent somthing that wasnt even looked at before shipping it to me. When i returned it the gentleman behind the counter said they have had a lot of issues with online open boxes being returned for the same reason. I have no review on the product as it did not work, but I definitely don’t recommend buying open box online.
