Not a big fan of this

I ended up returning and for the same price bought a difinitive technology soundbar and the quality is as good as bose and holy crap is it loud and crystal clear like a movie theatre.

Not what I expected

Overpriced Huge Monster

This unit, while appealing on the spec sheet, disappoints in real life. You need to pair it with the additional rear speakers to have any surround effects, and tuning options are limited to an app that sometimes works. There aren't enough pass-through HDMI connections to justify the price either.

One word....WOW!

I have kids in the house and it’s hard to make man cave loud when you have little daughters. Never the less what I’ve experienced (and I say experienced because you hear it and feel it) is quite remarkable. If I was able to give it another star I would. I thought I had a good sound bar at home, and the Samsung model I have it great. But this sound bar is the difference between having an HDTV then upgrading to a 4K TV. When I did that it was like watching TV for the first time again. It’s that dramatic. The highs are sharp and crisp and the bass is deep and you can literally feel it. It’s awesome. So before I hooked it to my TV, I tried some of the Apps and played some music via Bluetooth. Just awesome. I like iHeart radio because I can get most of the radio stations I like as streaming music. Then of course with Bluetooth I can listen to my own music. So I waited until I was alone and at an hour when I would not receive a noise complaint and gave it a shot on higher volume. There was non distortion even then I turned it up to levels that started to be uncomfortably loud. Just amazing. It was easy to set up and the instructions are very intuitive. Next I tried it on my TV. I have a 65” 4K that it hooked up to, which for a TV had decent sound. When I added my Samsung sound bar it was much better. But with the LG it’s insane. I tried a movie first, as they tend to produce a more quality cinematic sound. Pure quality. This literally provides you with a legit home theater. So after that I tried playing some video games. Well to be honest, I let my son play his games. Again, it was impressive and I did not experience any delays of any kind. Usually the way things look are the least important part of these devices. They are speakers after all and they are usually all black rectangles of varying degrees and sizes. This is a bit different and you can see that in the pictures a little. Maybe on the box or display model if you see it at Best Buy. I have it say I like the rounded edges on the bar, it’s slightly different than others I see at the store and I just think it looks sleek. Like you expect it to be awesome based on how it looks, if that makes any sense. Bottom line. This thing is just what I said it was at the start. It’s an experience. It’s one you need to try and see for yourself. If they have it set up at Best Buy, try it and you will see. If not, trust the people actually reviewing this system and make yourself an educated consumer. If you do so, you will walk out of the store with this in your cart! Bring a friend though, the box is heavy and long!

Junk. Expensive junk

Returned it and purchased Sony. Best decision I made. Don’t waste your money unless you like crappy sound and interface. Absolutely hated it. Pass thru worked terribly as well.

Soundbar

Disappointing

Didn’t work for me.

Last year I purchased the SJ9 Lg Atmos bar and had the exact same problem. I have a Samsung TV so maybe the LG sound bars just don’t play nice with the Samsung’s. In between I purchased the 750 Samsung sound bar and have had no problem with it, didn’t get the Samsung Atmos bar because unfortunately it doesn’t pass HDR.

Delivers Amazing Sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wouldn't consider myself an audiophile, just someone who likes an all-around great entertainment experience. As far as sound, I'm now getting that with the LG S10KY. Its 5.1.2, along with Dolby Atmos technology, comes through solid, with rich sounds all around me. With my time trying out the SK10Y sound bar, I've had a great experience (not-so-great connection experience, but that's not the sound bar's fault). I've had wired 5.1-channel surround sound in the past, and have 7.1-channel virtual surround sound via a headset. Before setting up the SK10Y, I had a 2.1-channel sound bar. Compared to these, the SK10Y delivers much more of a theater sound experience. For a sound bar, it's good. I have it connected to my LG UF8600, which cannot transmit Dolby Atmos and is in need of an upgrade, and I regularly use a 4K blu-ray player and PS4. The SK10Y looks sleek is fits perfectly on my TV stand. A simple wall mount is included in the box if you prefer that. It sports a low-profile LCD display on the front, letting you know your current input source at all times. It does dim when there is no input from a remote, but it would be nice to have it turn off entirely. Connections include two HDMI 4K pass-throughs, one HDMI ARC output, optical, and 3.5mm. I want to mention now that anyone with this sound bar should download the LG Wi-Fi Speaker app and connect their sound bar to their Wi-Fi. This app is tons better than the small remote that comes with the sound bar. It does everything the remote does and more—I promise. The SK10Y's two upfiring speakers bring in even more immersion than before. My ceiling is high, but sound still comes at me perfectly. I'm not currently able to equip the optional rear speakers, but the virtual surround from the sound bar comes through just fine. Compared to my previous LG 2.1-channel sound bar, the wireless sub-woofer on this is slightly bulkier, but what it takes in space it makes up for in power. It looks nice, too. It does sometimes cut out, but I suspect it's due to where I have my internet modem is placed, causing interference between the soundbar and the sub-woofer. Lossless sound on a UHD blu-ray disc is spectacular, especially when it supports Dolby Atmos. I've tested a few different discs, all supporting various formats. The sound bar plays DTS format, but it didn't seem as good as Dolby Digital Plus or TrueHD. Side note: if any Dolby sound is coming through the sound bar, save for Atmos, it will only display as Dolby Audio. It's a bit disappointing when I'd like to know what exactly is coming through the sound bar. It'd be even better to see it display sampling rates. As many consumers are reporting, sounds coming through the center speaker on streaming services, typically dialogue, often do sound muffled, and I imagine it has to do with the compression of the audio on these services. It's little excuse, however, for there to be no control over the center speaker as there is with the others. I've found that until the center speaker can be controlled in an update (hopefully), setting the sound effect mode to Movie expands the sounds so that you can hear clearer dialogue as well as everything else. I'm very happy with the SK10Y. There may be some who don't like it, but for a sound bar, I feel it outputs rich and heavy sound. The fidelity with lossless audio played in Dolby Atmos is stunning. I'd highly recommend it for anyone searching for a better experience than what they already have without all the cables.

Poor Sound

Marking implies it has google assistant, but that's not true either, you can control volume on it with google home and also cast to it, but that's all.
