It is a good sound bar, can get very loud while watching movies/shows. Only problem I have which seems to happen often is it will not connect to my TV so I have to unplug and plug back in to make it work

Amazing Sound and Bass!

I fell in love with this soundbar! The sound is incredible! The bass that comes out of the subwoofer is amazing as well! With this surround sound setup, I feel completely immersed in a movies environment when watching action, suspense, thrillers, etc. It’s so good that sometimes, the sounds from the back speakers seem like they’re coming from my own environment. I also connect it to my phone via Bluetooth and listen to music. Music sounds amazing. You can use the LG ThinQ app to access the devices settings and adjust the volume, bass and treble. You can change the volume of the soundbar, subwoofer and back speakers individually. There are many different “Sound Effects” settings, such as Standard, Cinema, Sports, Music, Games, Music, Bass Blast, AI Sound Pro and Clear Voice Pro. I prefer the app over the remote control. I can use my TV remote if I just want to to change the volume. The LED display is clear and legible. It was very easy to set up. I do find it weird that you have to plug in the speakers in a specific order (I think it goes soundbar, subwoofer, then rear), but thats not a big deal. I got this on sale, but even at full cost, it’s worth the money!

Sounds great with clear dialogue and immersive surround effect. Subwoofer adds depth without overpowering the room. It’s not extremely loud, but sound quality is very good for normal living spaces.

This is my first 5.1 system, so I have nothing to compare to other than my 2.0 soundbars. I was interested in the Vizio 5.1 system because it was offered at a lower price and has Dolby Atmos. But, that system does not come with a remote and is controlled through a phone app. I like to have a remote with soundbars for quick changes if necessary, so I went with this LG S60TR system.
I am mainly writing this review to draw attention to a couple of items for other customers to consider while evaluating this product. I have noticed some reviews calling out the limitations of the Simple Manual. Simple Manuals like this are just quick start guides and do not say anything about the full capabilities. I strongly recommend for LG to consider the following in the Simple Manual, under Installing and Using the Product: There is a sentence that reads "To view the instructions of advanced features, visit...." LG is REALLY selling themselves short and misleading the customer here. The "advanced" features are actually very important fundamental features to understand and use if the customer is to truly get a 5.1 system operating. If the customer simply takes the product out of the box and assembles and sets it up per what is in the Simple Manual, they will end up with nothing more than what sounds like a 2.0 system or even worse given the defaults that run (for example, Surround Sound is OFF by default). So, the wording should not be "advanced" features, but rather should say something like "To view the instructions covering the full capabilities and to optimize your soundbar, visit...."
A second thing I would like to mention is how the old phrase "garbage in, garbage out" applies to soundbars. So, before someone evaluates a soundbar system, they will need to consider the source of the input. If the input source does not support Surround Sound and/or has a low quality audio format, don't blame your soundbar on the output audio quality. If the source is music or a movie with a high quality audio format, then the user will want to make sure their soundbar system is set to optimize the particular input. Luckily, the S60TR system has a sound effect setting "AI SOUND PRO" that should do this automatically, but in my experience, I occasionally find another sound effect category that can make things even better.
I don't know why LG has set a default of NO Surround Sound on this system, but I think it is the first setting one should change to an ON setting. I have seen some reviews stating that the rear speakers and subwoofer are not working, but it is probably because they unknowingly have Surround Sound off.
With all this said, I am very happy with the S60TR for the price. I am one who likes to explore and experiment with all of the settings and optimize. I don't know how things would sound if this system was Dolby Atmos capable like the Vizio in the same class, but what I have certainly meets my needs. I experimented with the volume to see where distortion may creep in. Well, it never set in. I did not want to push it beyond the point where my friendly neighbors would be disturbed, so lets just say I pushed it to the realistic point. :-)

I found out that the rear speakers are wired; I could/did not see that in the description. Regardless of that, I installed it and tried to a high volume and it works fine, I liked the sound. However, I need a wireless rear speakers so I will return it.

Excellent sound quality. Easy to use and app is user friendly. Able to set sound equalizers for each separate piece i.e. subwoofer, front bar and rear speakers. Overall, highly enjoy and worth it. Sleek design, almost can't tell they are on entertainment center.

I’m impressed. The audio quality is crisp with good mids and highs, and the bass is surprisingly deep for speakers in this price range. Setup was easy, especially with Bluetooth pairing, and the build feels durable. They’re perfect for casual music listening or boosting your TV sound without breaking the bank. While audiophiles might want more advanced features, for everyday use, these speakers deliver great value.

This is a pretty good setup to get surround sound in a small to medium sized room.
Setting it up was fairly simple, but I install AV equipment for a living so I’m biased. It’s as simple as connecting everything and getting the app on your phone.
The app is okay, it would be nice to have more in depth audio tweaking options but it has enough to get by. It has presets for basic scenes; movies, games, that sort of thing. Which is nice and can be actuated through the remote instead of the app if you prefer.
Like other people have said, the rear speakers are partially wireless. There is a connection between both of them and one requires power. The signal to the soundbar from there is wireless however. If you’re cool with that, then I’d recommend the system.
I got this with the pretense if I hated it, I would return it. I was impressed and I think I’ll keep it at this point. I have it in an apartment and the sound level is totally fine for that environment. There is a night mode option if you wanted it quieter, as well as bass boost if you want it to thump.

Great surround. Using the optical cable causes you to need two remotes. By using HDMI arc you can just utilize the tv remote and the audio quality remains the same.

This system greatly upgraded the experience especially at this price point. It was very easy to set-up with HDMI Arc connections and controls can be integrated into the existing remote (Fire).
