It's OK not exceptional
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have now lived with this item for a week. Some observations. First: What is causing the top to never come clean?! It always appears smeared and greasy no matter what is used to clean it. Cannot get a nice shiny black. No matter how much it's wiped down or with what it always looks "greasy". Paint is already beginning to peel! For a range that (originally) cost us $1000 unacceptable! Also the "coating" on the burners no matter how much you try to clean they never do get clean. It's only a week old! The range top cooks well however I really question the need for that center burner. It's VERY anemic and basically useless wasted space. Another gripe is the oven vent extends so far out that only tiny pans can be used on the rear burners. Stupid at best. Forces you to put large pots on front burner(s) and if you want to cook something (say in a saute' pan) you are forced to use very small (8" maximum) and work behind a large screaming hot pot. Otherwise performance of the cooktop is acceptable. Nothing exceptional. The oven: The bakers in my house like the interior color. Jury is out on convection performance. Only so so and you set 350 and the oven only gives you 300. WTH is up with that?! Holiday cookies and a roast done non convection turned out well though. Not sure of cleaning performance as not needed yet. Bottom line it's a VERY expensive unit (even at the reduced $750 price) and IMO does not reflect a good value especially at the old price. Given how stained the burners are, paint coming off the cooktop poor design and overall performance only acceptable kinda sorry I just didn't bite the bullet and fix the old range we gave up. Overall I don't recommend this one. If it was say $350-400 maybe. But certainly not this price This should certainly NOT reflect badly on Best Buy or it's staff. They are exceptional. This is out 3rd major appliance purchase in short order and we don't even bother to shop elsewhere. When we need something it's straight to BB and nowhere else.

Do you like 1/2 cooked food, burns, LOUD music?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Then read on! (Because we don't really like those things and no one will do anything to help us return this piece of junk so we'll just help everyone by explaining why you should never EVER buy this stove.) 1. BIGGEST ISSUE: The ledge on the back where the venting is prevents you from putting anything on the burner. You literally can't push a pot back enough to have it sit over the burner because the vent sticks out at least an inch over the back burners. So you essentially can't use more than 2, maybe 3, of the 5 burners at a time - and those would all be the power burners because those are the ones in the middle and front. If you need to simmer something while cooking with more than one pot or other pan, you are out of luck. You can put a low pan on the back but then you will burn yourself reaching over larger pots in the front to get to it (trust me). If you put anything more than a few inches high on the back burners, you have to move them forward over the front of the back burner, and also move the front pans forward. So then nothing is ever directly over the burner and food doesn't cook consistently. Thanksgiving? No way that's happening, so enjoy your takeout or your in-laws (whichever is the lesser of the two holiday evils). 2. The control panel buttons are very difficult to press. Literally, you might want to eat some spinach first because it will require Popeye-like strength to even turn your oven on. 3. Once you have turned the oven on, you'll wish you hadn't. The unit plays LOUD, terrible music when the temperature is ready and when the timer goes off. Kids peacefully sleeping? Not for long... Best Buy will not do anything about it. They sell this unit, which is basically a three-power-burner stove not really useful for actual cooking, and then will not assist customers after 15 days. We'd just moved into our house, we didn't even use the thing for almost the first month. So they will refer you to LG. And then LG will not do anything about it. After explaining the issue 5 times in a row to their customer service rep, she incorrectly asked if the issue was that we were afraid the back panel was going to melt. I asked to be transferred to her supervisor, who admittedly, was helpful and understanding. But, it sounds like LG will just talk to their engineers and let them know their design sucks, which doesn't help anyone who's already purchased one of these units. Will be highly surprised if we ever hear anything back, so we are stuck with this stove and either can't ever cook more than two foods at a time or entertain in our home, or, we replace it at our own out-of-pocket cost of around $800. So, if you like half-burnt/half-raw food, obnoxious loud music that wakes up your kids, scalding you arms while reaching over hot pots, breaking your finger while turning the oven on, and then spending an hour and a half on the phone trying pointlessly to get anyone to take responsibility for poor appliance design/sales of defective products, CONGRATULATIONS. This is the stove for you.

Boight in nov 2018 already having issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having issues woth the display. Slowly but surely bars are burning out. LG has absolutly terrible customer service. All i can recommend is spening extra money on a service plan if you buy anything LG. This is my second appliance to have issues with in this period. Already had to replace the dishwasher as well. Will not be buying anything LG again!
