I got this tv on black Friday and it was the best thing I did. Coming from a 1080p tv is like night and day. The tv is so smart yet so simple. The only issue I had with it is setting up the TV with Google home. I would recommend this tv to anyone.

    Sorting Out The Bugs

This is a review after having the TV for 3 years so my review will be credible. I purchased this “opened box”. I was a bit unsure about that but while at store we made sure everything worked. Got home and the wifi kept disconnecting and had to manually reconnect almost every turn on. Make sure your OS is up to date. Don’t know why but depending on your location (i.e USA, China) it is said to also turn off Quick Start and set your time zone instead of it identifying it automatically. This seemed to have worked for a moment. The Wifi connection was getting worse showing I had no wifi when I definitely did. I dealt with this for 2.5 years. I am the type that is just grateful to have a TV. I learned through other complaints of the same thing it’s the way this was manufactured with an error how the wifi motherboard cord is folded and pinned down; that can create disruption in service or not recognize any wifi. This was my last chance before I turned the tv into BB. It was relatively easy to maneuver and straighten out the cord and tape it to stay straight (or you can call geek squad to do). I’m disappointed I had to even had to do that but it seemed to have worked. It’s been 6 months and no problems with wifi. One thing i can’t figure out is that the remote control doesn’t seem to communicate well with the tv. It goes from working and then suddenly won’t. Has been doing that since day one when i got the tv. Got to May the buttons. Also so-call recalibrate the remote by pressing many buttons for long periods. Been trying to see if I can get another one. The sound quality has diminished. I barely have my tv on louder that a low conversation. Now having to turn it up more than i use to just to hear it. Perhaps I’m just getting old haha! Otherwise the tv has different sounds for what you’re watching and surround sound option. Clear 4k quality when 4k is available and have the 4k hdmi connection. It’s not top of the line but is definitely good quality despite the hiccups.

    HDMI ports have a problem

I purchased the UK6090pua TV last night, 1/27/2019, at the Mt. Juliet, TN Best Buy. When I got home, I connected everything correctly per the instructions. Problem is, and I now see this is an issue with this TV, the HDMI ports weren't functioning properly. Specifically, I connected my computer's functioning HDMI cable to all 3 of the TV's HDMI ports and no picture came up, just a message saying "No Signal", constantly. One thing I did notice is that the names of the ports, ie, "HDMI1"/"HDMI2", would turn white when I plugged the HDMI cable in, thereby indicating a connection was made, and graying out when the HDMI cable was unplugged. I restarted the TV a few times, which didn't help. I restarted my computer several times and then started finally noticing that the boot screen my comp finally came up, but... right before the Windows sign in screen came up, the screen went black and the "No Signal" window with the screen saver program came up again. I could hear the sound effects for the Windows sign in screen in my headphones and I was able to blindly sign in and blindly get to windows desktop, but still no signal. So, what I did was call the LG support line, which gave me no answers as well, just that I was told to try to change the resolution, which is almost impossible if the LG TV is not plugged in and working or communicating with my comp. I will say that I had the same idea, but the question is, "How do you do that with the previously mentioned difficulties?" My best solution to get my desktop to come up was the following: 1. first I tried to change the res by using my old monitor and then disconnecting it and plugging in the LG TV. That didn't work because the screen just did the same thing, no signal. 2. I plugged in both my monitor, a DVI based plug and then the LG TV. Problem is the LG TV causes the other monitor to go black as well and the LG TV still says No Signal. 3. the actual solution: While using my old monitor, I went to the Screen Resolution setting and set the res to: 1600 x 900 setting. Then click on Apply. When the new resolution applies, a window comes up that has 2 buttons: "Keep" and "Revert" and a 13 second countdown timer to revert is in progress. While that is happening, plug the LG TV in, watch as the old monitor goes black again, and when the old monitor resolution reverts, the LG TV and old monitor will then both come on and show the Windows desktop. After that, then select the "Multiple Displays" dropdown menu and then click on "duplicate these displays" and click Apply again. This allowed me to use my Windows desktop with the LG TV. There is still another problem, though. I had to keep my old monitor connected to my video cards DVI port in order to continue using the TV with my comp. or the screen on the LG TV would go black again. This indicates to me that there must be either a hardware or software switching issue with this LG TV.

This is my first 4k television after years of settling for the "bargain" TVs on black fridays, you know the ones. Decided it was time to upgrade not only in size from my 39 inch, but also quality. I've heard nothing but good things about LG, so I took a chance. And I was not dissapointed! The screen is incredible, and after an hour or so of adjusting the settings on my own, movies, games and shows were all looking crisp and beautiful. My one and only complaint is the menus for the interface/settings feels slow, and is annoying to navigate. That and the AI voice is very annoying, was the first thing I turned off

I purchased a Samsung to replace my older Sony in my bedroom. Upon taking it out of the box, the back of the TV had two cracks. I returned it for a refund, as I was just frustrated. Going home I stopped to get a few things from my local supermarket and saw this model for sale, it was $100 cheaper then the Samsung....Went home did some research on this model and decided to get it....Glad I did, the picture and sound are excellent, the 50" is perfect for my bedroom, my wife is happy so that means alot. Now I'm doing research for a 75" or bigger for the family room

So far the LG 50" UHD TV is an excellent experience. We bought this TV 2 months ago. This is an extra TV to fill a space and bought on price point only. It has turned out a much better choice than the Samsung Curve we bought at more than double the price 2 yrs prior. Easy set up. The default settings are almost perfect so not much needed in the way of adjusting picture. The TV is placed in an Cabinet so sound is reflected directly back, speakers are very adequate. Great choice for the money.

Purchased this Tv based on viewing other LG brands and their reputation. The price drop of $170.00 was the deal breaker. So far I really am satisfied with my purchase and set up by the Geek Squad!!

    Picture not very good

This is the 2nd LG I purchased, the first was a 55 inch 6300. Neither has IPS display and both had poor picture until you turn off auto-dimming. Still, the colors and flesh tones were not right and off-angle viewing was poor. I spent quite a bit of time adjusting the picture and it was still unsatisfactory so I returned it. With the help of Robert, the in-store "LG expert", I decided to buy the 49SK8000PUA for considerably more money. The picture and overall build quality on that model is MUCH better. Off angle viewing is much better too. (Our plasma was better but it died.) We will keep that model, assuming nothing goes wrong. A complaint with both models is it is very hard to wall mount because the connections are facing back instead of sideways. I can't connect the HDMI on the back and have to use the side. Also the side USB is very hard to get to and it would be hard to add a HDMI from the side temporarily hooked to a laptop. The side connectors should be easier to reach when wall mounted. I also need the component video for my dvd player and had to buy right angle adapters to get the cables to squeeze in.

    Frustrating Purchase

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I was really looking forward to buying this TV. The employees at my local Best Buy suggested this LG over a lower end Samsung. The price was certainly attractive for a 50 inch 4K HDR tv. The first thing I noticed is that the legs provide very little support. If you don’t mount it, there is a chance that it could fall which can be serious hazard to pets or children. The setup for webOS was very slow and clunky. There was a software update that only progressed 2% in two hours. I hope that was the true cause of the OS issues but the full update never finished. I also have 100 mbps internet, so I doubt my internet was the issue. The final issue was nice dead pixel in middle of the screen, something that I couldn’t stand with a brand new purchase. In conclusion, I am return the tv. I hope that I just got a poor unit. The picture quality seemed fine, but the frustrations with the safety, slow operating system, and dead pixels, I can’t stick with this product.

OMG! Figured I'd replace a 6-year old Toshiba 50-inch before a tariff war makes it unaffordable. Read the great reviews and picked up my LG today. It was easy to set up (for a gal) and once done after some routine setup, the picture is AMAZING! This TV picture is every bit as good as my 4K Samsung curved. The bedroom is now an oasis; great job, LG!

Disappointed in picture quality compared to our 1080p. Not as sharp and unable to see at an angle. Sound works nice and easy to attach legs. No other issues for a tv at this price point so if you are unable to pay more then tv would work for you.

I bought this TV for Christmas, thinking that I was getting a great deal. The price was definitely low. However, when we installed it on Christmas day, I quickly realized that I had wasted my money. The TV looked great from a straight on view, but any time you view it at an angle, the colors wash out dramatically. The setup was easy enough and the apps seemed cool. I was also unimpressed with the sound quality. Overall - I would not buy again, nor would I recommend this to a friend. The picture and the sound leave a lot to be desired. We took this LG back and spent more money on a better TV to get the look and sound we desired.

I like this Tv but it is unfortunately very wobbly with the poor stand/feet. Is there a sturdier option? I don’t like wall mounted TVs. And may return this because of the stand. It is that wobbly. If you like wall mounts you won’t have this issue. Come on LG. Make a better stand.
