Off-axis, things deteriorate pretty quickly. It isn't horrible off-axis, but it nothing like it is when you are well centered in front of it. I actually bought this for my 90 year old mother and while she is not really picky, she notices the difference from the sides. As long as you don't intend to do a lot of viewing from off-center, you'll probably be happy with this TV for the money.

Picture quality is good, sound not so much.
